I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 514: Chapter 513: Advanced Herbal Cuisine

The office building is a four-story building; initially, it wasn’t necessary to have so many offices, but Ma Tianlai was determined to expand, and it was for future preparations.

What if it goes bankrupt?

That’s impossible. With strong products and extensive marketing and management experience, if Ma Tianlai could let this industry go bankrupt, he would have been wasting his years as a big boss.

The company is already registered, the accountant is working with the bank to handle relevant account opening procedures, and Ma Tianlai is already putting the promotion on the agenda.

”Doctor Bei, do you have any opinions on the promotion?”

On this day, Ma Tianlai came to the small courtyard specifically to ask this question. He actually has a whole set of marketing and promotion plans, which are refined through the process of selecting several plans proposed by others. However, out of respect for Beisitian, he deliberately came to inquire.

After Beisitian reviewed the plan, she felt very satisfied. She was far less experienced than Ma Tianlai in these matters, but because her focus was different, she also looked at the problem from a different angle.

”We’re doing herbal cuisine here. No matter how you look at this, it feels like we’re promoting dietary supplements,” Beisitian said.

Ma Tianlai pinched his chin. He hadn’t noticed it before, but now that she mentioned it, it indeed felt that way, so it seems there is a need for some revisions!

After reviewing the promotion plan, Beisitian also got some inspiration. She gave Ma Tianlai a total of eight formulas, all traditional Chinese medicine formulas, which were graded in the promotion, and because the grades differed, so did the prices.

But if one wants these traditional herbal cuisine formulas to be effective when consumed, it takes continual time. Generally, herbal cuisine requires long-term consumption before showing results, which makes it hard to distinguish the grades, only relying on the types of medicinal herbs inside to judge the quality, which is not viable.

Every individual’s constitution is different, and so is the absorption rate of medicines and the effectiveness they produce. Some people may see significant effects from consuming expensive medicinal herbs, while others may not, or even have adverse reactions, and some people’s bodies can’t handle strong supplements.

Beisitian could not possibly satisfy everyone, but she at least wanted to make most people recognize her herbal cuisines.

Therefore, she planned to truly categorize these herbal cuisines, splitting them into Advanced Herbal Cuisine and normal herbal cuisine based on the original foundation.

Advanced Herbal Cuisine, needless to say, naturally would include her talismanic water, while normal herbal cuisine would be divided into two levels: one using some regular herbal cuisine recipes she knew, and the other using some recipes evolved from ancient methods.

The latter was something she had recently pondered over in her free time. Mrs. Qin felt it was much more effective than general herbal cuisine after making it according to her method.

Beisitian told Ma Tianlai her thoughts, and he was delighted to hear them; if that’s the case, it would be even better.

”Doctor Bei, since that’s the case, I’ll make another preliminary promotion plan!” Ma Tianlai said excitedly.

For the herbal cuisine that included talismanic water, Ma Tianlai had almost already defined this type of Advanced Herbal Cuisine, temporarily selling it only to upper-class people!

Why do this, Ma Tianlai is a really savvy person. Some things, just like clothes, cars, brand effects are very important. Some may not find a piece of clothing particularly nice-looking, but seeing the brand instantly makes it seem high-end.

He wanted to give people this kind of feeling!

The price of Advanced Herbal Cuisine would naturally be very high. Moreover, Beisitian mentioned that the supply of this kind of cuisine is limited, after all, the talismanic water is made by her, and she cannot produce it in bulk alone.

Ma Tianlai showed great understanding and kindly asked whether this would affect her rest or the baby’s growth.

Beisitian laughed when she heard this; this sort of talismanic water was very easy for her now, and continuously making talismans would not strain her morale.

”Besides, I don’t want to use celebrities as the brand ambassador,” Beisitian said.

Although celebrities have high recognition, using them to promote herbal cuisine somehow seems less effective.

Ma Tianlai paused, as he couldn’t fully agree with this point. To make the brand name popular, one must choose faces that are familiar to everyone.

”Does Doctor Bei have any direction in mind for promotion?” Ma Tianlai asked.

He could tell that Beisitian had very little experience in this aspect, to call her a rookie wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Yet, she had the skills and abilities, so one must listen to her opinions despite having more experience.

”Hiring a celebrity to promote Gu Ran would make the brand recognition quicker, but people would only remember the name and the celebrity face,” Beisitian said.

Ma Tianlai raised an eyebrow; if not, then what?

”If we could become the exclusive supplier for some events, using that as promotion, people would have a more intuitive perception of the effects of herbal cuisine.”

Listening to Beisitian talking confidently, it made a lot of sense at first glance and seemed reasonable, but it made him smile bitterly.

Dear madam, becoming an exclusive supplier requires your brand to be recognized and depends on what project or event it is an exclusive for. Some minor ones wouldn’t achieve the promotional effect at all.

”This... Doctor Bei’s idea isn’t wrong, but typically, these types of exclusive food supplies need to go through bidding. Our company has just been established and is still a distance from the bidding stage, and the brand effect is entirely not enough for recognition,” Ma Tianlai stated as gently as possible.

Ma Tianlai only stated part of it. In actuality, becoming an exclusive supplier for some notable projects is not too difficult. Either someone at a higher level within that project appreciates it, or you sponsor it.

Now that Heavenly Reduction is just starting, all the investment funds have been used for operations, and only a few thousand bucks remain on the books, which isn’t enough for anything proper.

Even for promotional expenses, Ma Tianlai planned to pay out of pocket first, considering that hiring a top-tier celebrity might not be feasible at the moment, as it would be quite costly even to hire a second-tier one.

”What kind of event as an exclusive supplier would have a good effect?” Beisitian asked.

Ma Tianlai thought for a moment and said, ”To achieve really good effects, it should be a politically related conference, large-scale gala, or other popular events. Of course, if we could appear on the Spring Festival Gala, that would be a massive hit!”

He was joking.

Beisitian lapsed into contemplation, as she reminisced on her previous life’s business failures, due to a lack of direction, intellect, and energy, keeping all her effort focused on her profession, satisfied with reaching a level of sustenance, with a bit of leisure on top of it.

Now with a business talent like Ma Tianlai on her side, Beisitian’s line of thinking quickly opened up. Unable to succeed didn’t mean she’d hang on persistently; everything was about promoting better.

”I’ll figure things out in this area, you go ahead and draft a new promotion plan according to what we discussed previously, advancing on multiple fronts if possible,” Beisitian said.
