Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 43 Troubled

Chapter 43 Troubled
Lin Ye took out the telescope and quickly adjusted the focus, and then a white cloud of smoke gradually appeared in the field of vision.

According to past experience, this phenomenon indicates that there are titan worms digging tunnels underground.

The corrosive slime on their bodies can dissolve the earth, rocks and gravel, releasing white smoke while forming a calcium carbonate-like deposit.

Although the skin of this kind of creature is extremely tough, ordinary deflagration and shooting can’t cause much damage, but judging from the range of white smoke rising, this seems to be just a young titan worm.

At present, Lin Ye has a batch of special weapons and equipment, so it is not particularly difficult to deal with.

However, he didn’t want to wait until the Titan worm broke through the defense line before dealing with it.

It is the last word to strike first.

Lin Ye informed the other people in the fortification of this information, and after drawing up the battle plan, he began to inspect his equipment.

The battery of the mechanical exoskeleton can also provide three hours of battery life. If nothing happens, the power should be enough for him to kill seven in and out of the zombies.

To be on the safe side, he also brought a pack full of induction grenades, and mounted five 16-hole shotgun bullet bags on the waist of the tactical vest.

The backpack also contains a lot of extra special ammunition and supplies in case of emergency.

Wearing a mechanical exoskeleton, Lin Ye’s mobility has been greatly improved. He easily climbed over the fortifications and rushed to the periphery of the defense line under the cover of everyone.

After arriving at the predetermined location, he hid behind a bunker.

When the Titan Worm was about 200 meters away from the defense line, he threw a burning stick towards the position where Bai Yan was, and made an attack gesture to everyone in the ring fortification.

Afterwards, several heavy tanks parked in front of the communication facility all aimed in the direction of the burning rods.

A violent explosion occurred at the target location, accompanied by black-red firelight and deafening roar, and a violent tremor was heard from the ground at the same time.

The Titan Worm that was about to pass by was blown up.

Its bloated and mucus-covered front half flew up under the impact of the shock wave, and then hit the ground heavily.

The armor-piercing projectile did some damage to the juvenile worm, but it was not fatal and only had an enraged effect.

And the real purpose is to allow this big bug to come out of the underground tunnel.

Lin Ye, who was hiding aside, saw that the target creature had appeared on the surface, so he quickly climbed over the cover and rushed out.

He throws decoy grenades along the way to distract the rest of the zombies and swarm, and takes the opportunity to quickly break through the encirclement and get close to the weakened titan worm.

At this time, the Titan Worm in the distance also woke up from the dizziness caused by the explosion. It raised its head in anger and rushed towards the communication facility in the center of the base at full speed.

The mucus that emerges from the surface of the body melts all the gravel rocks passing by. If you get close enough to it, you can even hear the ”squeaky” sound of gravel dissolution clearly.

Seeing this situation, instead of slowing down his running pace, Lin Ye gradually increased his speed, and at the same time took out the Swarm Buster-870MCS shotgun on his back.

He originally wanted to bring the MPS/AA-12 shotgun, because compared with the pump-action 870MCS, the former can automatically fire continuously and has a large-capacity drum, which has obvious advantages in this kind of breakout battle.

However, after a series of modifications, the latter can use special shotguns filled with biochemical agents, which have a higher killing effect on the swarm.

So under all kinds of entanglements, he still chose the 870MCS shotgun.

After all, what he pursues is a precise and fatal strike, not ineffective firepower output.

As he thought about it, the Titan Worm was right in front of him.

It lifted its upper body abruptly, opened its mouthparts covered with sharp barbs, and bit at it at an extremely fast speed.

Lin Ye didn’t panic, dodged the attack with a sliding shovel, and at the same time raised the shotgun and blasted it directly on the head.

On the edge of the titan worm’s mouthparts, there are many crystal-like grainy protrusions, which are their most sensitive sensory organs. Once they are destroyed, they will no longer be able to accurately judge the position of their prey.

The lead beads in the fragmentation bomb form a conical killing space under high pressure.

The biological agent wrapped in the lead bullet will cause a secondary explosion due to high temperature and pressure, causing a wider range of splash damage.

In this brutal way, it can more quickly and effectively corrode and dissolve the cell tissue of Zerg creatures.

Just like the titan worm charging head-on in front of him, after Lin Ye fired three shots in a row, his head was directly injured and his sensory organs were completely lost.

The corroded and dissolved cells were organized into a translucent liquid, mixed with the highly corrosive mucus on the body surface, and continuously flowed on the ground.

It roared angrily, frantically swung its body and crushed it around, trying to fight back at the enemy in this way.

But for Lin Ye, the best time to attack is when the Titan worm opens its mouthparts.

He immediately took out the grenade bag full of induction grenades, pulled out part of the safety latch, and threw it into the bug’s mouth forcefully.

A few seconds later, gray-green smoke overflowed from the titan worm’s mouth.

Immediately afterwards, its huge body shook violently, and then fell heavily to the ground. Several wounds were split on its body, and flames spewed out continuously.

The surrounding zombies and low-level insects were affected by the inducing pheromone, and they all surrounded it and began to bite its body.

Even a titan worm with a tough surface couldn’t withstand such damage, not to mention that its body had already been burned by biochemical agents, and the flames from the explosion began to spread on its body surface.

Dying, it began to twist its body with difficulty, but at the same time as it struggled, it caused more damage to the surrounding corpses.

To some extent, it can be regarded as indirectly helping Lin Ye wipe out the enemies.

Not long after, the juvenile titan worm let out a final cry of grief, fell to the ground and completely lost its vitality.

And under the roasting of the flames, it turned into a lump of coke that sparkled with sparks.

The task was successfully completed, and Lin Ye quickly left the scene. Relying on the powerful performance of the mechanical exoskeleton, he climbed over the explosion-proof wall and ran all the way back to the circular fortification.

But before he declared victory in the battle, the ground suddenly trembled violently.

All the weathered rocks in the distance collapsed, raising smoke and dust tens of meters high.

Vaguely, he saw a huge monster.

It was an adult titan worm.

The situation does not seem to be as simple as imagined.

Through the telescope, Lin Ye found that there were abnormal phenomena in the southeast, southwest, northwest and other directions of the base, and smoke and dust were all raised in the surrounding desert.

A moment later, several adult titan worms drilled out from the ground, raised the front half of their bodies high, and the position of the super base let out a dull roar.

Hey, what’s going on?
Lin Ye put down the binoculars, shocked everywhere.

According to past experience, these worms will not appear in one area at the same time.

But there may be only one explanation for such a large-scale operation now.

There’s a bug nest nearby!
