I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 510: Chapter 509: A New Partner

Actually, Beisitian has a business expert by her side, and that person is Luo Xudong. She certainly hasn’t forgotten that Luo Xudong once had the identity of ’Zhou Jiren’!

Zhou Jiren’s business skills definitely aren’t inferior to Ma Tianlai’s. Not only that, but he also has a lot of connections and manpower in the process of running his business.

If he didn’t have this ability, he wouldn’t have been valued by opposing forces, and thus risen so high in such a short time. Of course, this is also largely related to his other abilities, but it’s undeniable that Luo Xudong’s business skills are very strong.

However, Luo Xudong’s heart isn’t in this. No matter how much money he earns, if there’s no power, he can’t protect Beisitian and their children, so he remains silent on this matter unless Beisitian asks him. Otherwise, he concentrates on advancing upward.

Beisitian indeed hasn’t asked him because, even if she did, she would at most learn the basics. This kind of thing requires dedicated research and long-term management; it isn’t something that can instantly bring success. So her most effective and reliable plan is to provide products and funds and find a business partner.

Currently, the only person who knows her abilities and also has significant business acumen is Ma Tianlai.

Ma Tianlai hasn’t visited much recently but frequently contacts Beisitian, asking for advice on health and wellness. Just when Beisitian was thinking about this matter, Ma Tianlai’s call came through.

”Doctor Bei, I’m planning to enter the medical equipment business. Do you have any suggestions?” Ma Tianlai asked.

He intends to cooperate with the 232 Military District Hospital, but he still wants Beisitian’s opinion. After all, doing so is to win Beisitian’s favor.

Upon hearing his question, Beisitian couldn’t help but smile and said, ”Are you considering expanding into the medicinal cuisine sector? I have medicinal recipes on hand.”

The other end of the line suddenly went silent.

If Beisitian couldn’t hear his breathing, she might have thought he’d hung up already. Just as she was about to ask if he was still there, she heard a skeptical voice from the other end.

”Doctor Bei, do you mean you want to collaborate with me?” Ma Tianlai asked cautiously, afraid he might be overthinking.

”Yes, I’ll contribute part of the funds and the recipes, and oversee the production process. You handle the rest,” Beisitian said.

”No problem! No problem! Not a problem at all here! Doctor Bei doesn’t even need to provide funds, just the recipes, and supervision is enough!” Ma Tianlai replied eagerly, feeling like a golden opportunity had dropped from the sky.

He was just thinking about how to build closer ties with Beisitian and strengthen their relationship. Little did he realize Beisitian wanted to collaborate with him on medicinal cuisine.

If anyone else mentioned collaborating with him on the medicinal cuisine industry, he’d probably not take it seriously. The industry is too small, unable to scale, and requires a long time to develop, with a small development space. Perhaps as people’s living standards improve in the future, it might gain some momentum, but it’s far less promising than other industries.

But when Beisitian talks about it, it’s different. After all, Beisitian is a Mystic Doctor, and she can’t remain obscure forever. When she becomes known, anything associated with her will become valuable—not in monetary terms, but in terms of value!

”Doctor Bei, when do you have time? I’d like to discuss this in detail.” Ma Tianlai said.

”Today or tomorrow, either is fine.” Beisitian said.

Ma Tianlai immediately expressed that he’d come over right away, wanting to finalize this matter quickly. Although he knows that since Beisitian brought it up, she’s likely made up her mind, there’s always a chance of someone unexpectedly taking the opportunity away. If that happens, he’d deeply regret it.

After about forty minutes, Ma Tianlai arrived at the doorstep, cheerfully walking in with a twelve or thirteen-year-old child following behind.

The child was extremely skinny, with arms and legs like sticks, giving the impression of skin wrapped around bones, without any flesh, naturally resulting in a lack of facial flesh as well. Although his eyes were large, the sharp chin and emaciated cheeks gave an appearance of severe malnutrition.

”Doctor Bei, this is my son. I just changed his name; he’s called Ma Anran!” Ma Tianlai smilingly pulled him forward, slightly bending over to prompt his son, ”Come on, say... say...”

At this point, he suddenly stumbled, uncertain whether to call her ”sister” or ”aunt.”

Beisitian now is only in her twenties, calling her ”aunt” seemed too old, but calling her ”sister” would make his son a generation younger, seeming like taking undue advantage of Doctor Bei.

Beisitian didn’t mind, gesturing with her hand to Ma Anran, saying: ”Call me whatever, is your name Ma Anran?”

Ma Anran nodded, looking somewhat weary—not because he hadn’t slept well, but because he had been in a coma for two years due to poisoning. Besides being severely underweight, his mental state was poor.

The Ma Anran now and the one who just woke up had a significant difference. Back then, Ma Anran being able to stay awake for a short period was considered good, as he was confused all day without any strength.

”Why did you suddenly change his name?” Beisitian asked.

Ma Tianlai, under Beisitian’s invitation, sat on a stone stool, glancing at Beisitian’s belly with surprise in his eyes, ”When I went to pick up my wife, I visited a Feng Shui master who suggested changing the name to include ’An’ for smoother luck, and with Feng Shui, sometimes you can’t help but believe. Regardless, I just hope my son remains safe, asking for nothing else.”

Beisitian nodded, understanding his thoughts now that she was an expectant mother herself.

”Doctor Bei, are you...?” Ma Tianlai looked at Beisitian’s belly.

”Three months along.” Beisitian smiled.

Ma Tianlai showed a trace of surprise and then said: ”Congratulations Doctor Bei! Over this period, settling my wife and son, and dealing with matters, I haven’t had the chance to visit. This is wonderful news!”

”Thank you.”

”Doctor Bei’s nutrition seems good. At three months, it was hard to tell with my wife.” Ma Tianlai chuckled.

He suspected it wasn’t a single birth, but if it was indeed a single birth, and her belly was big due to Doctor Bei’s diet, then it’d be awkward, so he opted for this wording.

Beisitian laughed, ”It’s triplets.”

This time, Ma Tianlai was genuinely surprised, his face involuntarily breaking into a smile, ”Doctor Bei’s husband is a lucky man, having triplets under the Mainland’s one-child policy, that’s truly blessed!”

After some casual chat, the atmosphere became more harmonious, and they began discussing the collaboration.

Regarding the collaboration, even if Beisitian had various demands, he’d endeavor to meet them. Moreover, Beisitian acted like she didn’t care at all, not setting any expectations on business matters, so he had no objections and fully adhered to Beisitian’s guidance.
