Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 74: 1 day chapter, signing the contractChapter 74: One day round trip, signing of contract
Leo Gago was instantly excited when he heard this: ”Is it settled?”

“What’s the final price?”

Kovlevich first said, ”I’m sorry,” and then told Lin Chenran the offer he had made: ”Sixty-one million and five hundred thousand U.S. dollars.”

”General Gago, I’m sorry, but there is still a big gap from the 65 million US dollars we had previously envisioned.”

After hearing the price of 61.5 million US dollars, Leo Gago was very pleased: ”Kovlevich, you did a good job.”

”At least it’s an increase of 11.5 million US dollars on top of the original 50 million US dollars.”

Leo Gago did not mean to blame.

He also knew that the 077 Mechanical Arsenal certainly did not have that much money.

Sixty-one and a half million U.S. dollars have already ”squeezed dry” the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

”As for the distribution, I have already discussed it with the senior management. We will give you your share without any discount. I hope you can continue to use your expertise and deepen your cooperation with Lin Chenran.”

Leo Gago is well aware of the truth that ”If you want a horse to run fast, you have to feed it more.”

They also wanted to make more profits for themselves with Kovlevich.

and also……

Upon hearing this, Kovlevich was instantly excited: ”Thank you for the strong support from the leaders. I will continue to work hard to earn more benefits for everyone.”

Now Kovlevich must of course hold tightly to the ”feet” of Leo Gago and other senior Russian officials.

”Ok!”

”Take Lin Chenran to Nizhny Tagil tomorrow and sign a contract with the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau. I don’t want any changes.”

Leo Gago said lightly.

”General, don’t worry. I will arrange for them to go with me to Nizhny Tagil tomorrow and sign a contract with the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Works Design Bureau.”

Kovlevich made the same arrangement.

It is true that ”great minds think alike”, and both Kovlevich and others had the same idea.

I’m afraid the night will be long and full of dreams!
After Kovlevich and the other man chatted for a while, they hung up the phone.

The next morning, the sun was shining brightly and there was a gentle breeze.

Lin Chenran and his team members got up early, packed their luggage, and prepared to set off for the next stop - Nizhny Tagil.

Kovlevich had been waiting at the hotel entrance for a long time. When he saw them come out, he immediately went up to greet them: ”Good morning, Lin.”

”Good morning, Kovlevich, thank you for your arrangements. We are ready and can set off at any time.” Lin Chenran replied with a smile.

”Lin, I have made all the arrangements here as well.”

”We are taking a plane from our Far Eastern Fleet to Nizhny Tagil.”

The group took a car arranged by Kovlevich to the military airport used by the Far Eastern Fleet in Vladivostok.

About three hours later, they finally arrived in Nizhny Tagil, a famous industrial city in Russia with many large machinery factories and scientific research institutions.

The Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau is located in the center of the city, covering a large area and with complete facilities.

Led by Kovlevich, they came to the headquarters building of the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau.

At the same time, the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau also sent its own senior team to sign a contract with Lin Chenran.

This was a big deal for the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau.

Selling the technology and production line related to the 760-horsepower four-stroke V-12-cylinder V-46 diesel engine can bring rich benefits to the design bureau and obtain more funds for subsequent technology research and development. They attach great importance to this cooperation and sent their most elite team to connect with Lin Chenran.

Lin Chenran simply glanced through the contract and had a deep understanding of each of the terms therein.

At the same time, he also asked several senior executives of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal to review the various clauses in the contract to ensure that there were no ”traps” in the contract.

After a careful review, Lin Chenran believed that there was no problem with the contract.

So he signed his name on the contract without hesitation and stamped it.

The senior executives of the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau also quickly signed the contract.

In order to avoid being discovered by the KGB, Lin Chenran and others decided to complete the signing ceremony as soon as possible and leave Nizhny Tagil.

They didn’t want to leave any clues to the KGB agents so as not to cause themselves unnecessary trouble.

After signing the contract, Lin Chenran and his team quickly left the headquarters building of the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau.

They returned directly to Vladivostok on a special plane of the Far East Fleet, keeping a low profile along the way to avoid attracting other people’s attention.

On the plane, Lin Chenran expressed his gratitude to Kovlevich repeatedly.

Kovlevich responded with a smile: ”This is what I should do. We are friends.”

Lin Chenran smiled slightly: ”Yes, we are friends!”

Then, Lin Chenran leaned close to Kovlevich’s ear and whispered, ”Kovlevich, thank you for your help. As a friend, I won’t let you suffer any loss.”

”I transferred 500,000 US dollars into your original foreign bank account. I hope you don’t think it’s too little.”

”The main reason is that the working capital on the books of our 077 Mechanical Military Factory is almost used up, so...”

Hearing Lin Chenran’s words, Kovlevich’s eyes suddenly lit up, but he still said politely: ”How can I be so embarrassed?”

Lin Chenran patted his shoulder and said, ”Don’t be polite to me, Kovlevich. You have helped me so much. This little money is just a token of my appreciation.”

Kovlevich looked at Lin Chenran gratefully: ”Well, thank you, Davari.”

Lin Chenran smiled and said, ”You’re welcome. Just let me know if you need any help in the future.”

Kovlevich nodded: ”Sure.”

The two smiled at each other!!!
After it was obvious that the deal was done, both of them were very satisfied.

What made Kovlevich even more satisfied was that Lin Chenran was very good at dealing with people and directly deposited an additional amount of ”hard-earned money for services” into his foreign bank account.

This is absolutely awesome.

After hearing that Lin Chenran gave him another 500,000 US dollars, Kovlevich’s attitude towards him changed even more.

No matter how ”capable” Lin Chenran is, if Kovlevich is not enthusiastic, when his ”financial sponsor” leaves, then...

After several hours of journey, Lin Chenran and others finally returned to the Far East Fleet’s dedicated airport in Vladivostok.

”Kovlevich, tonight, I’ll treat you to a meal at the Red Romantic Tavern. Don’t leave until you’re drunk!!!”

Lin Chenran directly invited Kovlevich to the Red Romantic Tavern and invited him to have a drink.

It is worth celebrating that they were able to spend $760 million to acquire the 12-horsepower four-stroke V-46-cylinder V- diesel engine from the Ural Locomotive and Rolling Stock Plant Design Bureau.

Although the price is much higher than Lin Chenran’s previous estimate, it is all worth it.
