Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 65: Providing Problems to LeadersChapter 65: Providing Problems to Leaders
Lin Chenran smiled slightly: ”No problem, we can wait.”

When Elder Wei heard this, he immediately felt something was wrong: ”You are really like a little fox, sincerely making trouble for me.”

”It also caused trouble for a group of leaders.”

Before he could be happy for too long after obtaining 50 million US dollars in foreign exchange, Lin Chenran directly told him that the price of the Apocalypse Tank was 2 million Yan coins.

This is really annoying!!!

Lin Chenran of course did not admit it and repeatedly denied it: ”Mr. Wei, I’m suing you for defamation!”

”You are slandering me!”

”How dare I cause trouble for your military leaders.”

”I just told you the price of the Apocalypse tank. We are selling one to Saudi Arabia in the Camel region for 1.5 million US dollars, and they are happy to accept it.”

”And the price we offered to the military was two million Yan coins.”

”This price is already very favorable, so we did not cause trouble for the military leaders, let alone you.”

Lin Chenran looked innocent.

”You also know that a cheap version of the T72 tank costs one million US dollars. The Apocalypse tank of our 077 Mechanical Military Factory is more powerful than it. It is reasonable to charge one and a half million US dollars. Moreover, ours is the top version, while the other party’s is the cheapest version.”

Lin Chenran quickly explained it clearly.

”So be it!”

”Hang up now. Remember to exchange 50 million US dollars for Yanbi when the time comes!!!”

After saying that, Mr. Wei hung up the phone.

Lin Chenran could only hear the sound of ”beep beep beep”.

”This……”

”When you pick up the rice bowl, you are my mother. When you lift the pot lid, you curse my mother!”

”Is there any justice in the world!!!”

Lin Chenran muttered speechlessly.

Then the corners of Lin Chenran’s mouth rose slightly.

Only he can do this!
The 077 Mechanical Military Factory cannot bypass the Yan Country’s military to reach cooperation with other countries.

……

At the same time, after hanging up the phone, Mr. Wei convened a meeting of high-level military officials.

As he had guessed, all the military leaders of Yan State became excited when they heard that the 077 Mechanical Military Factory was willing to exchange million US dollars for Yan coins.

”Haha, Lin Chenran is a pretty good kid!”

”Yeah, it’s really a surprise for us.”

”This 50 million US dollars in foreign exchange can solve many problems.”

They had bright smiles on their faces and kept praising Lin Chenran for being sensible!
The Lin family has made outstanding contributions to Yan State’s national defense.

Fifty million US dollars is a sum of foreign exchange that the Yan country military can use to purchase a batch of advanced military technologies and corresponding production lines to alleviate the Yan country military’s urgent need for advanced equipment.

Internationally, most transactions are settled in US dollars or gold.

However, before they could be happy for too long, Elder Wei dropped another bombshell: ”Commendations, there is one more thing I need to report to you. Regarding the price of the Apocalypse tank...”

”The price of the Apocalypse Tank?”

”Didn’t we estimate the price of the second-generation main battle tank at the bidding conference?”

”Stop keeping me in suspense and tell me now.”

Mr. Wei took a deep breath and said slowly: ”According to Lin Chenran’s request, the price of an Apocalypse tank is 2 million Yan coins.” In an instant, the entire conference room fell into silence, followed by a burst of ”swearing” one after another.

”Oh my god, why is the Apocalypse tank from the 077 Mechanical Military Factory so expensive? Didn’t Lin Chenran tell us the price at the Second Generation Main Battle Tank Reception Conference? Why did he suddenly change his mind now?”

”This price is ridiculous! It’s much more expensive than those main battle tanks abroad.”

”He really wants to make trouble for us. We want 077 million US dollars in foreign exchange from the Mechanical Military Factory. Does he want to eat our cars?”

”One Apocalypse tank is almost enough to buy two Type 80 tanks.”

When they heard the news, everyone couldn’t help but exclaim.

The Type 80 tank is already a relatively advanced main battle tank and also belongs to the second generation of main battle tanks.
The explanation given by Mr. Wei made them suddenly realize that the armor of this Apocalypse tank was improved compared with the previous second-generation main battle tank reception conference and became thicker.

This means it has stronger defenses and can better withstand enemy attacks.

In addition, the high price of the Apocalypse tank is also due to the 077 Mechanical Military Factory’s previous miscalculation of the price of its own basalt special steel.

”That can’t be so expensive!” A senior military official couldn’t help but question.

Such a price is a considerable expense for any army.

”Before, I was thinking of placing an order for 50 to 100 Apocalypse tanks, but now, how can I afford to place an order?”

Another senior executive said helplessly.

Originally they thought they could purchase a small batch of Apocalypse tanks.

Result: I can’t do it!
”This is just the price of the Apocalypse tank as a bare car. The subsequent installation of various ammunition and so on will be another huge expense.”

A senior military official from Yan State continued to add.

If these tanks are to be put into actual combat, a large amount of ammunition, accessories and other supplies will need to be purchased, which will undoubtedly further increase costs.

And Mr. Wei said calmly: ”The Apocalypse tank is worth the money. With the special basalt steel it is covered with, the 80mm smoothbore gun of the Type 120 tank cannot penetrate its defensive armor.”

After watching the duel between the ”spear and shield” of the T72 tank and Xuanwu special steel.

Although the Apocalypse Tank is a bit expensive, it is worth the money.

Some high-ranking military officials of the Yan State agreed with what Mr. Wei said. If the Apocalypse tank could crush the Type 80 tank, it would indeed be worth the money.

After all, even the armor-piercing bullets fired by the Russian T72 tank cannot penetrate the 100mm thick basalt special steel plate.

This time, the Apocalypse tank has been thickened in places that need protection, with a minimum thickness of 150mm.

The Apocalypse Tank can withstand artillery attacks from all directions.

”Old man Lin, your kid has given us another difficult problem.”

”The Apocalypse tank is so excellent, but our military doesn’t have it, and we see Saudi Arabia using it first in the Camel region.”

A Yan country military leader said in distress.

”Although the price is a bit expensive, it is still possible to purchase a small batch.”

”Especially since this is a powerful weapon, it needs to be guarded at the border.”

”I thought I could buy a tank regiment, but now...”

At this time, it was decided to purchase one regiment first. Anyway, the Apocalypse tanks would not be delivered until two years later, and by then the military expenditure of the Yan State might increase.

……

Three days passed in a flash, and Lin Chenran left with several senior executives of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory and headed north to the Russian Bear.

Of course, Lin Chenran went back home first, as his grandfather came to see him.

It is most likely related to the Apocalypse Tank, or the Saudi Arabia in the Camel area.
