I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 443: 426 Lord MokaChapter 443: Chapter 426 Lord Moka

Mu Ying tidied up the luggage she had out in the open, left it in the room, and then headed downstairs to check the drink list that Mina had mentioned.

“Golden Dream—Boss Qi—1 Gold Coin”

“Fiery Flame Burning Love—Ferrero—1 Silver Coin”

“Icebreaker—Curran—80 Copper Coins”

“Midnight Sun—Luosang—1 Silver Coin”

“Red Beauty—Mina—80 Copper Coins”

...

What does this mean?

Why are there names after the drinks? Is this ordering drinks or people? Ordering people?

Mu Ying’s mind raced and she glanced at the owner and servers of the tavern. It did seem that the owner and the two female servers wore somewhat scant clothing.

The two male servers were dressed in clothing that highlighted their physiques, and they both looked pretty good.

And they kept giving her looks.

There was an additional note at the bottom of the drink list: “Enjoy the drinks in your room.”

Before, she had just thought this tavern might be slightly high class, and that the uniforms the servers wore seemed quite nice, but now... she wished she could check out immediately!

“Madam, would you like an Icebreaker?” the male server with “Curran” on his nametag loosened his collar.

Mu Ying shivered, “I want a Red Beauty!”

She had already paid for two days of lodging and she, a Little Priest who was about to use the Transmission Array, couldn’t afford to waste money, right? It should be fine to order a woman to inquire about some news?

“Tsk!” Curran looked at Mina, “You have quite the unique taste.”

Mu Ying: “...”

Damn unique, Mu Ying couldn’t help but swear internally.

Mina came over and squeezed Curran aside, “Please wait a moment, your drink will be brought to your room immediately.”

Mu Ying nodded with a calm appearance but was panicking inside.

Following that, Mina carried the drinks upstairs with her, even brushing past one of the female servers on the stairs, who was followed by a male guest.

Mu Ying clearly felt the peculiar gazes of these two on her.

Once inside her own room with Mina, Mu Ying quickly locked the door behind her.

Mina teased with a laugh, “Don’t be so hasty...”

“You sit there, just sit still, don’t do anything, and just answer whatever I ask!” Mu Ying cut her off before she could finish.

It was only then that Mina felt something was off, but customers who pay are always right. If sitting is what they want, then sit she would!

She complied and sat down, half-leaning on the arm of the chair, revealing two slender legs from the slit of her skirt.

“What do you want to ask me? During the service, I’ll answer anything truthfully.”

Mu Ying coughed lightly, “Don’t get the wrong idea, who knew this place was that kind of tavern? I just wanted to find a lakeside inn to stay at.”

“Are you serious? Special services are not required, but the drink is non-refundable!” Mina said.

Who in their right mind would spend so much more money just for accommodation!

In any case, this is a huge misunderstanding.

“I don’t need that kind of special service, but it’s my first time to Kajiatan and I would like to ask you for some information about this territory, just tell me about it!” Mu Ying said.

That works too, asking for information directly in the room is less conspicuous.

For Mina, this wasn’t a difficult task, far easier than providing special services. She adjusted her posture professionally, retracted her long legs under her skirt, and began to explain earnestly.

Mu Ying listened, and it was roughly the same as the information circulating on the forums.

The Lord of Kajiatan is a Level 4 warrior named Moka.

Before the apocalypse, he was a lawyer working in Kajiatan Town.

His Cultivation talent wasn’t great, but his management ability was quite good, and the city planning of Kajiatan was based on the original Kajiatan Town.

His own strength was average, and he had hardly ventured beyond his territory’s boundaries, but he was adept at using people.

Quite early on, when it was still only a camp Stage, he introduced a territory quest system, and even tasks like building the Transmission Array were outsourced to players.

For those willing to join his cause, especially strong players ranked high on the regional leaderboards, he would even offer a Sub-camp for them to govern autonomously, only asking for a 30% tax share in return.

Players who weren’t as strong could also buy the management rights to a Sub-camp if they paid.

The price was much cheaper than that of Qingshan City.

This strategy was actually quite clever, as territories couldn’t be Shared, but Sub-camps could be given to others.

Who wouldn’t want to own a territory? Even just a camp had a huge allure.

On the surface, it seemed like Moka was giving concessions to others.

But in reality, the Sub-camp was always under the control of the Main Territory, and anyone who took over or bought a Sub-camp was naturally tied to Moka.

If anything happened to Moka, the entire territory, along with the property of those Sub-camp owners, would lose its protection in an instant.

Moreover, if they wanted to expand their Sub-camp, they would need the Main Territory to upgrade, which was the most solid alliance.

Mu Ying estimated Moka’s pricing and realized that selling a Sub-camp was a good deal for him; just the sale alone was profitable.

The world is indeed full of clever people; by allocating Sub-camps, Moka not only made money but also tied the talents to the place. Every bit of profit they made from managing their Sub-camps, Moka would get a cut, almost like they were franchisees.

The franchisees might operate at a loss, but the headquarters was sure to profit.

This territory offered the greatest incentives to talented individuals because Moka himself wasn’t very strong and was eager to retain players with good strength and Talent.

According to Mina, the Kajiatan Territory Internal Network had also posted a quest to establish a Cross-Regional Transfer Array. Anyone who managed to transport a Transfer Array model across regions and establish a Transmission Array between Xia Country’s Lingtian Town, Ximei Maple Town, or South Australia Noa City would be rewarded with a Sub-camp.

Upon hearing this, Mu Ying understood Moka’s intentions; he was obviously not willing to directly open a Transmission Array with powerful competitors of Kajiatan City.

The first two targets would take a while to upgrade to a City-level Territory, and the last one was too poor to compare with Kajiatan. Once a Transmission Array was opened, it’s likely the strong players would move to his territory.

As the territory on Deep Blue Star where it was easiest to obtain a Sub-camp, it should be very attractive to players with assets and strength who wanted to manage their own forces.

Moka clearly valued these high-quality players. In fact, when compared, the treatment of strong players in Qingshan City was nowhere near as good as in Kajiatan City. Relatively speaking, whether it was the number of job positions or the discounts in specialty stores, it was more advantageous for mid- to low-tier players.

But the test house and Talent Monument in Qingshan City held a great attraction for strong players, especially those who still wanted to improve themselves.

If a Transmission Array was directly opened with Qingshan City, there would undoubtedly be an outflow of strong players.

Having figured this out, Mu Ying knew that there was no possibility of cooperation between Qingshan City and Kajiatan City for the time being, as their needs differed too much to reach an agreement.
