Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 48 Heading to the Insect Nest

Chapter 48 Heading to the Insect Nest
Of course, the annexation of large military bases, or similar areas, can only be regarded as a fantasy at present.

Because people who can control that kind of place, how can they easily give up their power and interests and commit themselves to Lin Ye’s command.

People like Major Sim had no choice but to join his floating island because they really had no way out.

Save your own life, and at the same time save the remaining dozen or so soldiers.

For him, there is no loss.

Moreover, with Lin Ye’s current strength, it is impossible to maintain an overly large land area.

After the merger of the floating island and the military base is completed, the repair cost will be as high as more than 100 million survival points.

Now after being attacked by alien creatures, the price may be hundreds of thousands more.

With so many survival points, he needs to work hard for two or three months, and with the selfless dedication of hundreds of thousands of alien creatures, he can barely meet the requirements.

This does not include the cost of subsequent construction and upgrading of military facilities.

Looking at the devastated military base, Lin Ye couldn’t help frowning.

In the cataclysmic doomsday, everyone was worried about whether they could survive until tomorrow, but he was worried because the floating island was developing too fast.

He browsed the system information panel of the floating island facility and sighed repeatedly.

However, at this moment, an alarm came from the system.

A large number of corpses and swarms of insects are passing through the Gobi desert on the ground, and the black army is stepping on the raised dust and marching towards the southwest.

He didn’t turn on the projection hastily. Once he stunned the snake, or caused any critical situation, the situation that had just stabilized would get worse again!

However, based on what happened before, Lin Ye concluded that the Zerg had already nested in the Republic of Seria.

Otherwise, it would be impossible to mobilize so many titan worms and a large number of low-level Zerg creatures in a short period of time.

In addition, the high-level creatures of the Zerg and Zombie camps seemed to have reached a consensus and joined forces to wipe out the humans on the ground.

He needed to investigate in depth what was going on.

In order to issue an early warning to China, including other countries that retain political power.

Lin Ye looked at the tired people behind him and secretly made a decision in his heart.

It just so happens that there is a lack of survival points right now, so it’s better to take a stroll in the insect nest.

He turned around and waved to Cheng Bei in the living room.

After Cheng Bei came over, Lin Ye leaned into his ear and whispered:

”You have also seen the changes in the corpse swarm and the insect swarm. It is much larger than the previous few months. Although this floating island is out of crisis, I have to find out what happened in this desert. .

You and Nan Xiao lead everyone to guard this place. Even if something unexpected happens, the defense system on the villa wall can guarantee your safety! ”

At present, all the automatic weapon towers in the base are already in full operation, and the required ammunition will be automatically deducted from survival points for replenishment.

This is something that no one else needs to worry about.

After hearing these words, Cheng Bei couldn’t help being surprised.

He didn’t understand where Lin Ye was going, but this decision was too sudden.

”Are you sure you want to go alone? We don’t know the specific situation on the ground yet, in case of danger...”

”Don’t worry, I know it well!” Lin Ye responded with a light smile.

There are some things that he needs to confirm alone. If he is really in danger, those around him who know nothing about the catastrophe will be in danger of their lives.

And, most importantly, he didn’t want anyone holding him back.

The insect nest is an extremely dangerous area!

”Tell all the soldiers to stay in the villa area, don’t leave here at will, and follow Cheng Bei’s command for all actions!”

Lin Ye looked at Sim who was standing behind, stepped forward and gave a special warning, then turned to look at everyone:
”Don’t do unnecessary things, wait for me to come back!”

After finishing speaking, he put on a brand new mechanical exoskeleton armor and took the elevator to the garage on the second basement floor.

After the alien creatures on the ground were far away, Lin Ye immediately turned on the projection, and came to the surface with the flickering light beam.

According to the search records in the radar, the combined army of these zombies and low-level bugs all came from the desert in the north.

He decided to explore in that direction first. It was not without reason that so many alien creatures appeared all at once.

With the help of the mechanical exoskeleton, Lin Ye easily climbed over the sand dunes and weathered rocks.

After more than an hour, he saw an open desert basin not far away.

In the center of the basin full of shrubs, stands a strange conical building covered with spiral lines.

Roughly estimated, the height of the building is about 200 meters, and the diameter of the base should be more than [-] meters.

Its surface is covered with a special substance, which is glowing with metallic luster at the moment, and there are some holes distributed on it, which seem to be passages connecting the inside and outside of the building.

This is really the nest of the Zerg!
Lin Ye looked at the buildings in the basin, and couldn’t help feeling tense.

Judging from the size of the conical building on the surface, there should be a larger lair underground.

But he really couldn’t figure out why these Zerg creatures would build their nests in such a desolate desert. This was of no benefit to the Queen of Zerg at all.

At this time, there was a sudden roar around.

Perhaps it was the special human breath that attracted the attention of alien creatures in the hive territory.

A few gigantic cracked rock spiders crawled out of a crack in the rock wall on one side after a while, and slowly walked towards Lin Ye’s location.

While thinking about it, the next few titan worms also caught up.

Seeing this, Lin Ye quickly slid down the sand dunes, and relying on the large weathered rocks scattered in the basin, he cautiously approached the conical building.

But what he didn’t expect was that the cracked rock spiders following behind stopped at the edge of the basin, all standing at the junction of the sand dunes and flat ground, hesitating not to go any further.

It’s as if this place has been enchanted.

Moreover, they raised their heads one after another, waved their forelimbs, looked at the location of the conical building, and didn’t even dare to make a warning roar.

However, there are always some disobedient guys in the group.

A rock spider with many old wounds limped onto the flat ground, shaking its arms.

However, as soon as the appendage stepped on the fine gravel, there were bursts of humming from the conical building in the distance.

Immediately afterwards, gray and white figures flew out of the dark hole.

Obviously, the center of the basin is several kilometers away from the edge, but these figures arrived in a few seconds, and solved this disobedient low-level Zerg warrior in the blink of an eye.

Those gray and white figures retracted the two pairs of narrow wings behind them, flicked off the blood on the appendages, and slowly stood up straight.

Lin Ye hid in the shadow of the rock, secretly observing the attacking creature.

While concentrating the line of sight, an attribute panel slowly appeared in front of his eyes:
[Faction: Zerg]

[Introduction: Tier [-] Zerg Warrior, Stinging Bee]

[Characteristics: The shape resembles a Hymenoptera insect, with a small and thin body, divided into three parts: head, chest, and abdomen, and three pairs of appendages on the side of the body; the head is wrapped by two pairs of huge compound eyes, and the mouthparts are hidden under the compound eyes. Similar to a sucker, with sharp spike-like teeth on the inner wall of the spiral; two pairs of long, narrow wings like a thin film]

[Ability: Higher intelligence; the wing film can be charged with particles, providing twice the speed of sound in a short period of time; the appendages are sickle-shaped and extremely sharp]

[You can get survival points by killing: 2000[+25%]]

The role of the stinging bee is similar to that of the stalker among the zombies. They both focus on assassination, but the differentiation of the swarm creatures is more obvious, so their abilities are more prominent.

While he was analyzing, a group of cracked rock spiders in the distance began to scream in protest, as if the stinging bee killed their compatriots, and this behavior caused great dissatisfaction.

The movement became louder and louder, and the stinging bees gradually became restless, roaring and flapping their wings on the edge of the basin.

Suddenly, these stinging bees seemed to have received some orders, and they all fell down at the same time.

Afterwards, the wings were fully unfolded, and a light blue luster gradually surged on the film.

After charging for a few seconds, they quickly flapped their wings and blasted towards the outside of the basin.

Flying up and down, those rock spiders were all cut into several sections, fell on the gravel and completely lost their vitality, and they didn’t even have a chance to turn around and leave.

This situation made Lin Ye, who was hiding in the dark, exclaim in surprise.

The cheek exposed in the air inadvertently touched the rock wall, and a weak electric current swept through the whole body instantly.

At this moment, all the stinging bees on the outskirts of the basin turned to look at his hiding place.

In the conical building behind him, there was a more intense buzzing sound.

The rock where Lin Ye is hiding is less than 50 meters away from the edge of the basin, which is just the blink of an eye for the stinging bee.

Seeing that they all changed their targets, they were about to fly over in groups.

Lin Ye saw the timing, took out a pack of induction grenades, pulled the latch, got up and threw it out forcefully.

The moment the induction grenade landed, it released gray-green smoke. The stinging bees were about to take off, but they were suddenly irritated by the pheromone carried in the smoke, and turned back to their bodies with a roar.

Regardless of the instructions of the high-level creatures in the lair, they flew directly around the grenade, waving their sickle-like appendages towards the ground.

When Lin Ye saw this, he immediately crouched down and prepared to climb to the conical building through the low shrubs.

After walking a few steps, the grenade on the ground exploded violently.

The stinging wasp with a fragile body was directly blown away by the air wave, and died in the flames.

Under such a violent explosion, the ground also shook greatly.

It seems that because the construction speed of the insect nest is too fast, the internal sediment layer has not been fully formed, and the overall structure is not very strong.

Therefore, under the vibration, a huge gap was directly opened in the basin, accompanied by a large area of collapse.

Before Lin Ye could run away, his feet were empty, and he fell into the spreading crack together with the gravel on the ground.

Fortunately, it is protected by the exoskeleton armor, and fortunately, the ground of the newly built insect nest passage is relatively soft.

So when he fell to the ground, he only suffered some minor scratches.
