Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 2: Mech Models? No! I want to build mechs! As the system’s voice faded, a three-dimensional humanoid mecha suddenly appeared in the system space within Su Chen’s mind.

It rotated slowly, displaying its overall appearance to Su Chen.

He snapped back to reality, his eyes widening as he stared at the mecha before him in disbelief!

”System?!”

”The standard-issue system for every transmigrator?!”

Su Chen hadn’t expected that a system actually existed and had truly descended upon him.

He recalled the system’s mechanical, synthesized voice from just a moment ago.

As long as the corresponding blueprints were identified, he could obtain the complete R&D data for that technology!

Because he had glanced at the mecha concept art proposed by the Eagle Nation, he had automatically acquired all the R&D data regarding mecha manufacturing!

As the system finished compiling, Su Chen realized that something had indeed been engraved in his mind.

After he finished organizing this memory, he let out a heavy breath.

It was unbelievable!

It really was the complete set of R&D data for mecha manufacturing!

It not only contained technology and theory but even digitized materials!

These digitized materials could be brought from the system space into reality and directly transformed into real materials that could be applied to manufacturing!

In other words, to replicate it, only the manufacturing process was needed!

This system was truly powerful!

Since arriving in this world, Su Chen had been shocked twice!

First, he was stunned by the forward-looking technology of the Eagle Nation!

He hadn’t expected that the Eagle Nation in this world would be technologically advanced enough to already be considering the manufacture of mechas!

They had even produced concept art!

The other shock came from the system he possessed!

Especially its powerful functions!

Su Chen turned his gaze back to the mecha!

This was far superior to the mecha concept art that Professor Ma Zhiqiang had shown in class!

Although the mecha before him had a silver-gray metallic texture similar to the image from earlier, this color and texture were the result of a color-changing mimetic technology!

In other words, it could change colors at will!

Su Chen liked the combination of red and yellow, so he could consider styling it after Iron Man!

The materials on the mecha were not simple steel but a special alloy, exceptionally sturdy.

According to the data provided by the system, it could easily withstand Barrett bullets!

It could even ignore shells from large-caliber howitzers!

On its shoulders, it was equipped with a set of multi-functional weapon modules capable of releasing laser emitters.

A small raised area on the chest was used to store the energy core!

And the energy core of this mecha adopted a solid-state particle energy technology that this world had not yet fully mastered.

This was a solid substance that utilized the special properties of microscopic particles to store and release energy.

Through the special arrangement and combination of nanoparticles, it could release enormous energy under specific conditions.

And... and...

Su Chen couldn’t even list all the advantages of this mecha!

Almost every inch of its body featured remarkable details.

At this moment, Su Chen was quite excited.

For a science fiction writer like him, the motivation for entering this profession was a mecha movie he had watched as a child!

It was said that every boy had a mecha dream, and he was no exception!

Mechas were frequent guests in almost every one of his works!

And now, a mecha was appearing right before him.

He wanted to reach out and touch it, but at that moment, a cylindrical barrier appeared around the mecha, emitting a faint blue light that blocked him!

At the same time, a long string of changing numbers appeared on the barrier.

Su Chen saw it at a glance!

It was a countdown!

The time was quite long!

After calculating, it was two months!

”Please complete the manufacturing of this black-technology product within the specified time!”

”If the host fails to complete the manufacturing within the specified time, the system will determine that the host lacks manufacturing capability and will reclaim this product!”

The system’s voice suddenly rang out.

Su Chen shuddered, his face then showing shock.

”No way! System, are you kidding me?”

”You want me to build this mecha in two months?”

”Although you have the materials, I don’t have a manufacturing workshop or equipment, how am I supposed to build it?”

This thing wasn’t Lego that could be finished with a simple assembly!

This was a real, authentic mecha!

Every part was filled with scientific details worthy of scrutiny.

Two months!

I would think two years was fast!

If you let the Eagle Nation do it, they might not finish in twenty years!

Just processing the materials alone would take a lot of time.

What you think of as materials are processed technological components!

But the actual materials are raw ores waiting to be processed!

Is there any machine in this world capable of cutting raw materials for a mecha that even large-caliber howitzers can’t penetrate?

”Please rest assured, host, the necessary manufacturing equipment has been prepared by the system!”

”As long as the host’s hands-on ability is up to par, manufacturing this product will not be a problem!”

Su Chen was stunned. Was the system this considerate?

It had even prepared the equipment!

You can rest assured about my hands-on ability. Although I am a novelist, in order to make the technology in my writing more realistic, I often hand-craft corresponding models!

Su Chen was very confident in his hands-on ability.

Now that he had the materials and the equipment, all he lacked was a place to manufacture it!

However, his current location was the National Defense University of the Dragon Kingdom, the most bustling place in the Dragon Kingdom.

Every inch of land was worth its weight in gold; if someone in the family passed away, you might not even be able to afford a cemetery plot!

Where was he supposed to find a venue?!

Just as he was hesitating, not knowing what to do, Professor Ma Zhiqiang’s voice, as heavy as war drums, pulled him back to reality.

”Students, summer vacation is almost here!”

”It just so happens that, taking advantage of this course, I am assigning you a summer homework assignment!”

The National Defense University was different from other schools!

They had summer homework even during the break!

For these outstanding students, homework was not a burden but rather made them somewhat excited!

Professor Ma Zhiqiang continued, ”My requirement is not high!”

”I just hope you can build a mecha...”

As soon as these words were spoken, there was an immediate uproar in the class.

”A mecha? Did I hear that right? Professor Ma actually wants us to build a mecha?”

”This requirement isn’t high? How would I know how to build a mecha!”

”Exactly, exactly!”

But soon, they heard the rest of Professor Ma’s words!

”A mecha... model!!!!”

So it was a model!!!

Everyone laughed heartily!

They thought this professor was truly humorous!

Professor Ma Zhiqiang also laughed: ”Of course I know that asking you to build a mecha is a pipe dream!”

”If you can actually build one, we’ll switch places; you stand in my position, and I’ll be your student!”

”Alright, no more joking!”

”I hope you can incorporate your own creativity into this mecha model!”

”Especially those students who were eager to speak in class, I am looking forward to your works!”

A few slightly smug voices sounded from the audience!

It was easy to imagine that during the upcoming summer vacation, they would definitely work hard to produce works that would satisfy the professor!

Su Chen was equally excited.

But the point of his excitement was different from the others.

Professor Ma actually wants us to build a mecha model!

Since that’s the case, could he take this opportunity to borrow the Laboratory from him?

The National Defense University Comprehensive Laboratory!

It was a large Laboratory covering tens of thousands of square meters!

It had five floors in total!

The one Professor Ma Zhiqiang was in charge of was the Simulated Equipment Laboratory on the top floor!

It was a Laboratory capable of simulating various complex environmental conditions.

It was mainly used to simulate various environmental conditions that equipment might encounter during actual use, in order to test and evaluate the performance, reliability, and adaptability of the equipment.

Professor Ma had always encouraged students to visit and learn in the Laboratory, and even lent it to students as an experimental site!

He wasn’t even afraid of the equipment inside being damaged!

The National Defense University wouldn’t miss this bit of equipment, would it?

And the Laboratory was closed during the summer vacation!

The students of the National Defense University usually had heavy academic workloads, so they would generally let loose during the summer vacation!

Even the professors were no exception!

Apart from the necessary conferences to attend, their social media feeds were filled with videos of them flying everywhere during the holidays!

In his words, if you don’t go out to see the beautiful landscape you are protecting, wouldn’t it be a waste?

”In order not to let the delivered mecha be reclaimed by the system!”

”This venue must be secured!”

”What did you say?”

”You want to borrow the Laboratory key to build a mecha model during the summer vacation!”

After class, Su Chen found Professor Ma!

Professor Ma was clearly a bit surprised by his idea.

He had a very good impression of Su Chen.

The original owner was usually a very motivated student, and Professor Ma had seen it all.

This added quite a few points to Su Chen’s conversation, at least it didn’t make Professor Ma refuse right away!

”Actually, in class, I always wanted to hear your thoughts!”

”But I don’t know what happened? You were distracted during class today!”

”Little Su! It couldn’t be that you’ve fallen in love, could it?”

Su Chen didn’t expect that the original owner had such a good relationship with Professor Ma.

At the same time, his expression became serious: ”Professor, actually I wasn’t distracted, but was thinking too deeply about the problem you raised!”

Professor Ma was just about to say, ”You’re talking nonsense!”

I’ve been teaching for so many years, can’t I tell if you were distracted?

However, before he finished speaking, he heard Su Chen’s next words.

”I think that since the mecha is applied as a weapon on the future battlefield, using it to deal with drones is truly overkill!”

”A real mecha should never be detected by contemporary electronic equipment, and drones are no exception. Even if it’s a remote-controlled drone, upon entering the vicinity of the mecha’s energy field, all camera equipment should malfunction!”

”At the same time, it should also have flight capabilities to improve mobility, and use new alloys to enhance the ability to cope with various weapon attacks!”

”Most importantly, the energy that serves as the core of everything must be sufficiently abundant, and this energy should not only be used to support mobility but should also be able to serve as an energy source for weapon systems to launch special forms of attacks!”

”And...”

”And...”

Su Chen spoke eloquently and extensively.

Those who didn’t know better would have thought he had built a mecha himself!

Professor Ma was also stunned for a moment; it wasn’t that what Su Chen said was so professional, but mainly that this kid had quite a lot of ideas!

And some were quite creative!

You have to know that this world didn’t have movies like Iron Man.

Everyone’s concept of a mecha was just a suit of glowing sheet metal!

The very simple concepts proposed by the Eagle Nation were enough to surprise the world!

Let alone what Su Chen proposed!

”Professor, I want to try to apply these...”

He wanted to say applying these ”technologies” to the ”mecha.”

But he felt that saying it this way wasn’t appropriate!

No matter which technology was brought out, it was a terrifying existence!

But saying it out loud would just be bragging!

Just as he was hesitating, Professor Ma took over the conversation!

”You want to apply these ’creative ideas’ to the ’mecha model,’ is that right?”

Su Chen was stunned for a moment: ”Um, something like that!”

It was just a few words difference.

”Of course you can!”

Professor Ma Zhiqiang agreed without even thinking!

”The school encourages students to innovate and doesn’t want good ideas to be buried, and I strongly support this!”

”It’s just that you have so many ideas, why didn’t you say so earlier?”

Professor Ma criticized him a little, but it was about the matter, not the person.

As he spoke, he lifted the hem of his shirt, took a key card off the keychain on his belt, and handed it to Su Chen:

”Anyway, there’s no one here during the summer vacation, you can do whatever you want!”

”But you must guarantee that after school starts, you will make a mecha model that I can approve of!”

Su Chen was stunned, looking at the key card he had obtained so easily.

He was inexplicably moved.

This emotion came from a teacher’s trust in a student!

It also came from a country’s bold support for outstanding talents to dare to innovate!

”Rest assured, Professor! I will definitely satisfy you!”

Su Chen secretly made up his mind.

A few days later, summer vacation arrived.

The students left school, while Su Chen dragged his luggage and walked deeper into the school.

To the Laboratory located behind the mountain.

Because Su Chen lived and ate directly in the Laboratory, everyone thought that there was no one in the top-floor Laboratory.

The door was tightly closed, and no one could come up!

After placing the equipment and materials, Su Chen started working immediately!

”Have you heard? The school’s simulated equipment Laboratory seems to be haunted?”

”Nonsense! We are a military academy; what ghost would dare to come in? Even if they did, they would be martyrs, what’s there to be afraid of?”

”I’m really not lying to you. I heard someone saw two figures through the window at night; one person was installing the head of the other person!”

Nearly two months passed.

The summer vacation was also about to end.

And before the summer vacation was about to end, Su Chen finally finished manufacturing the mecha.
