I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 507: Chapter 506: I Know Why

When Luo Xudong heard it was triplets, he didn’t show much joy. It wasn’t that he didn’t like children, but he had researched these matters recently. Three children were too much of a burden for Beisitian, and giving birth could be dangerous!

He didn’t like Beisitian to suffer too much because of this, and he also didn’t want her to be in any danger.

Luo Xudong said nothing, instead remaining silent, doing more for Beisitian, as much as he could, and some things he’d never done before.

That day, Dong Fengzhen picked up Beisitian to go to the Tian Family, and said with a smile, ”Beibei, triplets are different from a single birth. The body gets heavier and heavier, and the nutrition needs to keep up. You can’t stay still all the time...”

Beisitian smiled and nodded in agreement.

”Speaking of which, does Xudong’s family have a gene for twins? Usually, this situation of twins or multiples only occurs if both parents have such genes,” Dong Fengzhen said.

Beisitian slightly lowered her eyes to hide the light in them and said with a smile, ”It’s hard to say, he hasn’t mentioned it.”

She didn’t know if the Luo Family had genes for multiples, but the Bei Family did. If Beisitian had been doubtful and uncertain before, she was now almost sure that Bei Jiale was her twin sister.

However, who was the elder and who the younger was hard to say; probably only Beidewang and Tian Meijun knew.

Just then, a servant came in saying that Miss Tian Qiu had returned, and Dong Fengzhen smilingly let her in.

Tian Qiu entered the inner courtyard holding a child, accompanied by Weng Yong’an.

Seeing Beisitian there, Tian Qiu was quite pleasantly surprised, and Weng Yong’an also showed a smile.

”Beibei, you’re here too. I’ve heard you’re having triplets. Starting now, you’ll be having a tough time. Pregnancy is hard, childbirth is hard, and raising children is even harder!” Tian Qiu said.

She had deep experience in this. Without a mother-in-law to help with childcare, she didn’t want to burden her own mother either, and she wanted to take care of her precious child herself, so she took care of it without help day or night.

Weng Yong’an, a big man, was now working hard alone. He often didn’t have time and sometimes came home late. Despite this, when he had time, he learned to take care of the child.

Nowadays, men taking care of children would often be criticized for being unambitious, but Weng Yong’an didn’t care. He was working hard on his career while wholeheartedly accompanying his wife and child!

Beisitian reached out and took Tian Qiu’s child, asking, ”What’s the name again?”

”Weng Taixiang, nickname Kai Xin.” Weng Yong’an responded with a smile.

She knew the nickname, but not the full name, though Weng Taixiang seemed a bit old-fashioned.

”You think it’s old-fashioned too, don’t you? But Xiaoqiu insisted on using this name,” Weng Yong’an said helplessly.

Tian Qiu pouted, ”What’s old-fashioned about it!”

Tian Qiu glared, prompting Weng Yong’an to quickly surrender.

Seeing the couple so loving, Dong Fengzhen felt relieved.

”This child still lacks vitality, here is the medicine I prepared for Kai Xin before. This little ceramic bottle can be used ten times, once every two days, two small spoonfuls each time, the spoon you prepared last time,” Beisitian said.

Tian Qiu hurriedly noted it down, and Weng Yong’an listened carefully by the side.

After discussing this, they chatted about other things, and then Luo Xudong arrived to take Beisitian back.

While Weng Yong’an was busy all the time, he at least returned home at night; Luo Xudong was different, sometimes disappearing for a week.

Tian Qiu felt a bit dissatisfied, and unfairly for Beisitian, thinking even if it’s to serve the country, he should still consider the family.

But she couldn’t say these things to Beisitian. If Beisitian had no complaints, speaking up might just put a thorn in her heart, which would only make her upset.

Tian Qiu knew that even if she went every day, such companionship was different from the one Luo Xudong provided. But she didn’t know how to speak up with Luo Xudong’s intimidating demeanor.

Tian Qiu and Weng Yong’an stayed for dinner upon Dong Fengzhen’s invitation, while Beisitian and Luo Xudong left.

”How come you have time today?” Beisitian asked as she sat in the passenger seat.

Luo Xudong glanced at her and, seeing she had no intention of blaming him, felt a bit uneasy and asked, ”You don’t blame me?”

Beisitian knew he was referring to his absence from home all day and night. She shook her head and said, ”I know why, don’t overwork yourself. You don’t have to be under such pressure.”

With just a simple sentence, Luo Xudong’s heart was filled. Pregnant women naturally need companionship, but he didn’t dare to relax. After Beisitian got pregnant, he worked even harder to advance quickly. He wanted to shield his wife and children without relying on Mr. Yu.

The military vehicle stopped at the small courtyard’s entrance. Luo Xudong gently provided support to Beisitian’s head, kissed her forehead, and said, ”I’ll go park the car.”

There was no designated parking space here; he had to drive the car out of the alley. Only when he saw Mrs. Qin coming out did he drive off.

Mrs. Qin was about to help Beisitian, but Beisitian gently took her hand and said, ”Mom, I can walk by myself.”

Mrs. Qin had no choice but to relent, saying softly, ”Xuhua and his wife are here.”

Beisitian was slightly taken aback. Luo Xuhua often came by, but Shao Simin rarely did. Why did they come together today, without any special occasion?

Her belly wasn’t large yet, but it was already showing, so she walked carefully, appearing unhurried.

”They’re in my courtyard, let’s go there,” Mrs. Qin said.

Beisitian nodded and walked towards the archway with Qin Shi, followed closely by Luo Xudong.

After passing through the archway, they reached a path of blue bricks arranged in a ’Tian’ formation. The rest of the area consisted of tilled soil, where Mrs. Qin had planted various vegetables, thriving in succession.

Despite the abundance of vegetables, it didn’t appear chaotic; instead, it exuded a vibrant vitality.

This was only about half of the courtyard. The rest was blue brick, with Bei’s courtyard featuring grapevines, stone tables, and stools for cooling in summer.

As the three of them walked in, the door was open, and they faintly heard the voices of Luo Xuhua and Luo Anguo.

Seeing Beisitian and the others enter, their gazes all turned over.

Shao Simin glanced up and down at Beisitian, seeing her protruding belly with eyes full of both envy and jealousy. Triplets, what are the chances?

However, today she wasn’t here to discuss these trivial matters. Shao Simin was here to make sure Beisitian handed over the recipe for medicinal food and cosmetics; she couldn’t just keep taking dividends!
