I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 511: Chapter 510: Manpower

Speaking of which, Ma Tianlai felt a bit embarrassed, ”Doctor Bei, having a partner like you, any business would dream of waking up laughing. No demands, yet provides the best ’goods’!”

After Ma Tianlai finished speaking, unexpectedly Beisitian burst into laughter, leaving him puzzled, as he found her laughter somewhat inexplicable.

”I just recently underwent an equity transfer and left a listed company cleanly. Hearing what you said, wouldn’t people laugh?” Beisitian said with a smile.

Ma Tianlai was momentarily stunned before asking, ”Which company?”

The ’left cleanly’ that Beisitian mentioned was most likely equity transferred at its valuation, otherwise she wouldn’t phrase it like that. Which company lacks such foresight? He seemed interested to meet them, maybe even snag a big opportunity!

Though it’s hard to say, the other party must have been unaware of Beisitian’s true skills, otherwise, how could they have done such a foolish thing?

Thinking of this, Ma Tianlai felt extremely fortunate. It was because Old General Wu knew Beisitian that, fortunately, he almost missed meeting Beisitian, but luckily, at the time, he maintained some rationality and used his brain.

Ma Tianlai now even more wanted to meet the person who refused Beisitian; without their rejection, he wouldn’t have this opportunity!

In the partnership, Beisitian’s requirements were just as simple as initially. She would provide part of the funds, and all the recipes, guiding the process.

As for dividends, they would be calculated based on her funding amounts and the value generated by her recipes. Ma Tianlai was especially skilled at dealing with people; he used part of the money to buy some simple recipes from Beisitian, then used that money along with Beisitian’s funds to make her the largest shareholder!

This business was part of Ma Tianlai’s newly established company, initially planning to develop in the Mainland. Previously, his businesses had some shady connections, and although crackdowns weren’t severe now, sooner or later that day would come. He wanted to take this chance to clean up his act.

The company registration would be handled by Ma Tianlai, the procedures too. As the legal representative was Ma Tianlai, since Beisitian didn’t want to visit the bank often or waste too much energy on this; her main aim was earning money. If someone else could earn more than her, why should she bother?

Even though Ma Tianlai handled procedures, he was operating a big business, a listed enterprise in Hong Kong. For him, letting a subordinate handle this was enough.

The capital registered totaled one hundred and fifty thousand; this was no small amount. Any bank would be willing to accommodate such a big client!

Having agreed on all of this, Ma Tianlai prepared to leave; he needed to promptly finalize these matters.

”This is for An Ran; it’s good for his health.” Beisitian put a small porcelain bottle on the stone table.

Having known Beisitian for quite some time, seeing this delicate-looking porcelain bottle, Ma Tianlai was elated. This was Beisitian’s special container for talismanic water, which he had seen before. The bottom was engraved with a ’Bei’ character, almost a signature tool for Beisitian.

”Quickly thank Doctor Bei!” Ma Tianlai hurriedly told his son.

Although Beisitian had helped his son with treatments, they were predominantly herbal medicines, which also had excellent effects. Yet Ma Tianlai knew that talismanic water was a rare treasure!

Ultimately, Ma Tianlai had his son call her ’Doctor Bei’, thus observing etiquette without appearing disrespectful, nor overly eager.

Shortly after Ma Tianlai left, the third daughter-in-law, Su Lan, came over, ”Beibei, you called me over; what’s the matter?”

”Third Auntie,” Beisitian greeted with a smile.

Third Uncle Tian Qingyun and third Auntie Su Lan now counted as Beisitian’s people, though still not explicitly, but with Tian Heming and Dong Fengzhen’s acquiescence, Tian Qingyun was gradually relinquishing control of the family business.

Tian Qingyun didn’t seem reluctant, but having handed over duties here, he had nothing to do at Beisitian’s side, and felt somewhat bored.

However, Tian Heming had already made it clear; since they became Beisitian’s people, they shouldn’t interfere with family businesses anymore, as this was also to show Beisitian where his intentions lay.

Moreover, Tian Heming considered whether the entire family of the third son should be separated earlier than planned; the crux remained in how to proceed, given besides the externally placed family of the fourth son, there was also the family of the second son.

The eldest and fifth children were temporarily not going to be separated; they were both born into Chinese medicine careers. For the Tian Family, they were key pillars; besides, the eldest was the firstborn, the fifth child’s offspring also produced Tian Zhi. Ultimately, Tian Heming was still deciding, the family was managed by Tian Jun, obviating the need for more managers.

This time Beisitian called Su Lan over, intending to ask if Su Lan had management experience. If she did, Beisitian would ask Su Lan and Tian Qingyun to join the new company.

Though Ma Tianlai seemed keen on building connections, Beisitian still felt the time spent interacting with him was short, and it takes time to truly understand someone. She hadn’t fully trusted Ma Tianlai yet.

Compared to Ma Tianlai, Tian Qingyun and Su Lan were more trustworthy, although they were elders, they never put on airs, and since the incident, their respect for her had grown.

”Third Auntie, what did you use to do?” Beisitian asked.

Su Lan was surprised by her question, then replied, ”I helped your third uncle with affairs; business dealings inevitably involve banks. Your third uncle didn’t trust others to handle this, so let me go, although I studied accounting.”

Speaking of accounting, Su Lan was quite pleased about it. Accounting was a highly sought-after profession, elder accountants were even more valuable than old Chinese doctors. While she wasn’t old, she’d been in the profession for over a decade, handling various types of handmade accounts, continually dealings with banks, and was well-versed in such matters.

At hearing this, Beisitian was delighted internally. She didn’t plan to rely entirely on Ma Tianlai’s people; though she wished to be hands-off, she needed reliable people inside to become truly hands-off.

Besides those individuals she contemplated, she also planned to select some newcomers.

”Why is Beibei asking about these things?” Su Lan asked after answering, curious about Beisitian’s motivations. Su Lan positioned herself accurately, despite Beisitian’s young age, being family but with true abilities that overshadowed the entire Tian Family. Facing such a person, Su Lan needed a clear sense of her own position, maintaining the right mindset.

She was wise enough; having made a foolish mistake once, she dared not repeat it!

”I went into business with someone, in herbal cuisines, lacking some manpower,” Beisitian smiled.
