Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1850: Chapter 1852: We Are Not Acquaintances, But Enemies

In the Capital, this renowned hot pot restaurant was bustling with excitement as Cheng Su, Ning Ge, and his childhood friends gathered around the dining table.

It’s said that people make friends who reflect who they are. Ning Ge was an unruly ruffian, and his childhood friend Zhou Jun was similar, sporting a baby face and always speaking with a hint of boldness. However, his straightforward nature deeply appealed to Cheng Su.

Direct and straightforward, without too many thoughts, simple yet carefree, no need to guess back and forth, getting along naturally and pleasantly.

Zhou Jun cracked another crude joke. Seeing Cheng Su’s lips curl into a smile, he coughed: ”Sister-in-law, you know my mouth has no filter, but I mean well, don’t mind me. It’s only in front of familiar faces that I loosen up like this.”

Ning Ge retorted, ”Oh, come off it; what familiar faces? You’re meeting her for the first time!”

”Hey, that’s not right. We’ve been connected in dreams for ages. You wouldn’t know about it!” Zhou Jun replied carelessly.

”Bullshit, what connection in dreams? If Big Brother Qi hears this, your skin will be in trouble!” Ning Ge laughed and cursed.

Zhou Jun immediately slapped his mouth a few times and said, ”Yes, yes, my mistake. Sister-in-law, don’t mind me. I’ll punish myself with three glasses!” With that, he downed three shots of white liquor in one go.

”Just looking for an excuse to drink again!”

Cheng Su replied with a smile, ”No family around now, feel free!”

”Sister-in-law is a generous person. I admire you as a heroine among women. Come, let’s have a drink together!” Zhou Jun raised his glass in a toast to her.

Cheng Su picked up her glass, clinked it with his, and drank it all.

The group then started discussing business experiences.

”I’ll go to the restroom.” Cheng Su placed her napkin down and stood up.

”Exit and turn left, then left again!” Zhou Jun hurriedly reminded.

Cheng Su chuckled.

The restroom might be the perfect setting for a melodramatic scene, otherwise Cheng Su wouldn’t have encountered such a dramatic situation, bumping into someone she knew once she walked out.

”Sorry.” Cheng Su apologized first and stepped aside.

”You...”

Cheng Su looked up, her expression slightly changing as she recognized the person in front of her.

Chiang Tian, Chiang Qing’s younger brother.

”Cheng Su. That’s right, now I remember your name.” Chiang Tian started, with alcohol fumes wafting toward Cheng Su, making her feel nauseous. He scrutinized her from head to toe, squinting his eyes: ”How come you’re here? What are you doing here?”

Truly foes are bound to meet by chance, bumping into this guy even when she wanted to avoid him completely, let alone converse with him. Ignoring him, she decided to walk away.

”Hey.” Chiang Tian stopped her, feeling a bit embarrassed: ”I’m talking to you; why are you running away?”

Cheng Su looked at him coldly: ”What do you want?”

Her voice was icy cold, sending a shiver through Chiang Tian as he suddenly remembered why she was here. Naturally, Ning Ge and his friends were here; they had close ties after all, and Ning Ge might even be in this hot pot restaurant now!

With this thought, Chiang Tian lowered his hand and smiled: ”Nothing much, since we’re acquaintances, isn’t it just normal to say hello? It’s been years since we last met!”

”Sorry, I’m not your acquaintance. Instead...” Cheng Su’s lips moved gently: ”We’re enemies.”

She could never forget that her first child was lost because Chiang Tian’s mother pushed her, leading to the miscarriage; it was the Chiang Family’s doing.

Therefore, they weren’t acquaintances but rather lifelong foes.

Chiang Tian’s smile slightly waned, watching her silently.

Cheng Su didn’t want to talk to him either. Standing by his side made her feel disgusted, so she left.

Chiang Tian watched her disappearing back, his face darkened, yet hesitated to follow. Running into Ning Ge would stir quite the trouble, and he was currently negotiating business deals!
