Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 49 Mutation

Chapter 49 Mutation
However, the intruder’s warning quickly spread to every corner of the nest.

When he crawled out of the sand, the screams of Zerg warriors sounded all around at the same time.

The slit rock spiders with their fangs and claws splayed out from the caves on the front and back, surrounding him.

Lin Ye stood there without moving, but immediately raised the shotgun he carried with him and quickly shot around.

With the help of the [Firearm Mastery] skill, corrosive lead bullets destroyed the appendages of the insects, partially penetrated the armor covering the body surface, and poured into their mouthparts.

The rock spiders rushing from all directions stopped within less than a hundred meters.

Then he shook his body and fell to the ground. Thick body fluids slowly flowed out of his mouthparts. It seemed that he had completely lost his life.

More and more rock spiders came crowding in, and the already fragile passage couldn’t bear such a heavy weight, so it collapsed again.

Caught off guard, Lin Ye fell into an inclined tunnel.

The ground is covered with slippery slime, it seems that the titan worm has just finished digging, and the sedimentary layer has not yet solidified.

And he slid uncontrollably deeper into the ground, and finally hit a hard rock wall at the end of the tunnel before he could stop.

The shotgun in his hand was lost somewhere during the fall.

Lin Ye directly called out the system and bought a new AA-12 automatic shotgun in the mall.

While special shotguns in the backpack can be used, this unmodified shotgun can be extremely vulnerable due to the different chamber pressures produced.

But at the moment, I don’t care so much, because there are dense crawling sounds in the passage behind.

Lin Ye fired several shots at the rock wall, then bought a bunch of explosives for fixed-point blasting from the mall, and filled them into the smoking pothole.

After everything was ready, he rushed to the corner of the tunnel and lay down on the ground with his head in his hands.

A few seconds later, with a deafening loud noise, the rock wall was directly exploded, and the gushing air waves pushed all the newly emerged rock spiders out of the tunnel.

Lin Ye stood up, and before he could sigh, a strange light shone from the hole behind him.

He leaned on the wall and slowly moved forward to observe, and found that the space inside the cave entrance was not very large, and the curved rock wall was full of crystal clear spars.

Moreover, there is a pool of viscous liquid rippling inside, and there is also a colorful luster shining in it.

Before he could tell what substance it was, the slowly flowing liquid suddenly extended two tentacles toward him.

Lin Ye couldn’t dodge in time, and was instantly restrained by the waist, and then quickly pulled into the cave under his huge strength.

After being pulled in, he could see the whole picture clearly.

The cave wall covered with spars, while emitting a strange light, also wraps the entire space, similar to an oval eggshell.

And the magic is that there seems to be no gravity in this space, and it is a completely weightless environment.

Astonished, he was pulled into the liquid suspended in the very center.

The liquid is warm, slightly salty and has a special aroma.

In this strange liquid, there is also a black-purple oval-shaped object suspended, and all the surrounding rays of light are absorbed by it.

Seeing this scene, Lin Ye suddenly opened his eyes wide. He waved his arms and struggled to leave this place.

This, this is actually the egg that breeds the queen!
This turned out to be the hatching pool of the insect nest!

Although he had never entered the insect nest in his previous life, he was fortunate enough to read a manual, which recorded the specific conditions inside the insect nest in detail.

On the title page of the manual, there is a blurry picture file, which shows a black and purple oval insect egg, no different from the one in front of you.

Just when Lin Ye turned around and wanted to leave, the eggs suddenly burst into a dazzling halo.

A powerful will was released from it, and turned into a series of energy pulses that penetrated his body and shot out in all directions.

In an instant, one after another roars spread throughout the entire insect nest.

A few seconds later, the halo expanded at an astonishing speed until it completely enveloped Lin Ye, and the liquid surrounding the eggs also rotated synchronously.

The abnormal reaction of the body attracted the attention of the system, and it instinctively wanted to isolate this strange will out of the body.

But the halo rippling around, as if he suddenly became conscious, turned into streams of water and wrapped around Lin Ye’s arms.

Immediately afterwards, a chill like falling into an ice cave came from his fingertips and swept across his whole body.

At the same time, all the information contained in the eggs were injected into Lin Ye’s brain.

Knowing that the situation was abnormal, he yelled that it was wrong, and wanted to mobilize the system defense, but it was too late.

The system can’t stop the invasion of this powerful will at all.

At this moment, he could only watch helplessly as his consciousness was gradually eroded, and then his eyes darkened, and he passed out.
.
After an unknown amount of time, Lin Ye finally opened his eyes from the haze.

He immediately mobilized the system to check the current status, but the screen flashed in front of him, and he actually appeared in a cold sea.

He couldn’t make any sound, couldn’t activate the system, and his vision was blurry.

I can only let my body drift in the boundless sea water, not knowing where to go.

After waiting like this for a long time, the originally blurred vision suddenly became clear.

Lin Ye saw many people walking on the sea. They were lined up in a regular array, wearing strange and uniform costumes, and their hands exuded inexplicable halos.

Behind these people, there are ancient buildings flying close to the water. The sails spread out on the side are fluttering against the wind, and the hulls of the ships are carved with lifelike totems of fierce beasts.

Is this a dream?

Lin Ye, who had never seen such a scene before, subconsciously convinced himself that it was a fantasy, but the strong impact of his senses made him clearly understand that this was not a dream.

I have to say that the scene in front of me is terribly real, like the reappearance of a certain memory.

He could even hear the sound of drums and horns on the water.

Even... can feel the heavy breathing of these people.

Just as Lin Ye was about to get close to the sea and wanted to observe closely, a gap suddenly opened in the sky, and dazzling light shot out from it, covering him through the sparkling sea.

While he was still floating, he was suddenly out of breath and subconsciously controlled his limbs to swim to the surface.

However, the body suspended in the cold sea water still refused to obey his orders.

Suddenly, the surroundings became quiet at some point, only a hazy shout echoed in his ears.

The timbre is constantly changing, sometimes male and sometimes female, sometimes old and sometimes young.

At the same time, there was a roar from the bottom of the sea, and sea currents came from all directions, forming a high-speed rotating vortex around him. His body, which could not be controlled like a puppet with its strings cut off, was dragged into the depths of the sea.

”Lin Ye, Lin Ye...”

The shouting became louder and louder. Under the powerful mental shock, Lin Ye opened his eyes suddenly, and took a deep breath involuntarily.

He looked around, but there was no sea water around him, and even the weird liquid he had seen before disappeared.

He was lying on the ground full of spars at the moment, and his system panel was suspended in the holographic projection spread out in front of him.
