Chapter 48 Intentionally Taking a Hit! Attack Ineffective!Su Chen continued to pursue the remaining fighters.

He knew that the test was nearing its end.

Thus, he pushed every aspect of the First-generation Mecha’s performance to the limit.

The true power of the First-generation Mecha was revealed without doubt at this moment.

Its terrifying mobility and agile reaction capabilities made it seem like a reaper holding a scythe, harvesting lives.

Although this was just an exercise, seeing Su Chen’s First-generation Mecha charging towards them!

The remaining pilots still felt a lingering fear.

If they were harvested by it, this exercise would end within half an hour!

The Eastern Theater Command would lose in an overly unsightly manner!

In past exercises, it took at least two hours to finish!

And many times, it was the Eastern Theater Command that relied on its powerful air combat capabilities to defeat the opponent first!

But at this moment, they seemed to be setting a new record for being defeated the earliest!

And it was them being defeated!

This was too much of a slap in the face for the pilots of the Eastern Theater Command!

So now, the remaining pilots had only one belief!

That was to stall!

To drag out this exercise as much as possible!

To make sure their side didn’t lose too miserably!

However, Su Chen did not seem to want to give them any chance!

The First-generation Mecha, operating at full power, had its firepower fully engaged!

Its speed was pushed to the limit!

In two or three seconds, it could easily take out a Fifth-generation fighter!

Its terrifying combat capability shocked everyone!

Only now did they realize the true strength and terror of the First-generation Mecha!

At the same time, they realized that the First-generation Mecha hadn’t been going easy on them before!

It had been holding back on an oceanic scale!!!

If the First-generation Mecha had used its full combat power from the beginning, this exercise would have ended in at most five minutes!

Despair and a sense of powerlessness spread through the hearts of the pilots!

Especially those pilots who had already been shot down!

At first, they were a bit unconvinced, having been shot down for no apparent reason!

But at this moment, seeing the true strength displayed by the First-generation Mecha, they knew that the opponent had held back and given them some face!

Otherwise, they would only have lost even more miserably!

The remaining pilots now also realized that trying to stall for time by fleeing was meaningless.

So they summoned their last bit of grit and decided to fight Su Chen to the end.

The remaining five Fifth-generation fighters turned around and swarmed towards Su Chen!

They were pressing the firing buttons so hard they were about to break!

Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat—

...

A barrage of bullets was fired towards Su Chen!

This could be said to be the final struggle of the pilots from the Eastern Theater Command!

Previously, the barrage formed by the gunfire of over a dozen fighters hadn’t posed even the slightest threat to the First-generation Mecha!

Now, the bullets fired by five fighters couldn’t even form an effective barrage!

The power was arguably even smaller!

Therefore, it could only be called their final struggle!

Everyone realized this!

However.

The next scene left them all dumbfounded!

Not knowing if it was a system failure or what, they discovered that the First-generation Mecha had actually frozen in place!

Waiting for all those simulated rounds to slam into its body!

You have to know, the shells loaded on the Fifth-generation fighters included not only high-explosive shells but also armor-piercing shells!

They could play an important role in both close-range air combat and ground attacks.

Their power was certainly not insignificant!

Just like that, the First-generation Mecha was locked onto by the guns of the five fighters and took a full volley head-on!

This scene stunned everyone present!

The pilots who had been shot down clenched their fists, their eyes flashing with excitement!

Commander-in-Chief Wei Jiantong also stood up in disbelief; what he originally thought was a battle without suspense had actually taken a turn!

The fleeting pause of the First-generation Mecha just now had allowed it to take hundreds of high-explosive and armor-piercing shells.

Even a tank would have been reduced to a pile of rubble by now!

”What’s going on?”

”Why did the mecha stop there? Could it be a malfunction?”

”It must be a problem. After all, this was built by a student in two months; there are bound to be some issues!”

”Then does this mean we won the exercise?”

Everyone was waiting to cheer!

Even the pilots in the sky couldn’t suppress their excitement!

However, to their surprise, the system actually notified them that the previous attack was ineffective!

This left them completely bewildered!

Damn it! You’re cheating, right!

When it hits us, the attack is effective; just being grazed by a laser sends us back to base!

When we finally manage to get a chance to hit the mecha, it’s just Tom attack ineffective???

Are you kidding me!

Commander-in-Chief Wei Jiantong also had a lot of complaints at this moment!

I am the Commander-in-Chief!

Are you pulling this stunt on me?

He immediately contacted the exercise technical control room.

The reply he received was that, according to calculations, the previous volley could not cause effective damage to the mecha!

This response shocked everyone for a whole year!

Those pilots who had returned to base seemed unable to accept this fact:

”Damn it! This is fake, right! How can they say it couldn’t cause damage?”

”Is this armor that hard? If a Fifth-generation fighter had taken that volley, it would have been blown to pieces!”

”We finally got a chance, and you tell me the attack is ineffective! Rigged! It must be rigged! I request a live-fire battle with it!”

Director Zhao Kangbo’s expression at this moment was very calm, as if he had seen through everything long ago!

”Don’t get excited!”

”For you, this is an exercise, but for him, it is more of a live combat test!”

”Testing the various performance aspects of the mecha through live combat!”

”If I’m not mistaken, Su Chen was consciously testing the mecha’s protective capabilities just now, it wasn’t a malfunction!”

Hearing this, everyone was stunned!

So, it wasn’t a malfunction, but something he did on purpose!

And it was precisely because he had the confidence that he wasn’t worried about being focused and shot down!

Director Zhao Kangbo added at the end:

”From the beginning, I have been observing Su Chen’s actions!”

”He has been consciously testing the various capabilities of the mecha!”

”And based on my understanding of this mecha, the capabilities he needed to test have almost all been tested!”

”This protective capability can be said to be the last one!”

Everyone heard this, fell silent for two seconds, and then suddenly looked up at the sky.

At the same time, they raised a question.

If the last test is finished...

Then, what would be waiting for them?

Naturally, it would be the end of this exercise!

Su Chen glanced at the hit data on the control panel!

Everything was within the mecha’s tolerance range!

Director Zhao Kangbo had guessed correctly; Su Chen was indeed testing the mecha’s ability to take hits!

As for whether there was a risk of being shot down.

He didn’t care about the victory or defeat of this exercise!

Compared to winning or losing, he was more concerned with the quality of the mecha!

Now that the test was finished and all the data had been collected!

Su Chen began to end this exercise!

...

In this spacious and slightly solemn command room.

Everyone held their breath, watching the reaper begin to harvest!

Their gazes were tightly locked onto the huge screen, as if attracted by a magnet.

Su Chen was going to end the exercise.

On the screen, the light points representing the Eastern Theater Command’s fighters disappeared one after another!

Just like the quiet falling of bright stars in the night sky.

The disappearance of the light points made not a sound, yet it stirred up raging waves in everyone’s hearts.

At this moment, time seemed to be infinitely stretched, and the air in the command room seemed to have solidified into heavy lead.

In just a very short moment, the once-proud fighter formation of the Eastern Theater Command was ruthlessly destroyed.

Once, these fighters were the pride of the Eastern Theater Command, the steel eagles protecting the nation’s airspace.

Every fighter condensed the wisdom and hard work of countless researchers, and every pilot was an elite among elites who had undergone strict selection and arduous training.

However, in this exercise, even with our many against their few, there was still no power to fight back.

This huge contrast had a tremendous impact on everyone’s hearts.

When the last light point disappeared, the entire screen immediately turned dark.

With this, the exercise finally ended.

The people from the Eastern Theater Command had exceptionally complex expressions!

They looked up at the sky, where the First-generation Mecha stood in the air, like a god, coldly looking down at the common people!

At this moment, it felt as if the era was changing.

The guardian of the sky began to change hands.
