Chapter 39 Material Storage Point

Chapter 39 Material Storage Point

”Where are we going?”

Lin Ye asked Qin Lie who was sitting in the driver’s seat, then opened the weapon box and took out a brand new shotgun.

Qin Lie held the steering wheel and said without taking his eyes off:
”The commander of the base asked us to go to the nearest material storage point, the map is at Sister Nan’s place!”

Lin Ye took the map from Nan Xiao and glanced at the triangle symbol on it.

According to the scale conversion, the distance between the two places is about 12 kilometers. At the speed of armored vehicles, it takes up to 10 minutes to reach the storage point.

However, according to the colonel, the storage point was captured by zombies before.

I don’t know the specific situation over there at present, and the situation may be equally critical.

Lin Ye put away the map, sat on the seat, took out the special shotgun from the material box next to it, and assembled it into the magazine.

At this time, Cheng Bei was also loading the magazine. While he lowered his head to stuff the bullet, he said:
”It’s the same as what we’ve encountered before, it’s all collapsing from the inside, and there’s no chance of resistance!”

He raised his head to look at Lin Ye, and continued: ”And that zombie just now looks a little bit wrong!”.

”That’s not a zombie. I’ll explain it to you in detail later when I have time.” Lin Ye looked at the other party, and the movements in his hands paused.

I don’t know if it was Cheng Bei’s words that made him think too much.

Linked to all kinds of things that happened in the previous life, Lin Ye suddenly felt that the purpose of the alien creatures raging everywhere might not be so pure.

Not just to seize Blue Star’s land and resources, not just to reproduce.

At that time, the Academy of Sciences of the Human Federation also pointed out in a research report that the giant portal that first descended on the blue star was not a technological product of the Zerg or any other race.

Behind this catastrophe, there is a secret hidden!
In his previous life, he was almost able to touch the truth, but it’s a pity...

Limited by technology and body, human beings cannot go beyond the limit after all.

It is ridiculous that the fleet that assembled the strongest combat force of the Human Federation back then could not survive for a minute!
Lin Ye finished replenishing the ammunition, leaned in the middle of the carriage, and looked at the sky outside through the narrow bulletproof window.

Although the time on the watch has reached noon, the sky outside is still dark and gray.

This phenomenon will be more common in the days to come, because after the volume of the blue star expands, the rotation speed will decrease synchronously, and the rotation period will change from 24 hours a day to 36 hours.

This may be an extremely painful thing for office workers, after all, they have to work twice as much or even more hours a day.

Fortunately, there is no painful work in the doomsday, only survival.

After bumping for more than ten minutes, the convoy finally arrived at the nearest material storage point.

There are indeed some zombies wandering inside, but the number is not very large, and it will be cleaned up soon.

This seems to be different from what the colonel said in the meeting.

Lin Ye opened the hatch and before leaving, he specifically warned Hassan to stay in the car and not move around, lest something happen and the rescue would be time-consuming and laborious.

After getting an affirmative reply from the other party, he got out of the car with everyone and joined the Erikan army who had escaped from the sky.

Although it was said that they escaped from birth, not many people actually survived.

Among the more than ten vehicles following behind, only more than 100 soldiers came down one after another.

Major Sim stepped out of the armored vehicle. He looked at the faces of the soldiers in the distance who had not yet faded their fright, and suddenly felt a little untenable.

He moved his lips and said in a trembling voice:

”In the base, there used to be thousands of troops, but now there are only so few left?”

If it weren’t for Lin Ye’s support, this guy might collapse to the ground and be unable to get up again.

The colonel walked over slowly. He walked in too much haste just now. He didn’t even have time to put on his body armor or even his jacket. He was only wearing a thin shirt at the moment, and a pistol with empty bullets was pinned to his waist.

The colonel patted his shoulder and sighed:
”The incident happened too suddenly, not only the zombies in the residential area, but also the ferocious insects. Many people were killed before they could react!”

Lin Ye also nodded silently.

In fact, there were not many alien creatures who attacked at the beginning, mainly Tier [-] zombies-stalkers, but the scene was too chaotic, and the civilians running around made it impossible for the army to shoot decisively.

The trouble really started when the rogues infiltrated the interior of the base.

What’s more, there are powerful silicon-based creatures hidden in it, and they know very well where the weaknesses of the human army are.

After hearing the call of the second-order zombie-thrower, the crowd of zombies and the Zerg that came out of the ground were the real devastating blow.

Putting aside the sad topic, under the command of the colonel, everyone rearranged their equipment, and then divided into several teams to enter the storage point.

In less than a quarter of an hour, all the zombies wandering inside were cleaned up.

Everyone gathered in front of the warehouse again. Lin Ye looked sideways at the colonel and asked:

”There are not many zombies here. Basically, a small team can solve them perfectly. The situation is different from what you said before!”

The Colonel seemed very strange about this, too.

But just now he led a small team to check around the storage point, and indeed found that it was empty, except for a dozen zombies, there was nothing else.

He said in surprise to everyone: ”Before this place was full of zombies, and there were wandering bugs nearby, but now for some reason...”

Lin Ye followed his gaze and looked at the surrounding undulating sand dunes and rock walls.

In the dim light, there is only sand and dust blown by the wind in the desert.

He suddenly realized that it seemed too quiet here, except for the whistling wind, there was no other sound!
But after taking a closer look with a telescope, he didn’t see anything weird.

In doubt, the colonel had carefully entered the security key to open the gate of the storage point.

The heavy gate, protected by three layers of alloy steel, slowly rose after three beeps.

The piled up material boxes gradually appeared in front of everyone.

Firearms, ammunition, food, medical supplies, etc., all the necessary military supplies are here.

Even when the incandescent tubes on the top of the warehouse were lit up one by one, they saw the ”big baby” covered by a dust cloth.

There were eight heavy tanks, staggered forward and backward, all the way to the end of the warehouse.

Lin Ye stepped forward and lifted the dustproof cloth, revealing the original appearance of the tank.

M1A2SEP main battle tank, this is Erikan’s most advanced digital tank, equipped with a second-generation thermal imaging system, a commander’s independent thermal imaging camera, a true-color flat-screen display, a digital topographic map, a thermal control system, and a complete set of digital equipment .

The fire control system and protection level are very advanced, and it also has strong maneuverability, which can basically crush all the way through low-level zombie groups.

While everyone was counting supplies, the colonel had finished putting on his equipment neatly. He climbed onto the hatch cover on top of the tank and stretched his arms facing everyone.

Judging from this momentum, it seems that he wants to give an impassioned speech.

”Citizens, friends, we are gathered here now...”

really!

Lin Ye couldn’t hear these embarrassing words the most, so he directly raised his hand to interrupt the other party’s speech, and said bluntly:

”Mr. Commander, if you have anything to say, just say it!”

The colonel smiled awkwardly, put away his hand raised in the air, coughed lightly, and continued:
”I hope that everyone can bring these equipments, return to the base with me, and repel those alien creatures!”

This sentence surprised everyone present, and Lin Ye couldn’t help but frowned and cast a puzzled look.
