Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 76 Expensive? Not expensive at all, okay!!!Chapter 76 Expensive? Not expensive at all, okay!!!

Lin Chenran’s face was filled with a happy smile, and his whole body exuded a joyful aura.

Another chance to travel through the heavens, what a wonderful feeling!
It’s as refreshing as suddenly drinking a glass of cool and refreshing boiled water in the hot desert!
At this moment, Lin Chenran already had a preliminary understanding and knowledge of the system’s tasks.

Although he had obtained a new opportunity to travel through time, he was not in a hurry to try it. Instead, he planned to return to the 077 Mechanical Arsenal before making a decision.

When he finally returned to the bustling imperial capital, the old man’s personal guard He Yi appeared in front of him again to greet him.

Seeing He Yi, Lin Chenran smiled knowingly and said in a friendly manner: ”Brother Yi, you don’t have to pick me up in person every time.”

Hearing this, He Yi couldn’t help but smile bitterly: ”You guy, if the old man hadn’t ordered me to pick you up, I wouldn’t bother with you! But then again, I really didn’t expect you to be able to successfully negotiate this matter.”

As the old man’s personal bodyguard, He Yi naturally knew the importance and difficulty of Lin Chenran’s mission.

Before this, Lin Chenran had also revealed some relevant information to him.

So He Yi was very surprised and impressed that Lin Chenran was able to successfully complete this difficult task.

”Hey! Going to Mao Xiong’s place costs a lot of money.”

Lin Chenran sighed helplessly, but the smile on his face ”betrayed” him!
This is Deshou!!!
”If I hadn’t negotiated with the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau for a 760-horsepower four-stroke V-12-cylinder V-46 diesel engine, I would have been too embarrassed to face anyone.”

However, He Yi responded bluntly: ”You are so thick-skinned, how could you be too embarrassed to see people?”

There was a hint of teasing in his voice, which reminded people of the tacit understanding and friendship between them.

Hearing this, Lin Chenran immediately became angry and shouted, ”What? Who said I’m thick-skinned?”

Facing Lin Chenran’s anger, He Yi replied calmly: ”I don’t know!”

Lin Chenran widened his eyes and stared at He Yi fiercely for a while, trying to get an answer from him.

But He Yi obviously didn’t buy Lin Chenran’s trick and continued to drive attentively.

His eyes are firm and focused, and his hands are tightly gripping the steering wheel to ensure the safe driving of the vehicle.

The car became quiet, with only the roar of the engine and the sound of the tires rubbing against the ground.

……

Lin Chenran hurried across the yard. Without stopping for too long, he went straight to Mr. Lin’s study.

Standing at the door, he took a deep breath and then knocked gently.

”Knock knock knock!” The knocking on the door seemed a little heavy.

”Come in!” A low but powerful voice came from the study.

When Lin Chenran heard the voice, his heart tightened slightly, but he still slowly pushed open the door and walked into the room.

After entering the study, he saw Mr. Lin sitting at the desk, looking at him seriously.

”Grandpa, are you looking for me?” Lin Chenran asked softly, with a hint of doubt in his eyes.

”Yeah!” Old Master Lin nodded, staring at Lin Chenran with sharp eyes, as if he wanted to see through his eyes and see into his heart.

”Sit down and let’s talk slowly!” Mr. Lin’s tone was calm, but with an unquestionable majesty.

Lin Chenran walked carefully to the desk, gently pulled out a chair, and then slowly sat down. He placed his hands on his knees and leaned forward slightly.

”I heard that you signed a contract with the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau, and they were willing to sell you their 760-horsepower four-stroke V-12-cylinder V-46 diesel engine. How much did you spend?”

Old Master Lin sat on a chair, looking at Lin Chenran in front of him, a trace of seriousness on his face, and asked directly to the point.

Lin Chenran smiled slightly and answered without hesitation: ”Grandpa, this time we purchased the 760-horsepower four-stroke V-12-cylinder V-46 diesel engine technology and the production line, which cost a total of million US dollars, and then gave Kovlevich US dollars privately.”

After hearing this, Mr. Lin was immediately surprised. He widened his eyes and showed an expression of disbelief on his face.

When Lin Chenran said that it would cost 50 million US dollars to purchase this tank engine technology, he already felt that the cost was high, but acceptable.

However, it was hard for him to accept that the actual expenditure was a full 12 million US dollars higher than expected.

The US$250 million that had just been earned from the Saudi Arabia in the Camel region was directly spent at US$62 million.

This is too wasteful!
Can money be spent like this?

”Grandpa, do you think it’s not worth spending 62 million US dollars?”

Lin Chenran had just finished speaking, and Old Man Lin nodded.

He obviously felt that US$62 million was too expensive!

”If Kovlevich and his team hadn’t been there to coordinate, and your military had come directly to ask for the price, the Uralvagonzavod Design Bureau would probably have asked for between $100 million and $150 million.”

Mr. Lin looked at his grandson with disbelief.

”hiss!”

”Really?”

Lin Chenran nodded and responded.

”This……”

There are many tricks involved.

If the Yan country’s military wants to obtain a 760-horsepower four-stroke V-12-cylinder V-46 diesel engine from the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau, it would be impossible without ”heavy bleeding”.

Moreover, the Uralvagonzavod Design Bureau may not sell it, even though the tank engine technology is already relatively backward in Russia.

From a national perspective, Russia certainly does not want to allow Yan to obtain very advanced tank engine technology.

Lin Chenran secretly speculated in his heart that the price of 62 million US dollars would at least one-third of it would go into the pockets of Kovlevich and the forces behind him.

The Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau might only get more than 40 million US dollars. However, Lin Chenran did not care about the distribution of these benefits.

Even if the 62 million US dollars all went into the pockets of Kovlevich and the forces behind him, it would have nothing to do with Lin Chenran.

In fact, he would make him applaud.

Because this will further consolidate his relationship with the other party.

Furthermore, greedy people tend to be more cooperative (controlling).

……

After listening to Lin Chenran’s explanation, Mr. Lin finally understood.

It turns out there are so many tricks involved.

”Then can our military procurement...”

Mr. Lin also wanted Lin Chenran to act as an intermediary to purchase some equipment and technology.

”Forehead?”

”Grandpa, our relationship with Kovlevich has not yet reached that level, and we have just completed cooperation on a 760-horsepower four-stroke V-12-cylinder V-46 diesel engine.”

”We need to stay out of the spotlight at this time and not be noticed by the KGB agent organization of the Russian bear, otherwise...”
