Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

65: Chapter 65 The BonecrusherIf this were truly the case, it would mean a hidden danger for Lin Sheng had been resolved; he would be able to wake up laughing from his dreams.

However, for now, the primary goal was still devouring these skeletons. Other matters could be set aside for now and thought through carefully once the task was finished.

Grabbing a small pile of bones from the ground, Lin Sheng didn’t even clean off the moon dust covering them before stuffing them directly into his mouth.

Likely because these skeletons had been left on the moon for a long time, the energy within them had almost completely dissipated.

If Lin Sheng hadn’t been taking such large bites, there probably wouldn’t have been any evolution points at all.

...

After an unknown amount of time, night fell on the moon.

When the moon entered night, the dark side became pitch black.

Fortunately, Lin Sheng possessed a ”Natural Grade” visual talent, allowing him to see everything clearly even in such a dark place.

He had already eaten all the nearby skeletons, but aside from the pitifully few notifications of incoming evolution points, there was no reaction regarding talent-related content.

In this situation, Lin Sheng could only continue devouring.

”Omniscience” was a ”Truth Level” talent. Since it indicated that swallowing these skeletons could grant a talent, it must be true. As for why he hadn’t obtained a talent yet, it was surely because he hadn’t swallowed enough.

Lin Sheng encouraged himself in his heart.

...

After an unknown amount of time.

[Host has met the conditions for Evolution. Please Host undergo Evolution within 1 Earth day, otherwise the opportunity will be voided.]

As soon as the system notification sounded, Lin Sheng immediately stopped his movements. Not only that, he even spat out the bones he already had in his mouth.

Although eating these bones added evolution points, Lin Sheng felt that even if he ate dirt in such large gulps, the evolution points gained would probably be the same.

Eating these bones kept him on edge; instead of eating this stuff here, he might as well go to Earth and eat dirt.

Returning to the bright side of the moon, Lin Sheng lay down in a crater.

He ordered the system in his mind:

”System, begin Evolution.”

[Ding]

[This Evolution will consume 30 Earth stellar days. Please wait patiently, Host.]

After the system finished speaking, Lin Sheng voluntarily fell into a deep sleep.

...

After Lin Sheng left, the dark side of the moon returned to peace.

But the peace did not last long...

Late one night, the dark side of the moon was incredibly pitch black.

In this pitch-black space, ripples like water waves appeared out of thin air.

Centered on a certain ”point” in the air, the ripples radiated an irregularly distorted space with a radius of about 30,000 meters.

The first to emerge from the ripples was a terrifying giant beast over ten thousand meters long.

The giant beast had a massive, Titan-like body.

Its head looked somewhat like a Goblin’s, but much more majestic.

Its body was covered in green fur. This fur seemed to have a life of its own; even though the giant beast was dead, the fur swayed gently in the moon’s pseudo-vacuum environment as if it were alive.

But soon, due to the extremely low temperature of the moon, the dead Green-Haired Titan lost its energy supply, and the green fur on its surface began to slowly stiffen.

Stiffening along with the green fur was the green-haired monster’s blood.

From the moment it appeared on the moon, the green-haired monster’s blood quickly solidified due to the low temperature. Because of this, even though its body was covered in terrifying wounds, not a single drop of blood appeared around it.

Emerging after the Green-Haired Titan was a terrifying monster even larger than the Green-Haired Titan.

The Green-Haired Titan’s ten-thousand-meter body, in comparison, barely reached a quarter of this monster’s size.

This monster had a hideous head, below which was a thick, short neck connected to a slightly bloated body.

On its two thick arms grew several sharp and slender claws, which seemed specifically evolved for stripping bones.

Aside from its hideous head, the monster’s entire body was enveloped in gray mist. Where the mist spread, the details of the monster’s body were impossible for the naked eye of other creatures to see.

The monster held the Green-Haired Titan’s head and one leg in its two claws. When the monster fully appeared on the dark side of the moon, it immediately saw Lin Sheng’s handiwork.

Originally, before it left, skeletons had almost covered the entire dark side of the moon, but now only about a third remained.

Seeing this, the monster suddenly froze on the spot.

For a moment, it didn’t react to what was going on.

But after regaining its senses, the monster suddenly became exceptionally irritable.

These things were its trophies, artworks ”meticulously carved” by it.

Even if these artworks were useless to it, it didn’t want its trophies stolen by other creatures.

The monster forcefully threw the Green-Haired Titan’s corpse it was holding onto the ground. Even though the moon’s gravity was low, under the monster’s immense strength, the corpse still smashed a large crater into the moon.

Dust rose all around, covering the monster’s body and making the already angry monster even more furious.

It raised its head. Although no sound came from its mouth, a burst of strange electromagnetic waves radiated across the entire Earth-Moon system at the speed of light.

...

Far away in hibernation in Earth’s orbit, Eighteen was suddenly jolted awake by this burst of electromagnetic waves. It raised its head and watched the moon on the other side with a gaze filled with a hint of hatred.

After a while, when the electromagnetic waves disappeared, Eighteen retracted its gaze and continued to immerse itself in its hibernation.

...

The silent roar could not vent the anger in its heart, and the monster temporarily abandoned the idea of eating.

Gray mist surged around its body, and in just a dozen breaths, the monster flew to the edge of the moon’s dark side.

It extended its claw, wanting to cross the boundary and touch the light on the other side.

But after standing at the boundary for a long time, the monster’s claw remained suspended in mid-air, never crossing the unobstructed boundary.

As if having made a decision, the monster tentatively extended its suspended claw toward the bright side.

The claw was illuminated by sunlight, showing no abnormalities, and the monster didn’t experience any adverse reactions.

But as the sunlight hit, some light filtered through the gray mist covering the monster’s claw, making the mist no longer able to effectively hide the monster’s physical appearance.

Several Tentacles flickered faintly in the gray mist. Seeing these Tentacles, the monster immediately retracted its claw.

It raised its head again, roaring at the sky in unwilling rage.
