Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 12 Crisis on the Road

Chapter 12 Crisis on the Road
The time soon came to four o’clock in the afternoon.

The originally clear sky was now covered with jet-black clouds, and the gradually dimming light made people feel depressing.

The alien portal in the center of the urban area surged with majestic energy, and the thick black clouds were also attracted by it, converging into a huge vortex.

And the way back is even more difficult. The zombies affected by the radiation energy of the portal are undergoing alienation at a speed visible to the naked eye, and the number is increasing.

If you just rely on this off-road vehicle to force your way into the group of corpses, you might be afraid of an accident.

Lin Ye waved his hand to open the system interface and check the survival points:
[Survival points: 235600*]

The walking corpses in the shopping mall were cleared before, and the zombies near the projection of the villa were eradicated later, which increased a lot of points.

But according to the plan, after the second stage of the catastrophe starts, he will upgrade the floating island to level two as soon as possible, and then he will need 12 survival points.

Afterwards, there will be a large amount of expenses for building facilities and expanding the land. As a result, the landlord’s family will not have enough surplus food.

After thinking about it again and again, Lin Ye decided not to upgrade the Paramount Marauder, but to make a temporary modification.

One is because the points may not be enough, and if something happens later, he may not even have remedial measures.

Secondly, he wants to buy a Type 09 infantry fighting vehicle for free. After all, this type of tank has high basic attributes and many functional modules. Subsequent upgrades can bring unexpected and amazing effects.

It’s just that I didn’t expect that the transportation in the military base was gone, and the only military armored vehicle was blown up by the survivors, so I could only try my luck later.

Lin Ye used his mind to call up the system, clicked on the properties panel of the Paramount armored vehicle, and began to add accessories to it.

He installed a small vehicle-mounted fire control radar in the car, installed it on the instrument panel in front of the co-pilot’s seat, and added a radar display.

An M2 heavy machine gun and two grenade launchers are installed on the top of the carriage. The weapons are set to automatically consume survival points to replenish the ammunition magazine.

[After the accessories are selected, the survival points will be deducted: 52000]

[Survival points deducted successfully, changing operation is being performed...]

Accompanied by the system prompt, the holographic projection instantly enveloped the vehicle body, and the light beams weaved out the prototype of weapons and equipment, and then cast a layer of illusory light and shadow.

In just a few seconds, amidst everyone’s astonishment, all the accessories of the Predator were installed.

Qin Lie, who was sitting in the co-pilot, turned his head quietly and carefully looked at Lin Ye who was stirring the air beside him. I don’t know if it was an illusion. Unlike the first time he saw him, there seemed to be some subtle changes in this guy.

At the same time, a large red dot appeared on the radar screen on the co-pilot’s dashboard.

The fire control system locked on the surrounding zombies, and the M2 heavy machine gun began to roar and output firepower. For a while, the dense impact of shell casings on the top of the carriage could be heard endlessly.

The quadruple grenade launchers on the rear side are no less impressive, and there are continuous crackling sounds from the street.

Through the reversing mirrors on both sides, you can clearly see the zombies flying up and down in mid-air.

Under the suppression of fierce firepower, the streets became much smoother in an instant.

But just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief, the 9 cm thick bulletproof windshield in front of him suddenly burst open.

Lin Ye looked closely and found a huge building debris stuck in the cracked glass. An inch further forward, the steel bars wrapped in the concrete were about to poke the two people sitting in the cab.

Qin Lie grabbed the handrail of the car, kicked his legs hard, and kicked away the building debris and the shattered windshield.

Objects blocking the view were cleared away, and Lin Ye looked out of the car.

On the ruins of the building in the distance, stood several tall zombies with extremely thick arms.

He focused his gaze, and the Doomsday Fortress system began to identify the target creature:
[Faction: Zombies]

[Introduction: Tier [-] Zombie, Thrower, Evolution Product of Normal Zombie]

[Characteristics: Mutations in the bones of the whole body, the limbs have extremely powerful muscle fibers, the feet are shortened due to the shift of the body’s center of gravity, and the movement speed decreases]

[Ability: Can lift and throw objects that are several times its own weight, and the flying speed of the object is close to the speed of sound]

[You can get survival points by killing: 300[+25%]]

His eyelids twitched, and he suddenly had a question in his heart: No, the time hasn’t come yet, how come the zombies have already evolved!
The catastrophe process is obviously much faster than the previous life!
While thinking about it, those strong throwers picked up the reinforced concrete fragments on the side again, aimed at the moving off-road vehicle, and threw them over with energy.

The movement seemed to be unpleasant, but when the fragment left his hand, there was a sound of breaking through the air.

Seeing this, Lin Ye quickly turned the steering wheel and turned the front of the car sideways.

The flying object hit the car body heavily, creating a burst of sparks, which was as powerful as a rocket.

Fortunately, the body armor of the Marauder was strong enough, and under such an attack, only a few dents appeared inside the compartment.

However, the huge impact caused the body to roll slightly. If you continue to carry it hard, you might hit the car and roll over.

Lin Ye stared intently at the road ahead, turned his head slightly and said to Qin Lie beside him:
”That thing is too troublesome, solve it!”

”understand!”

Although the scene in front of him was really frightening, Qin Lie still gritted his teeth to overcome the fear in his heart. With trembling hands, he installed the scope on the SCAR-L’s gun body, and then pointed the gun to shoot.

After firing more than a dozen bullets in a row, the monster in the distance only suffered some skin trauma. It roared and continued to throw the building fragments in its hands.

Qin Lie cursed, continued to pull the trigger, and at the same time shouted to Lin Ye beside him:
”Brother Lin, rifle bullets don’t work at all!”

At this time, Cheng Bei, who was sitting in the carriage, grabbed the handrail and staggered up.

He grabbed the driver’s seat and asked lightly, ”Do you have a spy?”

Sniper rifle?
Lin Ye frowned slightly, he didn’t have that stuff.

He is not used to this kind of weapon, and close combat is the romance of a man, so he only has an assault rifle, a shotgun, or a heavy machine gun.

However, he didn’t bother to explain. Instead, he directly opened the weapon interface of the system mall, clicked on the [Sniper Rifle] tab, and bought the first gun on the list.

Then, according to the system prompt, I bought ten boxes at once, a total of two hundred armor-piercing incendiary bombs.

【Barrett M82A1M purchased successfully】

[12.7×99mm armor-piercing incendiary bomb purchased successfully]

[Deduction of Survival Points: 36000]

”Hey!” Lin Ye didn’t look at the price carefully just now, but when the bill popped up, he was really shocked.

Am I mistaken that a sniper rifle is so expensive?
Having seen the previous scene, Cheng Bei looked at the bullets falling from the light and shadow, and did not express much surprise at the moment.

He changed positions with Qin Lie, and then directly placed the sniper rifle on the dashboard, loaded the bolt neatly, and opened the scope to aim.

He put his hand on the butt of the gun, and his lips buzzed: ”Steady the car!”

Before Lin Ye could answer, there was a loud bang, and the whole car shook violently.

Accompanied by the scorching air blast from the flame arrester, the pungent smell of gunpowder instantly filled the compartment.

The thrower standing on the ruins of the building in the distance, before he could throw the gravel in his hand, the ugly head on his chest was directly blasted into pieces, the rest of his body struggled and shook, and then fell heavily on the ground.
