Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 5: Interception of the mech failed! A terrifying speed far exceeding that of the J-20!The once serene and vast night sky was now filled with a tense atmosphere due to the appearance of an unidentified mecha.

The appearance of an unidentified mecha above national airspace was far too dangerous for the Dragon Kingdom!

It had to be intercepted!

Otherwise, there was no telling what kind of harm this mecha might inflict upon the people below!

This mission was exceptionally arduous; for pilot Wang Feng, it might be the most difficult challenge of his life!

He looked down at the thousands of lights below the aircraft.

A wry smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

He thought of the last words from Chief Liu Chengzhi: ”If you cannot defeat it, you may eject!”

How could he possibly eject?!

Once he ejected, the aircraft would crash into this most prosperous area!

The casualties caused would be immense!

Ejection, in his heart, became the first option to be rejected!

Even if he had to die, he would ensure the aircraft crashed in the safest possible area!

Meanwhile, at the ground Command Center, a car pulled up to the entrance.

Soon, an elderly man wearing a military uniform walked inside with a vigorous stride.

Every staff member who saw him greeted him warmly!

As the director of the Aviation Research Institute, Director Zhao Kangbo frequently came to the Command Center to conduct research on fighter jets.

The staff here were all very familiar with him.

They all knew that the Aviation Research Institute had a director who remained vigorous in his old age; even though he had reached retirement age, he refused to grow old and was determined to fight for the country until the very last moment of his life!

”Director Zhao! Why have you come here?”

”It is so late; you must take care of your health!”

Upon seeing Director Zhao Kangbo, Commander Liu Chengzhi spoke up immediately.

”My health is of no concern!” Director Zhao Kangbo waved his hand dismissively.

”Chief Liu, is it really true? I heard that a flying mecha was discovered in the airspace above the National Defense University?”

Director Zhao Kangbo walked to his side; he had come specifically for this matter!

A flying mecha!

This was an existence he dared not even dream of!

As a key figure who had witnessed the step-by-step rise of the Dragon Kingdom Air Force, he knew deeply that the development of the Air Force had already hit a bottleneck!

If they wanted to develop further, they would either have to work on the engine or find another path!

And the engine technology had already been mined to the point where they were stuck in a bottleneck!

So, they had no choice but to find another path!

He still wanted to use the last bit of strength in his remaining years to contribute to the country once more!

But he had been unable to find a breakthrough!

Yet today!

He heard that a flying humanoid mecha had appeared above the country!

And it was flying side-by-side with the J-20 Fighter Jet!

This news was truly like a bolt from the blue!

His intuition told him that this mecha absolutely possessed a great deal of technology that was more advanced than theirs, or perhaps even unheard of!

”It is true, Director Zhao!”

”I have already issued an interception mission to our pilot, Comrade Wang Feng!”

”If there are difficulties, I am prepared to mobilize another aviation squadron!”

Commander Liu Chengzhi seemed to have made a certain resolution!

Upon hearing these words, Director Zhao Kangbo also nodded: ”Chief Liu, this mecha must possess a great deal of technology unknown to us!”

”We must intercept the other party!”

”Even if it is just wreckage, its research value is of vital importance to us!”

Director Zhao Kangbo gave this mecha high recognition!

Commander Liu Chengzhi nodded slightly!

Clearly, he also agreed with his assessment!

Subsequently, Chief Liu hesitated.

After pondering for a moment, he looked at this leading expert in the Dragon Kingdom’s aviation field and asked tentatively:

”Director Zhao!”

”Do you think... could this be a mecha created by the Eagle Nation?”

Director Zhao Kangbo seemed to have guessed that he would ask this question.

After all, even he had been thinking about this point.

However, he could not give a definitive answer!

”Such an advanced mecha must either have been manufactured by the Eagle Nation! After all, they previously released a concept image of a mecha, so they must have had plans for a long time!”

”Or, it is Extraterrestrials visiting Earth, having had a Close Encounter of the Third Kind with us!”

”However, do you believe that Extraterrestrials exist in this world?”

Commander Liu Chengzhi shook his head.

Director Zhao Kangbo gave a helpless, wry smile.

He didn’t believe it either!

No! To be precise, he didn’t believe that Extraterrestrials would come to visit their Dragon Kingdom wearing mechas at this time!

Then it could only be... the Eagle Nation!

With even the expert saying so, the heavy atmosphere in the command room became increasingly oppressive.

...

Meanwhile, Wang Feng had also begun his operation.

”Unidentified mecha, you have entered the airspace of the Dragon Kingdom. Please state your identity and purpose immediately, otherwise, we will take forceful measures!”

Wang Feng’s voice was steady and powerful, transmitting via radio waves toward that mysterious target.

However, only silence responded to him.

The unidentified mecha continued to fly in silence, as if it were turning a deaf ear to Wang Feng’s warning.

Wang Feng gritted his teeth and decided to take further action.

He pushed the control stick, and the J-20 Fighter Jet accelerated forward, attempting to get closer to the unidentified mecha.

As the distance gradually closed, Wang Feng saw the mysterious entity more clearly.

The unidentified mecha emitted a cold, smooth metallic luster.

The lines of its exterior were delicate and full of technological aesthetic.

There were strange patterns and markings on the surface.

A raised crystal in the center, glowing faintly with blue light, seemed to be an energy core.

Wang Feng issued a warning once more: ”This is your final warning. If you refuse to cooperate, we will launch an attack.”

However, the unidentified mecha still gave no response.

A sense of helplessness and anxiety welled up in Wang Feng’s heart; he knew that time was pressing and he could not delay any longer.

He had to intercept the mecha!

An interception could be described as a show of force!

Or it could mean flying alongside it to block its flight path, or squeezing the other party’s flight space!

In necessary circumstances, it meant launching a real attack on the target, which was usually the last resort!

Wang Feng chose to fly alongside it first; he could not easily open fire.

If the other party were the Eagle Nation, they might know this was a warning!

But if it were Extraterrestrials...

Wang Feng swallowed hard.

If he failed to understand their intent and they mistook it for a provocation, leading to an immediate outbreak of war, then the situation would instantly deteriorate.

He wasn’t afraid of death, but he was afraid that the aircraft would crash and accidentally harm the people on the ground!

Therefore, he pushed the control stick again and flew toward the mecha!

He was prepared to warn the other party through this method!

The mecha’s movements were also very fast.

Small blue flames jetted from its shoulders and calves; although the flames were small, they erupted with astonishing thrust!

It pushed itself upward by several hundred meters, easily dodging the collision with the J-20 Fighter Jet!

At the same time, it appeared above the aircraft!

Just as Wang Feng was preparing to continue the interception, the fuselage suddenly shook!

With a bang!

A dark shadow appeared above his head!

Directly above the fuselage!

He hurriedly controlled the stick, stabilizing the aircraft!

He slowly looked up!

He discovered that the mecha had actually appeared on top of the fighter jet!

At the same time, the other party slowly extended a hand!

And gave him... a thumbs-up?!

Wang Feng: ???

Then, it quickly left the fighter jet!

Wang Feng was stunned!

”Wang Feng, has something happened?”

”The tower just detected an abnormal vibration in the fighter jet. Did you encounter abnormal air currents?”

Commander Liu Chengzhi’s voice rang out.

Wang Feng quickly gathered his thoughts and explained: ”No!”

”It was that mecha just now; it stood on top of the fighter jet!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire command room was stunned!

Was this damn thing a mecha, or a superhero!

To be able to stand on a fighter jet!

This scene was impossible just to think about!

It seemed like a scene that could only appear in a movie!

Director Zhao Kangbo, however, was increasingly shocked by the technology on this mecha; this proved that the mecha’s flight system was extremely stable!

But Commander Liu Chengzhi was more worried about Wang Feng’s safety!

”Is it still above you?”

”No, Chief, it has left the fuselage!”

”Then did it do anything to you?”

Wang Feng: ”If I really had to say it did something... it was that it held up a finger at me!”

Commander Liu Chengzhi: ”A middle finger? Disdain? The Eagle Nation????”

At this moment, Commander Liu Chengzhi dared to boldly assert that this mecha was none other than the Eagle Nation!

Why would it hold up a finger for no reason!

Extraterrestrials shouldn’t have that culture!

It must be the Eagle Nation; they must want to use the middle finger to insult us!

The others thought the same as Commander Liu Chengzhi!

But they were wrong!

”It was a thumbs-up!” Wang Feng’s words were spoken.

The people present were instantly plunged into a daze again!

Why on earth would it give Wang Feng a thumbs-up?

Or was it that the other party wanted to use this method to mock Wang Feng!

Couldn’t understand it!

Really couldn’t understand it!

But they didn’t care about such details anymore!

Commander Liu Chengzhi said: ”Do not pay attention to these small episodes!”

”Continue the interception!”

”As our Fifth-generation fighter, the J-20 Fighter Jet has the strength to fight even against the top-tier fighter jets!”

”Its speed is not bad either!”

”Since it dares to come over, I don’t care if it is friend or foe! Intercept it all the same!”

Director Zhao Kangbo also deeply agreed with this: ”This is an excellent fighter jet that has gathered the hard work of most of our lives!”

”This mecha may have other excellent performance characteristics, but when it comes to flight speed, our J-20 Fighter Jet is no less inferior!”

Saying this, he took the microphone and spoke into it: ”Comrade Wang Feng, I am the director of the Aviation Research Institute. I hope you can live up to expectations and help us intercept this mecha!”

”This mecha is very important to us, whether it is the whole machine or the wreckage!”

He repeated to Wang Feng what he had said to Commander Liu Chengzhi!

But at this moment, the microphone on the other end suddenly fell silent!

And on the big screen, one could see the J-20 Fighter Jet’s speed getting faster and faster!

It had even exceeded its usual maximum speed of Mach 2!

This sudden change caught everyone off guard!

Was it launching a pursuit?

Just as everyone was feeling puzzled, Wang Feng’s urgent voice came through the microphone: ”Report to Command Center...”

”The J-20 Fighter Jet’s speed has been increased to its limit!”

”But the distance from the unidentified mecha is getting further and further away!”

”The other party’s mecha is about to disappear from sight!”

In fact, were it not for the light bands on the mecha, Wang Feng would have lost sight of the other party long ago under the current circumstances!

At this moment, his words exploded in everyone’s hearts like a thunderclap!

Especially for Director Zhao Kangbo.

This was the Fifth-generation fighter that they, the military industry experts, had gathered countless efforts to research!

In front of the unidentified mecha, its speed was actually so pathetic?

It was actually being left further and further behind by the other party!

Damn it!

Has the Eagle Nation’s mecha already become this terrifying?
