Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 8 Doomsday Survival Rules

Chapter 8 Doomsday Survival Rules
On the day of the catastrophe, the entire city fell into chaos.

Although the army has been evacuating the crowd in time, due to the critical situation, the evacuation was too hasty, so some people still did not run out of the blockade.

The Qin Lie brothers and sisters were like this.

Their family originally lived near the center of Yancheng City, but the portal was less than five kilometers away from their community.

After hearing the news, the parents who hurried back home unfortunately died in the first wave of zombie attacks.

The helpless brother and sister joined the nearby evacuation team and escaped from the blockade area on a tour bus.

However, in the apocalypse, everyone is in danger, and everyone wants to escape. As a result, there are a lot of serious accidents on the road.

The impact of the traffic jam is that these vehicles leaving Yancheng have a queue of more than ten kilometers long.

In desperation, the team of more than 30 people had to abandon the bus and rush to the blockade on foot.

However, the spreading speed of the zombies was too alarming. Before they reached the blockade, these alien creatures had already occupied every place in Yancheng.

The group completely lost the chance to escape and could only temporarily hide in a nearby private supermarket.

Thankfully, they were far enough away from the area of the nuclear explosion that they were not affected, and there were still food, drinking water and other supplies left in the supermarket.

In this way, Qin Lie and his sister lived in a temporary shelter for nearly three months in a city where zombies were rampant.

In the shelter, there is no rule of taking turns to search for food. Anyone who wants to can go out to find food by themselves.

A few days ago, Qin Lie’s younger sister found a vending machine in a nearby community. Although the machine had been smashed, there was a box of dried meat hidden in the broken glass at the delivery port.

Although the amount was not much, it was the best food she had found in the past month.

She hid the things in her clothes and returned to the shelter excitedly, wanting to share them with Qin Lie alone, but was still accidentally seen by other sharp-eyed people.

Everyone hasn’t eaten for a long time, and even a biscuit at this time will make people jealous, let alone dried meat.

Everyone rushed forward to snatch it, but Qin Lie’s younger sister still refused to let go.

After arguing, a few young people stood up from the crowd and started to fight the two of them.

The little girl was originally weak, and she hadn’t eaten much during this period of time, so her body was terribly weak.

After being thrown into the puddle by those young people, she struggled a few times, but never got up again.

Qin Lie was unable to stop their atrocities from beginning to end, he could only shrink in a corner under the beating, watching his sister struggle to die.

He deeply felt people’s malice, and regretted his own weakness and incompetence.

Anger, remorse, helplessness, all kinds of complicated emotions made him fall into the abyss of pain.

Finally, he exploded.

The awakening of his special physique allowed the seriously injured Qin Lie to withstand the punches and kicks of the crowd, and in front of them, ended the lives of those perpetrators.

Then, under everyone’s horrified eyes, he hugged his sister’s body, which was gradually losing temperature, and left the shelter.

Having said that, Qin Lie wiped away the tears on his face, his tone full of puzzlement:

”Those people are really unreasonable, they have never shared food, why should we ask us to take it out?”

”Reasonable? In the end of the world, no one will listen to your reasoning!” Lin Ye said lightly after taking a sip of wine.

When life is in danger, the dark side of human nature will be infinitely magnified.

It is still only the first stage of the catastrophe, and the situation will become more serious when the human defenses collapse one by one.

Qin Lie didn’t speak anymore, he swept away the food on the table, and started drinking beer vigorously.

Seeing this situation, Lin Ye had no choice but to comfort the young man again. He was about to give a lecture, but the system suddenly issued an alarm:
[Strange humans appear around the projection]

As soon as the cold electronic sound in the ear disappeared, there were a few crisp gunshots in the distance, and then, the screams of zombies sounded one after another around.

Lin Ye quickly picked up the binoculars on the table, ran all the way to the third floor, and looked towards the source of the sound.

Although his view was blocked by the surrounding buildings, he was able to determine the location of the gunfire from the direction of the zombies’ movement.

It is not far from the projection of the villa, about 700 meters away.

Lin Ye recalled that there were several opened backpacks next to the human bones in the protective net. He thought that there were teammates who escaped nearby, and the gunshots should have been made by them.

No matter what the other party’s purpose is, the secret of the projection cannot be discovered by people who are not planned.

If they are allowed to leave this time, causing the floating island and even the system to be exposed, a lot of trouble will inevitably come to them in the future.

Lin Ye looked at the buildings surrounded by zombies in the distance, and subconsciously clenched his binoculars tightly.

”Let’s go and see!”

Qin Lie standing behind naturally didn’t know the seriousness of the matter, but when he heard that he was about to save someone, he immediately regained his spirits.

To be on the safe side, Lin Ye stuffed a fully loaded Colt under his body armor while taking the shotgun, and stuffed a short knife in each of the two combat boots.

This was not over yet, he was worried that an accident would happen halfway, so he took out a few shock bombs and fragmentation grenades from the weapon warehouse, and hung them on the tactical vest.

After everything was prepared, he brought Qin Lie, who was full of doubts, to the garage on the second basement floor.

The teleportation gate flickered with electricity, and a beam of light was simultaneously lit up in the projection of the villa on the surface.

The location where the gunfire sounded was not far away, in the shopping mall that was destroyed by the shock wave of the nuclear explosion diagonally opposite.

In a few minutes, the two walked over.

There were about twenty or thirty zombies wandering among the ruins, among them were a few walking corpses that had just mutated.

At this time, they were roaring towards the hall on the first floor covered by the wreckage.

Shopping malls are basically reinforced concrete structures with a high safety factor, which cannot be broken by zombies for a while.

But the fire door of the safe passage has been completely damaged and fell to the ground, and the steel plate used to block it is about to fail.

Lin Ye walked into the ruins and whistled around.

The attention of the zombies was instantly attracted, they turned around in unison, and rushed over with their arms waving.

Lin Ye calmly picked up the shotgun and pulled the trigger.

Accompanied by the flames gushing out of the gun barrel, the zombies who were still baring their teeth and claws one second, were beaten to pieces in the next second, and fell all over the ground.

Lin Ye stepped over the still twitching corpse and walked towards the safe passage.

Out of politeness, he knocked on the partition first, and then shouted a few words inside:

”Is anyone there? I have already cleaned up the zombies outside!”

”Hey, are the people inside still alive?”

”Then what, I’m not a bad person...”

He waited for a long time, but not only did he not hear any response from inside, he couldn’t even hear footsteps and the like.

Lin Ye frowned. He didn’t have much time to think about it. He walked up and shot at the steel plate.

However, the shotgun fire was too fierce, and the entire steel plate was blasted out with dense holes and dented inward.

The locker blocking the inside was also torn apart, and finally swayed twice and overturned to the ground.
