Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

50: Chapter 50 Weak Control of Electromagnetic Force”System, I f*ck your f*ck.”

After the system’s voice faded, Lin Sheng offered it a ”cordial” greeting.

However, the system did not respond to Lin Sheng’s greetings.

Lin Sheng stopped after he grew tired of cursing.

It was no fun cursing a system that wouldn’t talk back. Rather than wasting his breath on it, he might as well consider whether to stay here.

According to the information provided by ”Omniscience,” as long as a creature’s body length exceeded 571 meters, it would be devoured by that so-called ”God.”

Furthermore, that God devoured not only the creature’s physical body but also its consciousness.

However, Lin Sheng wasn’t very worried about this point.

Whenever he faced powerful creatures, his concern had always been his body being eaten.

As for his consciousness, the two words ”Truth Level” gave Lin Sheng a sufficient sense of security.

After wandering around for a while, Lin Sheng decided to observe first.

Although the so-called ”God” brought him great pressure, ”Omniscience” also stated that the ”God” would only devour creatures exceeding 571 meters in length.

Currently, Lin Sheng’s body length was only a bit over 200 meters, a very safe size. Even staying here wouldn’t be dangerous.

It just so happened there was a Mantis Shrimp over 560 meters long right now. With the energy here being so abundant, it would grow to 571 meters in a matter of a day or two. Lin Sheng decided to wait here for two days.

...

Time flew by as Lin Sheng waited.

Over these two days, his evolution points grew rapidly, and along with them, his body size also saw a significant increase.

During these days of observation, Lin Sheng discovered a strange phenomenon.

He found that this sea area was strangely calm.

In all these days, the creatures living in this sea area hadn’t engaged in a single fight, not even a minor friction.

Lin Sheng was very surprised by this, and because of it, these past few days could be called a bumper harvest.

The creatures here were completely indifferent to his hunting. The ones Lin Sheng targeted as prey would only struggle a bit at the moment of death.

As for the other creatures, they didn’t show the slightest reaction when Lin Sheng hunted the ones right next to them.

...

On this day, Lin Sheng lay on the seabed early, his eyes staring unblinkingly at every move of that Mantis Shrimp.

「570.7 meters」

「570.9 meters」

「...」

Lin Sheng counted silently in his heart, and at that moment, an abnormality suddenly appeared in the Mantis Shrimp in the distance.

Its body suddenly stiffened, and then it began to twitch convulsively.

The scale of this twitching was very eerie. Its body was straight as if nailed into the seawater by something. Although its twitching looked violent, the range was pitifully small.

Lin Sheng focused his gaze, and his Natural Grade visual talent came into play at this moment.

He saw that the surface of the Mantis Shrimp was covered with blue-glowing ”fine needles.”

These ”fine needles” were inserted from all directions, penetrating the Mantis Shrimp’s entire body, forcing it to remain rigid and unable to move.

The color of these ”fine needles” was very close to the color of the seawater. If it hadn’t been for the Mantis Shrimp’s incident, Lin Sheng wouldn’t have been able to see them at all.

Lin Sheng continued to observe from a distance. After a period of violent struggling, the Mantis Shrimp went still.

Then Lin Sheng discovered that after the Mantis Shrimp died, those ”fine needles” shifted and merged into one, turning into a blue light only slightly brighter than the seabed, which enveloped the Mantis Shrimp’s corpse.

After that, Lin Sheng saw that once enveloped by the light, the Mantis Shrimp’s body was rapidly dissolving.

Looking closely, Lin Sheng found that rather than dissolving, it was more like the Mantis Shrimp’s body was becoming transparent.

The Mantis Shrimp was being decomposed by the blue light into nutrients for it. Once its body completely disappeared, its ”mission” would be complete.

Lin Sheng noticed that when the Mantis Shrimp vanished entirely, the ball of blue light dove straight into the seabed.

Lin Sheng muttered in his heart:

”Is that ball of blue light the ’God’ that popped into my head earlier?”

「Correct, that is God」

Lin Sheng was very surprised because this God didn’t look like a god at all.

Or perhaps this was what a god should look like; after all, the gods in Lin Sheng’s cognition were just human fantasies.

However, Lin Sheng was more inclined to believe that this so-called God was merely a creature powerful enough to be called a ”God.”

After all, the system had said before that this so-called God was just a lower lifeform.

If this ”God” were a true god, the system definitely wouldn’t use the term ”lower lifeform” as a metaphor.

At the very least, it would be a ”lower deity”...

After thinking it over, Lin Sheng ultimately couldn’t reach a conclusion regarding this ”God’s” identity, so he simply stopped considering the issue for now.

In any case, the road was still long, and he had ”Omniscience.” When he was strong enough one day, he could just catch this so-called ”God” and study it.

Once he thought through this, Lin Sheng’s mood relaxed.

After several days of heavy feeding, Lin Sheng’s body length was now close to 300 meters, and his evolution points exceeded 20 million. Lin Sheng planned to do ten random draws.

Although random draws were risky, if he used the evolution points for Evolution, Lin Sheng’s body would inevitably grow by a large margin.

This place had a size limit. If Lin Sheng’s body length grew too quickly, he would have to leave.

Furthermore, now that he had evolution points, Lin Sheng’s gambler personality began to stir again.

While random draws were extremely risky, their upper limit was also extremely high.

If another item on the same level as ”oracle” came out, wouldn’t he make a huge profit?

Even if nothing came out, it didn’t matter. Anyway, wild evolution points were everywhere in this sea area. Wasting these 10 million evolution points would just be a lesson learned.

”System, ten random draws.”

[Ding]

[Host has consumed 10 million evolution points. Random draw beginning]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining: evolution points *1]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining: evolution points *5]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining: evolution points *250 (3)]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining talent: Super Hibernation (Balance Grade). You can actively enter a hibernation state. During hibernation, there is no energy loss. Hibernation time is determined by the Host’s lifespan]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining: talent evolution card (Balance Grade) *1]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining: spicy chicken leg burger *1]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining talent: Hardened Surface (Low Level). Your skin has become a bit harder]

[Congratulations to Host for obtaining talent: Steel Fangs (Low Level). Your teeth are as hard as steel]

Looking at these items obtained from the draw, Lin Sheng had a feeling of them being ”tasteless to eat, but a pity to throw away.”

The two low-level talents went without saying; Lin Sheng felt these two talents were practically negative upgrades for him.

Just take that description of Steel Fangs...

With Lin Sheng’s current body, if his teeth weren’t already harder than steel, then he would have grown to this size for nothing.

And then there was that ”Super Hibernation” talent. Although its rank was ”Balance Grade,” Lin Sheng really couldn’t think of a use for it.

Finally, there was that ”spicy chicken leg burger.” After seeing that thing, Lin Sheng choked on a large mouthful of seawater.

Among the prizes this time, the only useful one was that ”Balance Grade” talent evolution card.

In the draw information, a single Balance Grade draw cost 100 million evolution points.

In other words, this talent evolution card was worth at least 100 million. If the talent evolved was some high-level talent, its value would be more than 100 million.

Thinking of this, Lin Sheng suddenly felt this draw wasn’t such a loss.

He glanced at the talents he had below Balance Grade. Following his intuition, Lin Sheng chose to evolve ”Weak Control over Electrical Energy.”

Although this talent hadn’t played a role during his ”First Battle of the Ocean” with the Giant Fish, Lin Sheng’s intuition came from ”Omniscience,” and he trusted the choice of this Truth Level talent.

”System, use the talent evolution card to evolve the talent: Weak Control over Electrical Energy.”

[Ding]

[Host is using a talent evolution card. Talent: ’Weak Control over Electrical Energy’ is beginning to evolve]

[Talent Evolution complete. Congratulations to Host for obtaining talent: Weak Control over Electromagnetism (Balance Grade)]

[Weak Control over Electromagnetism: You can use Electromagnetic Force in a rudimentary way]
