Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1832: Chapter 1834: The Truth Behind Not Getting Pregnant

The living room was unusually quiet. Chiang Qing and Shen Rong embraced each other, both harboring their own thoughts and hidden agendas.

”I’ve said it before, even without children, you don’t need to worry about your life!” Shen Rong said, patting her back.

Chiang Qing looked up, forcing a slight smile.

Seeing her expression, Shen Rong, perhaps feeling guilty or uneasy, changed the subject and asked, ”How is Xiao Tian’s business going? Is the funding sufficient?”

”It’s okay, but the scale is still a bit small, and many things can’t be expanded.” Mentioning the funds, Chiang Qing temporarily stopped worrying about the child issue. Without a child, she needed to try her best to secure as much money as possible for her own safety.

”Tomorrow, I’ll ask Lin Biao to deposit a few checks into your account!” Shen Rong said. ”For this casino’s shareholders’ meeting, I’ll add five percent more shares in your name.”

Chiang Qing was surprised, ”For me?”

Shen Rong smiled, ”Yes.” He stroked her hair and said, ”I told you, even if you don’t have children, I will not give you any less of what you should have! With this five percent share, your annual dividends will be enough for you to eat, drink, and be merry!”

Don’t underestimate that five percent share. For a casino, there are many shareholders, and some people might only get one or two and a half percent of the share. Shen Rong giving Chiang Qing five percent is indeed quite a lot!

Chiang Qing, knowing how to calculate, planted a big kiss on his face and said, ”Thank you, darling!”

”Happy now?” Shen Rong pinched her cheek.

Chiang Qing pouted deliberately, ”How would you know, I heard that Second Sister got pregnant at her age, and I haven’t. It’s so sad; I can’t give you anything!”

Those words greatly pleased Shen Rong, who said, ”I don’t need you to give anything, just being by my side is enough!”

”Hmm!” Chiang Qing showed a smile, lying on his chest, the smile disappearing as she said, ”But I still wish to give you a child!”

”Let’s go with nature’s course!”

Those perfunctory words wiped away the joy Chiang Qing had just felt.

That night, the two were extremely intimate. Chiang Qing used all sorts of tactics to please Shen Rong. If it weren’t for him being really old, perhaps there would have been a third round.

The next day, Shen Rong had her drink a bowl of fish maw soup with chicken. Chiang Qing, being cautious, said she’d drink it when it cooled. When Shen Rong and Lin Biao went to discuss business, she only left a little of the soup and poured the rest out, not even a drop entering her mouth.

When Chiang Tian came to talk to her about business, she gave him the small bag of soup, asking him to secretly get it tested to find out what kind of medication was inside.

Chiang Tian didn’t understand, but at this point, he would listen to whatever Chiang Qing said. After taking it to a familiar person for testing, he gave Chiang Qing the result.

Inside, not only was there birth control medicine, but also saffron!

Chiang Qing immediately smashed the bird’s nest in her hand, shaking with anger.

This was the truth behind her efforts to become pregnant for so long!

This is the kind of plot that exists only in TV dramas, yet Shen Rong actually made her take birth control medication.

How could he do this!

Did he think of her as a fool to be toyed with?

Chiang Qing’s eyes burned with hatred, but she still calmed herself down, instructing Chiang Tian to keep this secret while she pondered her next steps.

If he wouldn’t let her conceive, no matter the reason, she couldn’t accept it. She desperately needed a child to solidify her position; she needed power, people, and money to do as she pleased!

If Shen Rong wouldn’t let her give birth, could she really not?

Could he control everything with one hand? He’s old!

Chiang Qing bit bitterly into the silk handkerchief in her hand, her eyes burning with hatred and anger.
