Chapter 35 A business that makes no money

Not long after walking, Lin Ye saw many bottomless potholes in the center of the base.

These are passages dug by the Zerg. In order to transport a large number of soldiers, they surprise the human army from the rear. This is their usual trick.

Moreover, in general bases, there is no effective defense method at all. Once the defense fails, the entire base will suffer disaster.

”When was the alien creature’s first round of attack? What round of defense is this?”

Lin Ye squatted down, broke out some sand beside the hole, and rubbed it on his hands.

This is much stronger than the cave seen in the convoy that was attacked before, and it is enough to support the bugs to run amok on the ground.

If high explosives are buried at the entrance of the cave, although it can be blown up, the entire base will definitely be destroyed in landslides, and these Erikan soldiers will never agree.

Of course, even if they were blown up, it would be of no use. The next round of attacks would only delay their progress slightly.

At this time, Major Sim stood by and briefly stated what happened in the base:
”The first round of attack was in the early hours of the morning, and we were still reorganizing the army. Fortunately, there were enough firearms and ammunition in the base, so we defended it.

But then there will be a round of attacks every two hours, and the number will increase, and the attacks will become more and more fierce.

I don’t know how long we can last! ”

”Since I’m here, don’t worry, I still have some experience in dealing with these alien creatures!”

Although Lin Ye was joking, his expression was extremely serious.

Just imagine, if these alien creatures can’t attack for a long time, what will they send over?

Perhaps because they heard the news about Major Sim’s return, the small conference room was already full of people.

Sitting in the center of the round table is the base commander. Looking at the military rank on his shoulders, he has reached the rank of colonel.

After preliminary conversations with a group of officers, Lin Ye learned of the difficulties the base was facing.

The situation was worse than he expected.

In the past half a month, refugees continued to pour into the military base, and the food supplies that were not much were consumed in a short period of time.

At present, the only thing that keeps everyone alive is the self-heating military rations that are about to bottom out in the warehouse, and in recent days, it has become more and more common for multiple people to share a share.

In addition, the waves of corpses in the early stage of the catastrophe had seriously damaged the vitality of Erikon’s army. As a result, within half a day after the earthquake ended, a large number of alien creatures besieged the base.

According to them, the current ammunition reserves can last at most one round of attack, and they need to get supplies as soon as possible.

Of course, after the catastrophe, the colonel didn’t just sit still, he also actively sought rescue, but the communication equipment couldn’t reach the headquarters at all.

Even if you want to go out to find supplies, without the support of satellite GPS navigation, it is easy to get lost in the desert Gobi, so those helicopters simply become decorations.

Lin Ye spread out the map Hassan gave him on the table, pointed to the strongholds of armed groups around him, and said doubtfully:
”Could it be that in the future, you can only rely on the armed groups scattered outside? Believe me, this is not a long-term solution at all!”

In order to survive, everyone will risk their lives, so this method of looting and looting needs to take a lot of risk!

Major Sim’s failure is the best example.

Not only did he not bring back the expected equipment, but he also caused some damage to the base.

Among them were more than a dozen elite soldiers who died under the hail of bullets, several armored vehicles sent out, and a large number of firearms and ammunition.

For this base that is already in crisis, it is undoubtedly a behavior that makes things worse.

The colonel sitting across the round table was a little suspicious of Lin Ye’s identity at first, but after talking for a while with the major who had saved his life, he lowered his guard slightly.

Now that Lin Ye took out the marked map of the armed organization, he couldn’t hold back any more.

Ignoring the dissuasive looks of others, he spread out the battle maps related to the secrets of the army on the table and gave a general introduction:
”In fact, we still have a place to store supplies, and these special marks on the map are the specific locations.

However, the nearest storage point to the base is also ten kilometers away, and all the strongholds have been captured by zombies. We sent people to investigate before. There are too many zombies, and it is difficult to break through the encirclement. ”

Lin Ye compared the marked points on the two maps, and asked without raising his head, ”What’s stored there?”

The colonel hesitated for a moment, but finally spread his hands and told the truth:
”There are a large number of ordnance supplies, sufficient food supplies, and several heavy tanks...”

”Hey, then you really have a big business, but why did you move these things to such a far place?” Lin Ye raised his head and looked at the opposite officer with a puzzled expression.

If it had been properly placed at the door of the house, or hidden in the warehouse, there would not be so much trouble now!

The colonel folded his hands, looking a little embarrassed, and the surrounding officers also turned their faces away, or made small movements to divert their attention.

”That... Actually, these equipments were originally intended to be sold to Seria’s army, but they encountered a catastrophe before they could sell them. There were not many guards at the material storage point, so they were captured by raging zombies not long after!”

Good guy, Lin Ye looked at the officer in front of him and called out a good guy!

Erikan’s military department has played so many tricks, but in the end they have cheated their own people!

However, for Lin Ye, this is an absolutely profitable business, and he will naturally not let go of such an opportunity.

He put the reintegrated combat map in front of the colonel, pointed to the marked points on it, and said calmly:

”I can help you stop the siege of alien creatures, and I can also help you retrieve the supplies from the storage point, but I need some hard work!”

Major Sim has already told the officers present about Lin Ye’s possession of special equipment.

For them, it is a good thing to have such a powerful helper in a critical moment.

The colonel leaned over the edge of the table and responded excitedly:
”What do you want? As long as it is within reason and the base can provide it, then we will never treat you badly!”

This guy agreed so quickly, but Lin Ye really didn’t expect it. He leaned on the seat, looked into the other person’s eyes, and said slowly:
”It’s useless for you to keep the tank, why don’t you give it to me!”

After thinking for a moment, the colonel immediately responded: ”Of course, you can pick one from it and drive away!”

Lin Ye sat up straight, waved his hands and explained: ”No, Colonel, I mean, I want all the heavy tanks!”

Although these words were not spoken loudly, all the officers in the military tent were stunned, and then they all laughed out of breath.

”Young man, do you know what this place is?”

”Even if it is given to you, can you drive heavy tanks with just a few of you? Can you drive them all away?”

One of the officers even put the map aside directly, put his hands on the table, and said in a stern tone:

”We didn’t arrest you and your teammates, it’s already the greatest kindness, don’t go too far!”

The colonel also nodded silently, and looked over with a smile:
”If I want, I can directly collect all those special equipment and distribute them to my subordinates!”

It seems that they still haven’t figured out the situation!

Lin Ye chuckled and said nothing, then looked sideways at Major Sim who was standing beside him, and found that this guy was thinking about something silently with his head down.

Before the officers in the meeting room continued to discuss countermeasures, there was a sudden quarrel in the base. Lin Ye immediately walked out with a gun after hearing the sound.
