Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 11 Hand-Crafted New Alloy! Is it Technology or Magic?!”Since it was manufactured in the last two months, could you let us see the Laboratory where this mecha was built?” Director Zhao Kangbo spoke up again.

As the head of the Aviation Research Institute and a creator of many aviation weapons, he had a strong curiosity about how this mecha was manufactured!

Or rather, he still held some doubts in his heart.

After all, for a young man to have built such an impressive mecha was simply too hard to believe!

”I am very curious to know how Student Su Chen designed and manufactured this mecha?”

”Would that be possible?”

Director Zhao Kangbo made the request!

Everyone else looked over as well!

Their gazes were fixed on Su Chen!

Su Chen turned to look at Professor Ma Zhiqiang.

The latter was stunned for a moment, then gave a sheepish laugh:

”What’s difficult about that?”

”Su Chen built this mecha in the Laboratory under my supervision!”

”Go down this way, the top-floor Laboratory is the one!”

Saying this, he led them inside the Laboratory!

The moment everyone stepped into the Laboratory, they were instantly rendered speechless by the scene before them!

They had originally expected a strong scientific atmosphere, with all sorts of advanced equipment emerging one after another, since this was a National Defense University Laboratory; how bad could it possibly be?

However, this Laboratory currently looked like it had been burgled!

There were scraps of various materials everywhere!

The equipment was also covered in marks of heavy use!

Unlike the high-tech scene they had imagined, it gave people the feeling of a mechanical workshop!

This feeling was exactly the same as when Professor Ma Zhiqiang had returned to the Laboratory initially.

Commander Liu Chengzhi’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. He looked at Professor Ma Zhiqiang, feeling as if he had been played:

”This... is this the Laboratory where you built the mecha?”

”Shouldn’t it be one of those that looks very sophisticated and high-end?”

”Why is it like this?”

The Chief’s reaction made Su Chen want to laugh!

Professor Ma Zhiqiang glared at him!

My little ancestor, you still have the nerve to laugh!

This is all your masterpiece!

Just as he was about to explain to Commander Liu Chengzhi, Director Zhao Kangbo spoke up:

”Chief, I previously had the honor of coming to this Laboratory under Professor Ma Zhiqiang’s charge to test a certain military product!”

”The layout here hasn’t changed much since then!”

”But the equipment appears somewhat worn due to overuse!”

”This is understandable, after all, this is a mecha that Student Su Chen built in just two months!”

”With a short timeframe and heavy tasks, the equipment must have been running at maximum efficiency, and there was no way to keep things tidy, which is why it looks a bit messy!”

After his explanation, Commander Liu Chengzhi understood!

He couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for Su Chen!

”You’ve worked hard, Comrade Su Chen!”

”I can tell that you’ve truly put in a lot of effort!”

”By the way, when I came over just now, I noticed the warehouse was empty...”

”Manufacturing this mecha must have consumed a lot of resources, right!”

”Your school must have invested quite a bit!”

Su Chen nodded: ”That’s right, Chief, the school did invest quite a bit!”

”Oh?” Hearing Su Chen say this, Commander Liu Chengzhi couldn’t help but be surprised.

He felt that this investment must be a terrifying number!

However, thinking about it, it seemed unlikely that the school would just casually give a student research funding!

Moreover, this was originally treated as a summer assignment!

Just as he had many doubts in his heart, Su Chen continued:

”Because I needed to buy some materials!”

”I signed a bill for 200,000 for the Laboratory!”

”The research funding, let’s call it 200,000.”

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone present was dumbfounded!

200,000!!!!!

Wang Feng, a young man who couldn’t hold back his thoughts, was the first to jump up!

”Holy crap! 200,000?”

”Su Chen, are you serious?”

”Such an impressive mecha, and it only cost 200,000 in research funding? Our Fifth-generation fighter cost at least 30 billion from research to manufacturing!”

After his excitement, he suddenly changed the subject and grabbed Su Chen’s hand:

”Bro, I’ll give you my 200,000 in savings, could you build one for me to play with?”

”I really want to try it!”

”Wang Feng, get over here!” Commander Liu Chengzhi’s voice rang out.

Wang Feng then realized he had been a bit undignified!

He gave an awkward smile and retreated behind Commander Liu Chengzhi again.

Commander Liu Chengzhi then continued with the serious business:

”Comrade Su Chen!”

”Don’t joke about 200,000 in funding!”

”Even if you said this mecha cost billions or tens of billions, I absolutely wouldn’t doubt it!”

”But you say 200,000... this, this, this...”

Commander Liu Chengzhi didn’t know what to say!

Su Chen shrugged: ”Chief, I’m just a student, and I was under a lot of pressure over this 200,000! After all, I was the one who caused the Laboratory to have a 200,000 bill!”

”Before you arrived, Professor Ma Zhiqiang was poking me with the bill, saying that this 200,000 is equivalent to several years of savings for an ordinary family, and I felt so ashamed!”

Upon hearing this, Director Zhao Kangbo felt heartbroken and at the same time somewhat indignant:

”Old Ma, how could you treat Comrade Su Chen like that!”

”Your school is really something; can’t you even cough up a mere 200,000 in research funding?”

”In that case, you might as well let Su Chen come to our Aviation Research Institute! I’ll give him a starting research fund of one billion!”

Professor Ma Zhiqiang glared at Su Chen: ”You little brat, trying to report me, huh!”

”I didn’t know the situation, did I?”

”If I had known you had this ability, let alone 200,000, I would have found a way to get you 20 billion!”

However, he also knew that Su Chen was just joking and didn’t take it to heart.

Director Zhao Kangbo walked over to a pile of equipment, recognizing that it was used for manufacturing alloys!

Like the other equipment, there were even more signs of use on these.

Clearly, Su Chen had used this equipment quite a bit!

Noticing Director Zhao Kangbo’s gaze, Su Chen immediately walked over!

”As you can see, the alloy on the mecha was manufactured using this equipment!”

As soon as he said this, the others crowded around!

”Comrade Su Chen, could you demonstrate how this new super alloy is manufactured for us?”

”Let me see it for myself as well!”

Su Chen glanced under the table and saw there were still some materials left!

He immediately agreed that it was no problem!

After taking out those materials, he sorted them and got them ready!

Then he started various instruments.

Everyone gathered around the experimental bench, watching Su Chen’s every move with undivided attention.

Su Chen skillfully operated the instruments, putting different materials into containers according to specific proportions.

Subsequently, these materials produced a series of chemical reactions!

Seeing this, everyone was dumbstruck!

These chemical reactions weren’t just simple bubbling.

They even emitted scorching flames that appeared in various colors, and Su Chen even dared to reach out and touch them directly!

The reaction was intense but didn’t hurt his hand.

It was mind-boggling!

There was an even more mind-boggling phenomenon!

A certain metal used as a raw material, after reacting with other materials, actually became as if it were alive!

It was squirming and crawling inside the container!

Everyone’s mouths twitched uncontrollably!

They wanted to ask, is this science or magic?

Following a series of complex chemical reactions, a new type of alloy gradually took shape.

The entire process was as smooth as flowing clouds and water, making people marvel at Su Chen’s superb skills.

After cooling down, the new alloy was placed on the table for them to admire.

This alloy shimmered with a unique luster, giving people a sense of sturdiness and mystery.

Director Zhao Kangbo was incredibly excited!

He immediately worked with Professor Ma Zhiqiang to test this new alloy!

It just so happened that the Laboratory had all kinds of testing instruments!

As the testing proceeded, an expression of surprise appeared on Director Zhao Kangbo’s face.

The data for the new alloy far exceeded his expectations!

Its strength, toughness, corrosion resistance, and other performance indicators all reached astonishing levels.

Director Zhao Kangbo looked at Su Chen and asked in disbelief:

”Student Su Chen, I noticed that the materials you used to make this alloy just now are not particularly rare!”

”Does that mean the overall cost of this alloy is actually not expensive?”

Su Chen explained: ”It’s not just ’not expensive’!”

”It’s actually quite low!”

Why did he say that? Because these materials were things he could buy off the shelf!

How could that be expensive?

As a student, he couldn’t even get his hands on materials that were slightly rare!

However, one shouldn’t underestimate the new alloy just because of the materials!

In fact, the manufacturing of the alloy was more about the combination of various materials and the appropriate proportions!

That was the profound part of this new alloy!

Its complexity was such that even if Professor Ma Zhiqiang and Director Zhao Kangbo watched it dozens or hundreds of times, they might not be able to replicate it!

Don’t let the fact that Su Chen made it look easy fool you; it involved hundreds of procedures, and each procedure required careful consideration of material combinations and the ratio of materials added!

If even one procedure went wrong, a tiny error would lead to a massive failure!

...

The new alloy was the foundation of the mecha.

Hearing Su Chen’s words, everyone couldn’t help but feel excited!

The extremely low cost meant the possibility of mass production!

Otherwise, no matter how impressive it was, if it required the strength of the entire nation to build just one unit, it would be better not to build it at all!

No matter how impressive something was, one had to consider whether one could afford it!

”Su Chen, although I don’t know much about these things!”

”But I really want to know, isn’t the power source for your mecha’s powerful propulsion that solid-state energy?”

”Could you demonstrate how it’s manufactured for us?”

”That energy source must be very expensive, right?”

This question was raised by Wang Feng!

Especially the price at the end!

It tugged at the hearts of many people!

They all knew that the power of this mecha was inseparable from the high-energy solid-state energy it carried!

If it could be applied to other fields, it would be like a dimensional strike!

However, Su Chen spread his hands at this moment:

”As for the materials, I don’t have any left right now!”

”I can’t demonstrate it!”

”However, as for the cost, it’s not expensive either!”

”A single high-energy solid-state energy unit only costs about 1,000!”

”The energy produced can make the J-20 Fighter Jet fly for 400,000 kilometers!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole room was dumbfounded!

1,000!

To make the J-20 Fighter Jet fly for 400,000 kilometers!!!!!
