Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1828: Chapter 1830: Admitting Defeat

When Jiang Qing was mentioned, Jiang Dafang paused in his tea-drinking, put the teacup down, looked at Ning Ge, and said, ”My son was born last month.”

Ning Ge was startled, then smiled and said, ”Congratulations on your precious son!”

”While I was doing rehab in the hospital, I did hate her and thought about killing her, but in the end, wasn’t it because I was the one who wronged her first, and she came for revenge? Later, when I saw my son’s soft little cheeks, I suddenly figured it out.” Jiang Dafang laughed self-deprecatingly, ”Maybe I chickened out. Having a child made me surrender. Now I just feel there’s nothing that compares to my son and my wife. Any grievances, I don’t want to remember or avenge, I just want to live with them peacefully.”

When he used the word ’surrender’, there wasn’t any sense of inferiority or shame on his face, just gentleness.

People, when they have a weakness, can only surrender to certain things.

”With her, it’s tit for tat. When will it end if grievances are repaid endlessly? I don’t want to spend the rest of my life fighting to the death with her, wasting time that could be spent with my family,” Jiang Dafang continued, ”So this revenge? I haven’t thought about it. As long as she doesn’t come after me, we can just keep to ourselves.”

Ning Ge smiled lightly, ”Alright then!”

He was just saying it casually, not expecting anything from him. Since he chose to retreat, it was his own choice.

”Do you think I’m too cowardly?” Jiang Dafang sneered awkwardly.

Ning Ge shrugged and spread his hands, ”You are just choosing the life you want, and that’s fine. If it really brings you peace, you can lead a simple life like many ordinary men.”

Jiang Dafang pressed his lips, ”It’s just, I have to say sorry to you.”

”Why’s that?” Ning Ge was a little surprised.

Jiang Dafang laughed at himself, ”You actually warned me back then not to underestimate her, not to be too soft-hearted, and at the time, I was still somewhat soft-hearted. Later, she sent people to kidnap me, and when I saw her again, I actually felt a sense of relief, like, finally, it was happening!”

Recalling the scene where Jiang Qing tortured and interrogated him mercilessly, he said, ”I have to say sorry because I couldn’t hold back. When she asked if it was you who sent me, I couldn’t help it and said I invited you to help, so I’m sorry for causing you trouble.”

”It’s nothing. Since I did it, I’m not afraid of her knowing,” Ning Ge said indifferently, ”A game is all about winning or losing. She lost, it’s because she wasn’t capable enough, she can’t blame anyone. If I lost, it’s the same.”

”That’s true, but I’m afraid she’ll hold a grudge against you and do to you what she did to me...” Jiang Dafang pressed his lips.

”Since you knew to prepare the company’s equity in advance, so that Liu Cheng could find me once something happened, you should already know whether or not I have the ability to fight her,” Ning Ge looked at him and said, ”So, you don’t need to worry.”

Jiang Dafang exhaled and said, ”I understand. But I must still remind you, you are always righteous, and she, I think she has a bit of a shady background, you know, directly confronting each other is one thing, at most just a struggle between us. I just fear she’ll take a shot from behind, that’s something you can’t guard against, so I hope you take it seriously. She always has a bit of vicious intent!”

Otherwise, if something really happened, he would never be at peace.
