Chapter 434: 418: Transmission Array NetworkChapter 434: Chapter 418: Transmission Array Network

“I heard Mu Ying was at Yushan Camp the day before yesterday, said she’s coming to our Yingtan to build a Transmission Array. No idea when she’ll arrive.”

The players who got up early for breakfast at Yingtan Camp were chatting with their familiar companions.

“Right now, we don’t even know how far Yushan is from here; might still be a while!”

“That won’t do! I heard that Mu Ying can fly. I reckon she’ll be here in a couple of days. Have you saved up enough money? I’m planning to use the Transmission Array as soon as it’s up and head to Qingshan City. The prospects there are definitely better than in Yingtan. Get there early, accumulate Contribution Points, and at least you won’t have to worry about waking up one day to find the camp gone.”

“I’ve got enough, I’ve got enough! Let’s go together when it’s time! We can share a rental in Qingshan City!”

“Sounds good... Oh? Why are there so many people gathered over there?”

They saw quite a crowd in the middle of the square, and out of curiosity, they went over to ask and found out the Transmission Array had already been built.

“The Transmission Array is operational? When was it built? It wasn’t there last night, and I didn’t see Mu Ying either. I’ve heard she has green hair and green eyes, infused with a special bloodline. I was hoping to get a glimpse of what she looks like!”

...

Mu Ying arrived in Yingtan in the middle of last night. Finding a location this time was quicker thanks to the mountains as a reference, and she was quite lucky.

She decided to build the Transmission Array in the dead of night. After completion, she used it to return to her own territory and provided some magic power to the plants in her Plantation that needed it to grow better.

Before dawn, she teleported back to Yingtan Camp and continued on to her next target, Hechi Camp.

In total, there were nine camps scattered in various locations of Xia Country Camp. Mu Ying had been running around since midsummer and didn’t finish the construction until early autumn.

Latter on, every time she opened up a Transmission Array, Mu Ying would teleport back to her territory to rest for half a day and take care of the Magic Plants.

Otherwise, no matter whether it was windy or raining, she was always on the road.

She never even took out her Magic Hut to use; she slept on her Flying Carpet every night. She only stopped each day when she managed to cast a spell successfully, practiced in a suitable place for a while, and then kept on going.

By now, she had already mastered three 5-ring spells: Thunderstorm Skill, Thorny Wall Skill, and Tree Jumping Skill.

As she got better with the Tree Jumping Skill, when she started repeating the practice to increase proficiency, she also used the skill to travel through forests.

Moving with the help of trees was faster than the Magic Flying Carpet. Every tree was like a personal Transmission Array for her. However, the spell’s duration was short, so except for practicing, she couldn’t afford to use it for traveling.

Learning 5-ring spells indeed slowed down a lot, but each spell made Mu Ying feel the effort was worth it.

Whether it was watching a vast thunder cloud stir up a storm under her control, the thick Thorny Wall rising from the ground, or her body merging with the trees and jumping freely through the woods, she felt the thrill of wielding power.

After connecting with the last camp, Su Mu Camp, with a Transmission Array, Mu Ying also teleported back to her territory immediately. This time she planned to stay in the territory for a few more days, gathering the latest updates from the other regional territories over the past few months, to plan her subsequent construction of the Cross-Regional Transfer Array.

After all, besides the Xia Country Region, there were five other regions with seven main territories that needed to be prioritized.

Over these months, both Kajiatan Territory in Bear Country and Maz Territory in Western Beauty have been upgraded to City-level Territories.

Additionally, Luoya Town in Northern Europe and Neon’s Sakura Town were said to be striving to speed up their construction.

In particular, Neon’s Sakura Town, not wanting to fall behind, called for players to move to the territory to increase its population, as well as to donate money to hasten construction, even invoking the national and regional pride from before the apocalypse.

The effect was indeed notable.

With so many precedents set before, the standards for city-level territories had been roughly figured out, and these two territories were not far from upgrading either.

For those territories that felt they had a chance at competing for a city-level territory, they paid exceptional attention to Qingshan City and Mu Ying’s series of actions.

Although when she initially sent out the message to collect tasks, some people on the Forum had guessed her intentions.

But apart from the employees involved in the information filtering, nobody expected that she would be able to build nine Long-distance Transmission Arrays.

This was in spite of the fact that Qingshan City had over a dozen sub-camps.

Just these alone were already equivalent to 1,000 Gold Coins, the cost of building a Cross-Regional Transfer Array.

On the World Forum, one post had been hanging at the top of the hot topics list for several months now.

“Qingshan City is building so many Long-distance Transmission Arrays, does that mean they don’t want to build a Cross-Regional Transfer Array for the time being?”

Mu Ying saw this post when she returned to Qingshan City after building the Transmission Array at Su Mu Camp and went back to rest at her plantation.

During that time on the road, she had been quite busy; aside from eating and sleeping, she practiced her Spells throughout the journey, and since she had the scenery to enjoy during meals, she didn’t spend much time on the Forum to pass time.

It was somewhat relaxing to catch up on some gossip now, as there were quite insightful posts among them.

For example, one person said, “I’ve done a rough calculation, those sub-camps of Qingshan City can barely break even in terms of revenue, just enough to pay wages to Local People and maintain the consumption of the protective shield, leaving not much, with the main income still from entrance fees and house rentals. The territorial net income accumulated up to now at most amounts to 2,000 Gold Coins. If they continue building Long-distance Transmission Arrays, it’s certain they won’t have funds for a Cross-Regional Transfer Array.”

It had to be admitted, his calculations were quite accurate, only off by a few hundred Gold Coins.

Actually, the rate of asset accumulation in the territory was indeed very slow by now, and the Gold Coins saved up by the territory each day did not exceed ten.

Of course, this was under the premise that Mu Ying’s personal income wasn’t included.

The Magic Potions she placed in the Territory Specialty Store were rarely affordable for players, but the mermaids and Half-Breeds bought quite a few, earning her a considerable sum, plus what Sharon contributed, leaving nothing for others to worry about.

Someone else commented, “The Xia Country Region was one of the most densely populated areas before the apocalypse, and even now, it has a large land area. Even with the significant reduction in population, it’s still not to be underestimated. Maybe building Long-distance Transmission Arrays is the most cost-effective choice for them? With their own region’s population being abundant, why bother building a Cross-Regional Transfer Array? At least for now, the standards for upgrading a territory only count the population number, not the quality.”

This remark on the analysis of population wasn’t without reason, but Mu Ying had longer-term plans than they thought, desiring both quantity and quality.

Convenient transportation was also an important aspect of her territory’s future development. Maybe territory upgrades wouldn’t consider population quality, but it was very important for her Underground City; the stronger the individuals, the higher the quality of emotional strength they provided.

In today’s world, with such a sparse population, no region could afford to be ignored.

In her vision, Qingshan City would be the transport hub and central city of the entire Deep Blue Star in the future.
