Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 23 Su Chen Takes the Lead! The Prospective Academician is Shocked!Fuxing Building.

After a few days of preparation, the Laboratory was ready for use!

Inside the Laboratory, the Dean of the School of Materials Science, Xu Cheng, along with other professors from the school, had all been summoned here!

Dean Xu Cheng was now seventy years old!

Because he paid attention to exercise, he was in very good health!

His gait was as swift as the wind, and his walk was as steady as it had been in his younger years.

It was not Professor Ma Zhiqiang who had called them over; although the latter was a titan of engineering, Xu Cheng could be considered the founder of the entire field of materials science in the Dragon Kingdom!

The only one who could get him to come was the President himself!

President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming was also here.

Inside the Laboratory, there were not only the titan of engineering, President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming, and the founder of materials science, but also several other materials science professors who had studied under Professor Xu Cheng, whose professional abilities were ranked among the best in the Dragon Kingdom!

”President and Lieutenant General, may I ask why you have invited us here?”

Dean Xu Cheng spoke up to ask the reason for their summons!

”Elder Xu, I have invited you here because there is a research project that requires your help,” President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming explained.

Xu Cheng was somewhat surprised:

”As you know, we have recently been busy with research on armor materials, and it is now nearing completion!”

Research into military armor has always been a hot topic.

Before the 1970s, research on armor materials was very popular, but with the advent of explosive reactive armor, the popularity of armor material research gradually waned, though this still did not affect its important status in materials science research!

”Once our research is successful, it could be an epoch-making revolution for our military armor!”

”What research could be more important than ours?”

Xu Cheng valued his own research highly.

President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming smiled calmly: ”You will know in a moment!”

As he spoke, his gaze turned toward the room behind him!

”Su Chen, come on out!”

As his voice fell, a young man walked out from inside!

Everyone’s gaze suddenly fell upon him.

Xu Cheng, however, noticed Zhao Dairou beside Su Chen!

”Xiao Rou! Why are you here?”

Zhao Dairou greeted Xu Cheng: ”Teacher, I have returned to carry out a mission!”

Xu Cheng nodded!

Zhao Dairou had originally been a student at the School of Materials Science, but later, because she did not want to pursue further studies, she was specially recruited into the Air Force.

Xu Cheng’s gaze shifted to Su Chen.

He was somewhat puzzled.

President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming explained from the side: ”Elder Xu, this is the person leading this research!”

”From now on, you can just follow his arrangements!”

As he finished speaking!

Xu Cheng’s pupils gradually dilated!

He thought he had misheard!

The expressions of the other professors also suddenly changed; they looked at each other, thinking they had misheard!

It wasn’t just them!

Seeing that Su Chen had really called the Dean and professors of the School of Materials Science over, Zhao Dairou also felt a sense of daze in her heart!

As Xu Cheng’s student, she knew well the status Xu Cheng held in the Dragon Kingdom!

It was said that the research Xu Cheng was currently conducting was very likely to make him an existence on par with an academician!

Yet, this person who was only one step away from being an academician had been casually summoned here by Su Chen!

It seemed that President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming had even personally intervened.

”Dean Xu, professors, hello!”

”I know you must have many questions... I can understand that!”

”Now, please sign this confidentiality agreement, and I will answer your questions one by one!”

This was getting more and more outrageous!

In all his years, Xu Cheng had never seen such an outrageous thing!

At his age, he actually had to take orders from a young punk!

As the founder of materials science in the Dragon Kingdom, he had always been the one giving orders to others!

For the first time, he was being ordered around by someone else!

More importantly, he even had to sign a confidentiality agreement!

He felt increasingly bewildered, not knowing what exactly was going on.

However, since it was President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming who had invited them!

There must be a reason for it!

They didn’t think too much about it and decisively signed the confidentiality agreement!

”Now can you tell us what this is about?” Xu Cheng asked.

Su Chen nodded and took out several printed blueprints, distributing them to Xu Cheng and the other professors!

They took the blueprints.

The conceptual design for a Particle Laser Cannon appeared before their eyes.

Su Chen’s voice rang out: ”As you can see, this is a conceptual design for a Particle Laser Cannon!”

”The so-called Particle Laser Cannon is a conceptual weapon capable of gathering a large amount of energy and releasing it in an instant!”

”Because intense energy fluctuations are generated during the process of gathering energy, special materials are needed to control this energy and prevent it from leaking!”

”This is the reason I have asked you all to come and help!”

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone present was stunned.

Xu Cheng was even more shocked; he looked sharply at President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming:

”Particle Laser Cannon... President and Lieutenant General Chen, has our country’s weaponry developed to this level?”

President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming and Professor Ma Zhiqiang were also stunned and leaned in to take a look!

Seeing the blueprints in their hands, their faces showed shock!

Their expressions were all seen by Xu Cheng:

”What’s going on? Judging by your reactions, did you just find out too?”

President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming chuckled: ”To be honest, I just found out too!”

”Su Chen said his research needed the help of materials science experts, so I invited you all here!”

This casual remark made Xu Cheng feel incredulous.

President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming didn’t even know what Su Chen’s research was, yet he had called him over!

This was putting too much value and trust in Su Chen!

He couldn’t help but look the young man opposite him up and down.

He voiced his doubts.

”Your name is Su Chen, right!”

”Creating materials to control laser energy is a good idea!”

”But with our capabilities, I’m afraid it will be very difficult to manufacture!”

”This is definitely not a simple material! It is a material of the future. To create it would take at least twenty or thirty years, or even half a century. At my age, I’m afraid I won’t last until then!”

Su Chen smiled calmly:

”Elder Xu, don’t worry about that!”

”President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming has already told you, I will lead this project!”

”You just need to help me!”

”And it’s not as difficult as you imagine. It won’t take that long; one month is enough!”

Hearing this, Xu Cheng immediately lost his composure!

”You are leading it???”

”And you can build it in a month???”

This founder of materials science in the Dragon Kingdom widened his eyes at this moment!

He looked at President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming, wanting to confirm if this was true!

Then he saw President and Lieutenant General Chen Ming nod at him.

Now Xu Cheng was completely dumbfounded!

After a long while, Xu Cheng finally reacted:

”Allow me to ask one question!”

”Are you sure this isn’t just nonsense?”

”They say that those who are more capable should come first... May I ask, Su Chen, what achievements do you have?”

Su Chen rubbed his chin: ”As for achievements, it seems I don’t have any!”

”I just don’t know if building a mecha counts as an achievement!”
