Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

60: Chapter 60 Unidentified Flying ObjectsThe acid pool was shallow, but its surface area was massive.

After the acid pool formed, Lin Sheng returned to the top of the Flesh Ball.

He opened his massive maw, and a large amount of strong acid was once again spat out from his mouth, this time covering the Flesh Ball’s entire body from top to bottom.

”Boom! Crackle!”

Thunder continued to strike the Flesh Ball. Under the bombardment of lightning, the strong acid covering the surface of the Flesh Ball was instantly ignited by the bolts.

Flames soared into the Sky, and the thunder in the Sky continued unabated.

Looking from a distance, the scene here appeared like a natural disaster.

No! It wasn’t just ’like’ one; it could already be considered a true natural disaster.

Under the continuous assault of this ”natural disaster,” the Flesh Ball’s vital signs began to grow weaker and weaker.

But the good times didn’t last. The dark clouds in the Sky could no longer bear the weight of the rainwater within them, and a heavy downpour was about to commence.

Sensing the air above his head, which remained slightly damp even under the scorching heat of the flames, Lin Sheng let out a roar toward the heavens.

”Awoo!”

Intense electromagnetic radiation radiated outward with Lin Sheng as the center. The high temperature caused the water droplets in the dark clouds to instantly vaporize.

Under Lin Sheng’s continuous, high-intensity output of electromagnetic radiation, the pitch-black clouds began to slowly thin out, getting lighter and lighter until they were transparent.

A few Atmospheric Creatures above the cloud layer saw the scene below and immediately fled the area without looking back.

Once the dark clouds became transparent, the thunder also ceased, but the great fire showed no intention of stopping.

Lin Sheng hovered beside the Flesh Ball, continuously converting the evolution points obtained from Stellar Energy into strong acid.

「No vital signs detected.」

Another three days passed, and Omniscience gave its reminder once again.

Lin Sheng breathed a sigh of relief, as if a heavy burden had been lifted.

He remained near the Flesh Ball’s corpse for another two days, waiting until the flames had completely burned out before he got up to leave.

Originally, he had wanted to use the Flesh Ball to replenish his evolution points, but the Flesh Ball’s body was incredibly hard. Even using all his strength, Lin Sheng could only scrape off a small piece of its outer shell.

But that single small piece of shell was enough to make Lin Sheng abandon the idea of eating the Flesh Ball.

It wasn’t just that the Flesh Ball’s defense was ridiculously strong; the main reason was that, according to Lin Sheng’s sense of taste, this Flesh Ball tasted like ”boogers.”

...

One day.

Two days.

Dozens of days after Lin Sheng left, the atmosphere above the wasteland was suddenly pierced by an external object.

An unidentified creature about 5,000 meters long came from the distant starry Sky and stopped above the Flesh Ball.

This creature had an oval-shaped body. On one side of the oval was a giant suction cup, and behind the suction cup were four eyes arranged in a row.

Behind the eyes was a pair of giant sickle-shaped appendages, which appeared to be the oval creature’s only means of attack.

At the other end of the oval creature were four appendages that looked like rocket tail fins. The creature’s appearance seemed specifically evolved for space travel.

After seeing what it was looking for, the creature extinguished the unidentified exhaust flames spraying from its tail.

Then...

”Thump!”

It fell directly from the Sky. The massive sound startled the small creatures in the distance, causing them to flee in all directions.

The impact left the creature dazed for a moment, but it quickly recovered.

It used its two sickle-like forelimbs to prop up its body, keeping it parallel to the Ground.

Its four eyes rolled out of their sockets like yo-yos, searching for the location of the Flesh Ball.

After finding the Flesh Ball, the eyeballs followed the flesh-and-blood connections that looked like ”blood vessels” and returned to their sockets.

Once its eyes were fixed, the creature shifted its body, aligning its suction cup perfectly with the Flesh Ball.

”Puff!”

”Pop.”

Unidentified exhaust flames once again erupted from the creature’s tail. The powerful thrust drove the creature’s suction cup to press tightly against the surface of the Flesh Ball.

The shockwave formed by the impact radiated outward. Since there were no living things left in the vicinity, the shockwave didn’t cause any damage to the environment.

The suction cup gripped the surface of the Flesh Ball tightly, fixing the creature to it. From a distance, it looked as if the Flesh Ball had suddenly grown a ***.

After attaching itself to the surface of the Flesh Ball, the creature’s body began to contract.

Rather than calling it contraction, it would be more appropriate to say it was ”withering.”

When the creature had completely ”withered,” the Flesh Ball suddenly shuddered.

This shudder seemed to trigger a switch of some kind. The originally dead Flesh Ball actually began to ”breathe.”

Its mountain-like spherical body was contracting in a rhythmic manner. After each contraction, the Flesh Ball’s body would grow a size larger.

The charred skin on its surface—caused by the lightning strikes and the scorching flames—began to peel off. The newly grown skin tissue appeared crystal clear and translucent.

Once the charred skin had completely fallen off, the Flesh Ball’s growing size also stabilized.

The withered body of the previous creature and the charred outer shell that had fallen off were all swallowed by the Flesh Ball after its recovery.

Subsequently, countless insects once again surged out from within the Flesh Ball.

Some of these insects had tails burning with an inextinguishable flame; some had joints that would occasionally drip thick, corrosive liquid; some had crimson tails emitting high temperatures of several hundred degrees Celsius; and there were even insects with lightning flickering all over their bodies.

...

Lin Sheng was unaware of the situation back at the Flesh Ball.

After leaving the wasteland, he visited the ”Scorpion Ranch” he had set aside earlier.

However, for some reason, when Lin Sheng arrived at the ”Scorpion Ranch,” he discovered it was gone.

To be more precise, it wasn’t that the ”Scorpion Ranch” was gone, but the passage beneath it was gone.

The passage deep within the sand pit leading to the underground Energy Conversion Factory had collapsed at some point. Once the passage collapsed, the scorpions above lost their ”path to ascension.”

Therefore, when Lin Sheng arrived at the ”Scorpion Ranch” again, all he saw were a few low-level scorpions less than 500 meters long.

Due to the lack of nuclear energy replenishment, there was a severe gap in the scorpions’ sizes.

Aside from a few scorpions nearly 500 meters long, the rest were all ”shabby fish and rotten scorpions” less than 100 meters long.

After understanding the situation here, Lin Sheng didn’t plan to keep this ”Scorpion Ranch” anymore.

Since they had lost their chance to ”ascend,” these scorpions, who had no power to resist an ”Extraterrestrial Demon” like Lin Sheng, could only wait to be killed.

evolution points +...

With tens of millions of evolution points coming in, if this were 500 days ago, Lin Sheng would have been happy for quite a while.

But ever since he had taken a bite of the Blue Spirit God, Lin Sheng’s heart no longer wavered much when facing a few tens of millions of evolution points.
