Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 1 Doomsday Fortress in the Sky

Chapter 1 Doomsday Fortress in the Sky

The weather in northern China is always fine, and even after a disaster, there is still plenty of sunshine.

The East Third Ring Road of Yancheng, which is within the blockade, is still as lively as usual.

In the past, this was the most prosperous business district in Yancheng, and the sound of luxury cars roaring on the street could still be heard at two or three o’clock in the morning.

However, after the global doomsday catastrophe, the only guests who patronize here are zombies with hideous faces.

Accompanied by the screams of zombies one after another, Lin Ye, fully armed, walked out of a European-style villa.

Facing the pale golden sunlight in the early morning, he strolled through the messy streets, listened to soothing light music, and started his daily morning exercises.

Under the roar of the gunpowder detonation in the gun chamber, unidentified zombies kept falling to the ground.

His expression also changed from the dazed one he had just woken up to gradually becoming cheerful.

Of course, this ”comfortable” lifestyle is normal for Lin Ye who has returned from rebirth.

After all, he had dealt with zombies and other alien creatures for more than 20 years in his previous life, and even his dreams were filled with those ugly and terrifying faces.

On the contrary, when I looked at him later, I felt... unexpectedly very friendly. I felt uncomfortable even saying hello without a loaded gun.

However, the rebirth back to one month before the catastrophe was not as good as imagined.

Lin Ye, who had seen a lot of strong winds and waves, had only taken 10 minutes to fully adapt to the fact of being reborn.

But after waking up every morning, facing the mirror in the bathroom, he still couldn’t help spitting out the fragrance, blurting out swear words like solitaire idioms.

Because no matter what, it is actually an extremely painful thing to experience the hellish doomsday life again.

Fortunately, God still had some conscience and gave him a small compensation when he was reborn.

That is the [Doomsday Fortress System] activated in the body simultaneously.

Counting it, Lin Ye lived nearly 50 years in his previous life, but he has never seen the so-called [system].

But after experiencing those things that happened in the doomsday, even if a god fell in front of him at this time, he would not be surprised.

It took him more than an hour to understand the general functions of the system. According to the [System User Guide]:
[Purchase any building and fully own the property rights (including house ownership and state-owned land use rights), you can activate the system and unlock the use of corresponding functions]

[The higher the value of the initial building selected for activating the system, the more functional areas it divides, and the larger the floor area, the more substantial the benefits from subsequent upgrades will be.]

……

In addition, Lin Ye also noticed a detail.

Unlike ordinary shelters, once the [Doomsday Fortress System] is activated, the house and land he owns will automatically be synchronized to a floating island.

The island is nearly [-] meters above the ground, enough to overlook the entire city.

He no longer has to worry about the geological disasters that often occur in the last days, and he doesn’t have to worry about whether the building will be destroyed by accident.

In fact, as long as he is willing, no matter if it is an alien creature like a zombie or a vicious human being, he will not even touch the grass beside the villa’s wall.

And for the sake of caution, Lin Ye can also cover the periphery with an optical invisibility barrier, so that only he himself can see the floating island through the system.

From any perspective, this floating island that can be infinitely upgraded is a true doomsday fortress.

Everything is ready except for the house.

Speaking of housing, Lin Ye worked hard for two years after graduation. With his hundreds of thousands of savings and the 3000 million support fund from his parents, he bought a large flat in the second ring road of Yancheng.

Owning such a luxury house, in the past, was a proper enjoyment.

But in the doomsday catastrophe, this thing is no different from a cage, and there is no room for upgrading.

He didn’t want to play ”Survival from High Buildings” or ”Those Years Blocked by Zombies”.

Therefore, less than an hour after Lin Ye was reborn, he made an important decision:

He wants to buy a detached house.

Money is no problem for him.

Lin Ye’s parents ran a multinational company. However, a year before the disaster, they had an accident while on a business trip abroad. The plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean, and several company executives who were traveling with them also died.

The bones of his parents were still alive, but the company he worked so hard for was taken over by his partners.

The family situation took a turn for the worse, and Lin Ye, who lost his parents, begged for help everywhere, but he couldn’t get a little help from relatives and friends, and was rejected thousands of miles away.

So for the next year, he suffered a serious blow and retreated to his residence, thinking that he would just live on the compensation money and spend the rest of his life.

Until one day, catastrophe struck.

In his previous life, Lin Ye didn’t understand the horror of the apocalypse. He followed the crowds to seek refuge, but fell into danger many times and almost died.

But this time, he came back from rebirth, and already had all the information about the catastrophe.

So Lin Ye sold his parents and his real estate in many places within a month, sold the stocks he held in multinational companies to cash out, sold out all the collections and luxury cars in the garage, and finally got it together Nearly 5 million working capital.

At that time, it was less than a few days before the catastrophe happened, so he didn’t dare to delay any longer, so he went directly to a real estate agent he knew well and bought a western-style villa in the East Third Ring Road with a huge sum of money.

Yancheng, as the imperial capital of Huaguo, has an average housing price that is not the first in the country, but also the second. Therefore, for the doomsday fortress system, the value of this building is already high enough.

Moreover, the villa he bought covers a total area of 5 acres, nearly 3500 square meters. It not only includes a main building with five bedrooms, four living rooms and six bathrooms, but also a large terrace and two-story basement. It also has a sunken private swimming pool of 200 square meters. Front yard and back garden full of greenery.

From the perspective of floor area and functional area division, it also meets the needs of the system.

The only dissatisfaction is that the house has not been repaired for a long time, the lawn in the courtyard is overgrown with weeds, the swimming pool is full of fallen leaves and mud, and some walls have cracked.

But he didn’t have time to find someone to repair the house, because it was already a few days after a series of procedures were completed.

On the night of getting the house property certificate and activating the system, the world ushered in a catastrophe.

There were no volcanic eruptions, no overwhelming acid rain, and no asteroids falling from the sky.

The space stations, meteorological satellites, and geological disaster monitoring and early warning centers of various countries have not even detected any special signals.

This was a catastrophe without any warning. The source of the catastrophe all came from the surface of Blue Star, the twelve kilometer-high alien portals.

The moment the portal lit up with a blue-purple vortex, millions of radiated zombies poured out of it like a flood, sweeping through cities and towns with a destructive force.

At the same time, the military departments of various countries that detected the abnormal situation quickly mobilized the armed forces of nearby military regions to intercept these alien creatures that attempted to destroy human civilization.

Three minutes after the tide of corpses, various military strikes had already arrived near the portal.

Medium and short-range rocket launchers and long-range rocket launchers, sea-based ballistic missiles, air-based cruise missiles...

Humans have used almost all weapons of mass destruction, bombarded with intensive artillery fire and aerial bombs, trying to stop the zombies from raging.

It did have some effect at first, and all the zombies that came out first were reduced to ashes.

However, the crisis did not end there.

Ten minutes after the portal appeared, the Huaguo government signed the highest mobilization order to guide the people to evacuate from the dangerous area, and ordered the troops of all military regions to gather at the province and city where the portal is located at all costs.

The number of zombies pouring out from the door is increasing.

Without any fear, they stepped on the scorched earth with a temperature of thousands of degrees Celsius, and continued to rush towards the neighboring town.

Even if the feet are scorched into charcoal, even if they become a scorched bone halfway.

Countless zombies, stepping on the flaming corpses of their companions, went forward one after another.

An hour after the portal appeared, the troops on the front line gradually lost their suppressive power, and then collapsed across the board.

Two hours after the portal appeared, troops from various military regions arrived on the battlefield, began to assist the remaining local armed forces to shrink the front line, and set about establishing a defense zone to seal off the radiation zombies as much as possible in those areas that had already fallen.

Five hours after the portal appeared, the people evacuated to a safe area, and the military used strategic nuclear missiles to bomb the portal in turns.

The ultra-high temperature and pressure generated by the explosion of a large-yield nuclear weapon, as well as the devastating shock wave, completely turned the urban area into a purgatory.

However, after the smoke and dust cleared, the alien portal in the blockade was found to be safe and sound.

The zombies that emerged from it one after another evolved rapidly due to nuclear radiation, and their strength was greatly improved.

The situation is getting worse and worse, and gradually out of human control, but all this is just the beginning.

In fact, the alien zombies that ravage the city blocks are just an appetizer at the beginning of the catastrophe, and the creatures that appear later are called horror.

And those long decades are called the real doomsday.
.
Of course, for Lin Ye, the initial stage of the catastrophe was quite leisurely.

After cleaning up the zombies wandering around, after a brief inspection.

After completing the daily morning exercise plan, Lin Ye returned to the front of the villa with a gun on his shoulder.

Now this villa, which is located in the middle of the block and is incompatible with the surrounding environment, is the initial building he bought to activate the system.

But if you look closely, you can find that the surface of the building is covered with a layer of hazy and illusory light and shadow.

Of course, this is not a supernatural phenomenon, but just a projection of the system descending on the surface.

The so-called projection is actually a special function of the system.

It will map the floating island building to the designated position on the surface, not only has all the functions and details of the building, but also can transmit the people and objects in the building to the surface, and all physical phenomena are real.

Some people may say that system functions are superfluous, but in fact, projection has two absolute benefits.

Just to give an example, when the tide of corpses comes, Lin Ye can project the villa in the center of the city, especially the area with the largest number of zombies, and cooperate with powerful automatic defense weapons to carry out a hearty harvesting battle.

Once an unexpected situation occurred in the battlefield, he could directly turn off the projection and return to the altitude of [-] meters.

Even if these alien creatures want revenge, they may not be able to find their way to the floating island unless they can use their left foot to step on their right foot and spiral up to the sky.

Lin Ye opened the gate of the villa’s courtyard and fell into the illusory light and shadow.

Then the projection was turned off, and the villa disappeared in place.

Right above the urban area of Yancheng, among the islands floating in the clear sky, a beam of light was simultaneously lit up.
