I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 442: 425 Kajiatan City_2Chapter 442: Chapter 425 Kajiatan City_2

Mu Ying, being a Lord herself, was crystal clear about the actual energy consumption of Long-distance Transmission Arrays. A single person’s transport cost was 10 silver coins, and even a full load at 1 silver coin was already quite profitable. At most, when fully loaded, the profits were a bit less, but each time there was still a profit of 5 silver coins.

Calculating for the Bear Country’s side, a single-person transport could earn 9 silver coins each time, and multiple-person full-load transport could earn 15 silver coins each time. That was a substantial profit.

However, too big a profit, and too high a price weren’t good either. It would lead to many people not being able to afford the transport, and surely the population growth in the territory would slow down.

Mu Ying and her group of ten stepped onto the Transmission Array, and then she took out her transport fee. The Transmission Array activated, and after a brief moment of dizziness, they arrived in Kajiatan City.

What first caught their sight was a large lake, shimmering like a sapphire. The weather was fine, with brilliant sunlight reflected on the water’s surface, glittering and particularly beautiful to gaze upon.

Kajiatan City was surprisingly built around the lake, with over half of the territory being on the lake itself.

Within this half of the lake that lay inside the territory, there were stone platforms at regular intervals, with people fishing and angling on them.

The shoreline was an expansive flat meadow, while only in the undulating mountains in the distance could one see some forests.

It was estimated that a significant part of the Main Territory was on the lake, with the remaining areas ashore constituting the main residential area of the city.

A City-level Territory had a population of at least ten thousand. The architecture in the residential area seemed a bit more crowded than in Qingshan City.

It looked quite similar to the architecture of Bear Country’s cities before the apocalypse.

The place where the Transmission Array was located was also a square, and beyond the square was a row of tightly packed five-story buildings with red tiles and white walls, square and sturdy, with exterior staircases. The ground floors housed shops, with residences above.

The streets outside the residential buildings were clean and tidy, paved with stone slabs.

The streets were noticeably busier than at Wulan Camp, with more shops and more players.

This place had a completely different style from Qingshan City, but it was still a beautiful territory.

Mainly, the big lake on the edge of the territory was too enchanting! Having gathered information for the past few days, she decided to find an inn on the lakefront street to stay at!

As newcomers to the area, after taking a quick look around, the squad of seven that had come with them left first, since they were just companions on the same road with no extensive connections.

“I’m going to find a place to stay too, see you if we’re fated to meet again!” Palmino greeted Mu Ying and her group, and then left.

Mu Ying noticed that Mucun hadn’t moved yet, so she said to him, “I plan to stay here for a couple of days before leaving, so I’ll bid you farewell first.”

“Alright!”

Mu Ying walked toward the other side of the square for a while, and when she turned back, Mucun had already reached another Transmission Array, presumably planning to head to Canter Town right away.

She didn’t mind, heading straight for the street by the lake.

After careful observation, Mu Ying found that the most bustling streets in Kajiatan appeared to be this lakeside street and a main street running straight through to the territory’s main gate.

The shops weren’t much of a novelty; their types were about the same as those in her own territory.

There was also a chain store of the Copper Coin Trading Company here: the Copper Coin Tavern.

It looked quite impressive, occupying a whole building, and considering its size, it should have lodging facilities.

Combining a tavern and an inn in this way would be convenient for her lodging, and for gathering information as well.

Having entered the tavern, Mu Ying saw a woman leaning against the bar, wearing a low-cut, tight-fitting long dress with big red waves in her hair, blowing a smoke ring and looking over at Mu Ying with a playful remark, “Kids aren’t allowed to drink alcohol, you know!”

Mu Ying: “...”

The woman wore the badge only seen on the Copper Coin Trading Company bosses, evidently indicating she was the boss herself.

Mu Ying was fairly acquainted with the Copper Coin Trading Company. It was a large trading firm, and many of the bosses of its shops were recruited and trained by the company; they weren’t particularly strong, but they did have a certain Talent for business.

The shops themselves belonged to the Copper Coin Trading Company, and these bosses would climb the ranks based on performance. This boss had a slightly higher rank than Jiu San; her number was 146777.

If she wasn’t strong, she must have judged Mu Ying’s age by her appearance, hence the remark. Therefore, Mu Ying emphasized, “I just look young.”

“Whatever. Want a drink?” the boss inquired.

Mu Ying shook her head: “I plan to stay here for a couple of days. Do you have a room with a street view that can see the lake?”

“Yes, we do. A standard room is 20 copper coins a night, a standard room is 30 copper coins a night...”

“I’ll take a regular room for two nights,” Mu Ying said, paying in advance. At the moment, she was playing the role of a slightly well-off regular player, naturally choosing the cheapest option.

The prices here sure were steep, eh? The inns in Qingshan City had regular single rooms for 8 to 10 copper coins.

However, this inn seemed to have a higher standard, and there were several servers.

The tavern boss called one of the servers cleaning tables to show her the room.

“Hello, I’m Mina. Are you from Xia Country or Neon?” Mina asked Mu Ying as they went upstairs.

“Xia Country.” When Mu Ying heard her ask that way, she knew she must be a player.

And indeed she was.

“This is the room, here is your key.”

Before Mu Ying could inquire further, Mina had already shown her to the room: “The tavern provides meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which you can go downstairs to partake in. No cleaning service is offered during your stay...”

Mina briefly introduced the tavern’s main services and was ready to go back to work.

Mu Ying tipped her a copper coin: “I’m new in Kajiatan City and don’t understand a lot of things yet. Can I talk to you later?”

“If you order drinks at the tavern, waiter service will be included. You can have a look at the drink menu if you like,” Mina said as she winked, giving Mu Ying a sizing-up glance, “Looks like Xia Country people really do appear young!”

Mu Ying watched her walk away, completely baffled.

So strange, having money for a chat wasn’t enough? You need to buy drinks first to get some public information?
