I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 444: 427 Canter TownChapter 444: Chapter 427 Canter Town

Since that was the case, there was no need to stay in Kajiatan City any longer, especially since the services offered by this shop were a bit “too extensive.” Even though the great lake outside had a unique and beautiful scenery, Mu Ying didn’t feel comfortable staying there.

Even though she had paid for two nights’ accommodation, she could only get a refund for tomorrow’s stay, but she decided to leave anyway.

She swiftly went to use the Transmission Array again.

Canter Town’s location couldn’t compare to Kajiatan. According to forum posts, the Lord of Canter Town had hastily established the territory while being pursued by zombies.

The initial site of establishment was up in the mountains, but from the start, he converted the trees within the territory into lumber and energy. The first houses that were built used this lumber and were all wooden structures.

This style was continued thereafter.

The Territory Shield of Canter Town now extended all the way down to the foothills.

Stone paths connected the various houses within the territory, with elevation changes and a scattered layout. Beyond the paths and houses, there were patches of farmland, not in large quantities, and now, in this season, they were lying fallow.

At a glance, Mu Ying could tell that Canter Town wasn’t as developed as Kajiatan and not nearly as bustling.

These two Main Territories were actually not very far from each other, but in the early days when there were no Sub-camps, Canter Town made a significant mistake in its establishment – it chose a location without a good water source.

One step behind all the way, especially since the two territories weren’t particularly far apart, players naturally preferred to go to Kajiatan, so the population growth here in Canter was slow.

Mu Ying arrived via the Transmission Array and could see that the development of this camp wasn’t on par with Kajiatan City, but it was decent by common standards.

The Sub-camp of Canter Town didn’t sell land externally as Kajiatan did. All space around the territory that was suitable for cultivation and breeding was enclosed and used accordingly.

Most who came here were those who had given up on accumulating strength through Cultivation and intended to sustain themselves through farming and breeding.

Mu Ying still chose to stay at a hotel, right next to the Transmission Array. It was called Canter Hotel, which sounded more like it was run by the territory itself rather than a franchised establishment.

Before entering, she observed the people inside, who were all dressed normally. It seemed to be a legitimate hotel.

Only then did Mu Ying walk in.

“Welcome to Canter Town!” The owner, who spoke Bear Country’s language fluently as he chatted with the locals, greeted the new guest eagerly and began to attend to business.

“Are you a player?” inquired Mu Ying.

The owner nodded, “Yes, the hotel is run by the Lord, and I’m just an employee. Are you also waiting for the Transmission Array to Qingshan City to be established?”

Her hairstyle was a clear indication that she was from Xia Country, possibly wanting to return to her homeland.

“Have there been many people like that recently?” Mu Ying asked further.

“Of course, even I want to try out the test house in Qingshan City. But I’m afraid the transmission cost won’t come cheap,” said the owner.

With that said, Mu Ying knew that the post on the forum was indeed true.

“Are you looking for accommodation? This is the only hotel in the territory,” the owner began to pitch his services.

Mu Ying shook her head, “I’d like to take a walk around the territory first.”

Now that she knew the forum post was authentic, there was no need to hide her identity anymore. It was best to contact the Lord of Canter Town as quickly as possible to take care of the upcoming matters.

Of course, her distinctive appearance was the best way to get recognized. If she claimed to be Mu Ying while looking as she did now, she would expose the secret of her ability to change her appearance. She still had many other territories to visit!

So taking the excuse of wanting to take a tour, she wandered around the territory for a bit. Then, she stepped out of the territory’s gate, found a secluded spot, and went into her Space Suitcase to revert to her original appearance.

She also changed her Thousand Faces Clothes to a dark green robe, a black velvet cloak with white fur edges, and dressed with care. There was no need to carry her luggage, so she traveled light, without the burden of carrying her bow and arrow or any other weapons.

Then, aboard her broom, she flew directly into Canter Town from the sky, a look and mode of arrival that were both extremely conspicuous and stylish.

Anyway, her ability to fly on a broom wasn’t a secret anymore, the more flashy it was, the faster she could achieve her goals.

Moreover, at this time, her image was synonymous with Qingshan City. The cooler she looked, the more attractive she was, and she could also attract more talents to the territory.

“Are you Mu Ying from Qingshan City?” someone from the crowd asked.

Mu Ying nodded, “May I ask where I can find your Lord?”

“Follow the mountain trail all the way up, and the number one wooden cabin at the top is the Lord’s home, look, that one over there.”

Mu Ying thanked him and followed the direction he pointed, climbing up the steps.

Several curious players followed her, asking about things related to Qingshan City. Mu Ying patiently answered and took the opportunity to advertise for Qingshan City.

“Does Qingshan City really have mermaids? Are they really beautiful?”

“Beautiful, you should go see them when you get the chance.”

“How do you manage to find so many mineral veins?”

“Secret!”

“Will there be a red envelope rain for Xia Country’s New Year this year?”

“Yes, the earlier you go, the better!”

“Did you really fly here on a broom from Xia Country? Doesn’t your butt hurt? Isn’t it uncomfortable with the wind blowing?”

“There’s an invisible cushion on the broom, it even blocks the wind.”

“Does Qingshan City sell these flying brooms? I really want to fly too!”

“This broom is quite special, only I can make it work. If you want to fly, you should go to Qingshan City; it won’t be long before there should be a mount rental shop in Qingshan City, where you can rent a griffin to fly.”

“How was the test house built?”

“Secret, try it out when you get the chance. It can increase your motivation for cultivation and help you better grasp your own strength.”

...

When she reached the top of Canter Town and stood in front of the wooden cabin with the number one on the door, Aleksey was already waiting at the entrance.

Some players had taken shortcuts up the mountain to report her arrival.

Aleksey was a refined young man, a Level 4 Wanderer.

The two extended hands and shook: “Lord Mu, hello, I am Aleksey, the Lord of Canter Town!”

“Hello, Mu Ying from Qingshan City! Just call me by my name,” said Mu Ying.

Aleksey invited her inside, “You came earlier than I expected.”

“I set off immediately after seeing the message on the forum. I flew here and was delayed a bit in the Beastman Wilderness,” Mu Ying explained.

Aleksey’s wooden cabin was not only similar in size to her own cabin but the furnishings inside were also very simple, just some ordinary wooden furniture, showing that the owner led a simple life.

And as a Lord, he was clearly not leading a simple life because he was poor. It was evident that this was his lifestyle. He was fully integrated with the common people and seemed quite approachable as a result.

Mu Ying was seated by the fireplace, and Aleksey personally poured her a cup of honey water.
