Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 7 The Safe Zone Is No Longer

Chapter 7 The Safe Zone Is No Longer
Qin Lie, who was sitting at the dining table, still couldn’t fully accept the fact in front of him.

In his perception, technologies like floating islands and portals only exist in various science fiction works.

He asked with some difficulty: ”Could it be that this island was also picked up by you?”

”You can also understand it that way.” Lin Ye responded.

While talking, he went to the kitchen, took out some cans, dumped them on a plate and put them in the microwave to heat them up.

In his opinion, this system that fell from the sky is indeed similar to the one that was picked up.

However, when he thought about spending more than 20 years in exchange for a system, he always felt a little bit at a loss.

Upon hearing this answer, Qin Lie revealed an expression of disbelief.

But Lin Ye ignored his reaction and changed the subject in time: ”By the way, what did you just say about the safe zone?”

Qin Lie came back to his senses, and hurriedly nodded in response:

”That’s right, the survivors who stayed in Yancheng couldn’t break through the siege of zombies because they didn’t have any equipment, so they could only hide in a temporary shelter and wait for rescue.

Since you have such strength, why do you still stay in the blockade and not go to the safe zone to help more people? ”

”Yes, but it’s not necessary.” Lin Ye opened a can, and then continued,
”In the apocalypse, people will do a lot of unreasonable things in order to survive, and I don’t want to aim the gun at my own people.

What’s more, the troops stationed on the outskirts of Yancheng had already evacuated the residents with them, and now the areas within hundreds of kilometers outside the blockade had already turned into empty cities! ”

”The blockade has turned into an empty city? Why?” Qin Lie asked very curiously. This was completely different from the news he had learned before.

One hour after the disaster, the whole city lost power supply, but the old-fashioned radio with dry batteries could still be used, and he learned about the current situation from the radio.

Previously, the military also mentioned that survivors in the urban area should go to a safe area outside the blockade as soon as possible.

Why is it now that the outside is an empty city, but there is no relevant information on the radio?
”Because the whole country is retreating to the hinterland of the mainland, the government will build new joint cities in central China, northwest, and southwest regions, so as to shrink the defense line and concentrate forces and resources to deal with alien creatures such as zombies.”

This planned retreat proposal was proposed by Lin Ye in a secret meeting an hour before the catastrophe occurred.

Although some sacrifices will be made in the process, this is already the greatest measure of preservation.

After all, there are two portals in Huaguo, located in Yancheng in the north and Hudu in the south.

Qin Lie was still puzzled, his eyes widened, he stepped forward and asked:

”Did the coastal cities just give up like this? There are densely populated towns over there, and there must be no time to evacuate!”

Something like a large-scale evacuation, especially in the apocalypse, will definitely be accompanied by riots and conflicts, and the efficiency will be greatly reduced.

With the current rate of zombie spread, some people will definitely leave the main force and stay in the urban area, not to mention some people living in mountainous areas with inconvenient transportation.

But Lin Ye shook his head aside, and said in a slightly mysterious way:
”Don’t underestimate Huaguo’s transportation capacity, you may not believe it, including Shanghai, the residents of the surrounding large cities were all evacuated in just two weeks.

Although some unpleasantness occurred during the process, it was quickly resolved.

At present, there are only hundreds of thousands of combat troops left in the coastal cities, but judging from the current time, they should also be preparing to shrink the line of defense. ”

As he said, but the terrain of Shanghai in the south is complicated, and the surrounding hills and mountains are criss-crossed. Fortifying the key pass can greatly prevent the speed of alien creatures from spreading.

The army can drop several 30-ton equivalent nuclear bombs every three days, bombing the portal in the center of Shanghai in turn, annihilating most of the zombies around the portal, and buying a lot of time for the masses to evacuate!

But Yancheng in the north is different. It is located on a plain with a well-developed road network and straight and wide streets. Alien creatures spread very quickly. Before they intercepted and dropped nuclear weapons, zombies had already rushed into the urban area.

The zombie virus spreads rapidly among the chaotic crowd through biting, and the situation becomes increasingly critical.

If this phenomenon is not contained, they will invade inland areas in a very short period of time, and it will be even more difficult to deal with by then.

The reason why Lin Ye still stays here is to cooperate with the government forces to divert the number of zombies in the first stage of the catastrophe, so that they can organize residents to evacuate faster.

According to the division of the city, there are a total of sixteen main roads leading to the outside world around the portal.

Among them, there are two parallel roads leading to the northeast in the north area, which are guarded by Lin Ye alone.

The location projected by the current villa is the place where tens of thousands of zombies must pass.

It was also for this reason that Lin Ye received military support from the government forces, and through this, he quickly gained a large number of survival points.

As for why the people above believed him so much, it was thanks to what happened when he joined the legion in his previous life.

Lin Ye accidentally learned that Huaguo has a crisis response team that has never been announced to the public, which includes top domestic scientific research forces, ministers of various departments, and political leaders in major war zones.

Once a crisis occurs, the response team will analyze the situation as soon as possible, make a judgment, and issue mobilization orders quickly.

This is also the reason why China suffered the least loss compared to other countries in the world when the catastrophe occurred in the previous life.

And he secretly mastered the secret contact information of the group manager.

Although he lost all previous strength after rebirth, his more than 20 years of doomsday experience and the indelible memories in his mind are more precious than anything else.

He only needs to provide some key information and explain the catastrophe process one by one, and time will naturally verify everything.

While talking, a table of meals was ready, even though it was just some simple canned food.

Braised pork, braised pork elbow, spicy hairtail fish, braised bamboo shoots, yellow peaches in sugar water, plus curry chicken with self-heating rice.

Before Qin Lie could sigh, Lin Ye took out another dozen beers from the refrigerator, put them on the table, and raised his hand to signal:

”At the end of the day, I don’t have anything delicious here, so you just make do with it!”

After finishing speaking, he tore off the pull ring, brought the foaming beer can to his mouth, and took a few swigs.

Seeing this table of food, tears welled up in Qin Lie’s eyes.

This guy is not afraid of being hot, so he directly picked up a chopstick of braised pork and put it in his mouth with white rice.

After the canned braised pork is heated, the tempting aroma sealed in the meat is fully stimulated. The taste is soft and glutinous, fat but not greasy, and the soup is salty and fragrant. It is a first-class meal tool.

But after chewing for two times, he suddenly stopped moving and said something vaguely with a cry in his voice.

After listening for a long time, Lin Ye finally understood what Qin Lie meant, which was about his sister.

Changed the name of the supporting role. The Li Yan from before had the same intonation as the male protagonist’s name. If you pronounce it too much, it’s easy to confuse it. Zhou Sisi is too long to remember.
