Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

51: Chapter 51 The Eighteenth ArrivalThis was a ”Plain” covered in low shrubs. Looking at this Plain from the distant horizon, one could see the Ground of the Plain fluctuate up and down from time to time, as if it were breathing.

In the center of the Plain was a deep pit, filled with countless milky-white roots. A faint red light emanated from where the Tentacles overlapped.

Eighteen’s wings, which had been torn off during the fight with the Giant Scorpion, had long since been repaired. However, it did not leave the ”Plain” afterward, instead remaining in the sky above the Plain, waiting for the tumor to regenerate.

Because it had personally suffered the blow of ”chaotic information,” Eighteen was very sensitive to creatures carrying ”chaotic information.”

Regarding Lin Sheng’s physical condition, Eighteen couldn’t explain it to him due to the language barrier, but that didn’t mean Eighteen wouldn’t try to find a solution for him.

In Eighteen’s view, Lin Sheng’s physical condition was almost ”terminally ill.” Even though Lin Sheng’s consciousness was very clear, his physical state admitted no delay.

And this tumor that Eighteen was currently waiting for was prepared for Lin Sheng.

Although this kind of tumor had no suppressive effect on ”chaotic information,” it could enhance a biological body’s physical form.

Eighteen’s idea was to harmonize Lin Sheng’s terrible physical condition by enhancing his body.

...

For the past few days, Eighteen had been hunting at high altitudes, dropping the captured prey to the Ground for the ”Plain” to absorb.

The ”Plain” had also noticed something unusual these days. Although it lacked visual organs and couldn’t see the situation around it, it could sense the powerful auras nearby.

The ”Plain” felt very angry about the lingering powerful aura that had been near it recently.

If Eighteen were to enter its body, it could completely kill it.

Regardless, Eighteen was a normal creature, unlike itself, which could only hunt passively.

Left with no choice, the ”Plain” could only ignore the aura it detested and concentrate on nurturing its ”bait.”

The larger the ”bait,” the wider its radiation range, and the more creatures it could lure.

Watching the moon-colored tumor below, which had already reached a diameter of several dozen meters, Eighteen knew it was time to harvest.

This time it didn’t roar, but instead silently floated near the blood-colored tumor.

Eighteen controlled its own magnetic field, trying its best not to let the ”Plain” discover its presence.

But just as its claws were about to touch the blood-colored tumor, the ”Plain” still discovered it and reacted.

The milky-white roots suddenly contracted, and the passage closed almost at the same time.

But at such a close distance, how could Eighteen possibly fail?

Before the cavity closed, Eighteen’s four limbs reached inside.

Its four claws constantly churned within the inner walls of the cavity. In pain, the ”Plain” could only helplessly surrender its bait once more.

Tearing off the blood-colored tumor, Eighteen rose and left the ”Plain” without looking back.

The direction it was flying was exactly where Lin Sheng was located.

Since every creature has its own unique electromagnetic field, Eighteen could easily determine Lin Sheng’s location within the range of Earth through his electromagnetic field.

...

Ever since evolving ”Weak Control over Electrical Energy” into ”Weak Control over Electromagnetism,” Lin Sheng had been practicing this talent lately.

Over the past few days, through practice, Lin Sheng had become proficient in using the Electromagnetic Force to control creatures.

When controlling living things less than 200 meters in size, Lin Sheng did so with ease.

If the creature he controlled didn’t resist much, Lin Sheng wouldn’t even need to consume extra evolution points.

But if the captured creature resisted strongly, or if its size was too large, Lin Sheng would need to consume extra evolution points to increase the intensity of the Electromagnetic Force.

Because during this period, Lin Sheng’s size had already reached 300 meters, he would mostly prey on creatures around 300 meters in size.

Consequently, he would basically consume some evolution points while hunting.

Lin Sheng felt this was perfectly understandable.

After all, he understood the concept of ”tax deduction”; these consumed evolution points were just like paying taxes.

Just today, Lin Sheng, as usual, used the Electromagnetic Force to control a Mantis Shrimp in the distance, making it run toward his mouth.

Its body covered by a strange magnetic field, the Mantis Shrimp twitched a few times, but once it realized twitching was futile, it decisively gave up struggling.

The creatures in this sea area were just like that, either: ”Something’s wrong? It hurts! Am I going to die? So be it.”

Or: ”Something’s wrong? It doesn’t hurt? Then it’s fine, I won’t die.”

Their lives were like this, always very peaceful. Even if there were occasional external troubles, those troubles would either be assimilated or resolved by ”God.”

During the days Lin Sheng spent here, he had also been fortunate enough to encounter external trouble.

That time, a monster over three thousand meters long arrived. When the monster appeared, ”Omniscience” hadn’t given Lin Sheng a warning. Lin Sheng was startled upon seeing the monster and once thought that ”Omniscience” had failed.

But the subsequent development of events made Lin Sheng realize that it wasn’t that Omniscience had failed, but that he simply wasn’t in danger.

Lin Sheng still hadn’t forgotten that scene.

The monster had only just approached this sea area when its entire body was pierced by countless light blue needles. The monster’s stiff body couldn’t even make any significant defensive movements before it became a corpse.

Pulling back his wandering thoughts, Lin Sheng refocused his attention on the Mantis Shrimp before him.

The Mantis Shrimp’s body was flat and long, a body shape very suitable for Lin Sheng to devour.

After devouring this Mantis Shrimp, Lin Sheng was about to catch another one when a sudden flash of insight struck his heart.

’Eighteen is looking for me.’

Lin Sheng hurriedly rose from the sand and rocks on the seabed. Controlling the magnetic field around his body and coordinating it with the nuclear energy ejected from his tail, he burst through the seawater and headed straight toward Eighteen’s direction.

Lin Sheng needed to find Eighteen before it reached this sea area, because once Eighteen entered this area, the consequences would be unimaginable.

With Eighteen’s strength, it was definitely no match for ”God.”

Although he had lived here for these past few days, Lin Sheng hadn’t seen ”God” hunt any creatures in the sky, but he couldn’t be sure that ”God” definitely wouldn’t.

What if those in the sky sensed the threat in the sea and simply didn’t fly over this sea area?

What if Eighteen thought he was in danger and dove straight into the sea?

Since Eighteen treated Lin Sheng as family, Lin Sheng didn’t want Eighteen to encounter any danger.

”Phew~”

”Fortunately, I made it in time.”

After leaving the sea area where ”God” was located, Lin Sheng breathed a sigh of relief.

He slowed down, stopped the nuclear energy ejecting from the tip of his tail, and used the Electromagnetic Force to fly toward Eighteen’s direction.

Although Lin Sheng could already proficiently use the Electromagnetic Force to grab objects, this was his first time using it to fly.

For some reason, Lin Sheng always felt like something on the Ground was ”pulling” him down forcefully, making it impossible for him to fly easily.

Under the effect of this suction, Lin Sheng could only fly normally in the air by using a large number of evolution points to increase the intensity of the magnetic field.

’That’s the effect of gravity.’

’The intensity of the Electromagnetic Force I control needs to overcome gravity to fly normally in the air.’

Lin Sheng understood.

He immediately stopped the boost from evolution points and kept the Electromagnetic Force at an intensity that didn’t require consuming them.

”Clang! Clang!”

Eighteen’s voice came from the distant horizon. Seeing Lin Sheng coming out to meet it, Eighteen let out a series of joyful metallic sounds.

Sensing the Electromagnetic Force lingering around Lin Sheng, a hint of confusion flashed in Eighteen’s eyes.

Lin Sheng’s changes over these days were too great, somewhat exceeding its expectations.

First was his size. Eighteen clearly remembered that when it left, it could hold Lin Sheng in its hand with a single claw.

But now? What kind of thing was this, with a body length a full fifth of its own?

If it weren’t for the fact that Lin Sheng’s biological magnetic field hadn’t changed much, Eighteen wouldn’t have dared to recognize the creature before it.
