Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

58: Chapter 58 Insect NestIn the days that followed, besides his daily hunting, Lin Sheng would occasionally head over to the Blue Spirit God’s domain to reap some benefits.

Following the system’s previous reminder, Lin Sheng had learned about the Blue Spirit God’s limitations.

Combining this with the Blue Spirit God’s reliance on the ”deep blue pedestal” during their previous battle, Lin Sheng felt that the Blue Spirit God was unable to stray too far from it.

And things went exactly as Lin Sheng expected; every time he left the sea area covered by the Blue Spirit God’s divine radiation, the deity would stop pursuing him.

However, even knowing this weakness, Lin Sheng only went to absorb the energy around the deity and didn’t push Him too hard.

After all, although Lin Sheng naturally countered the Blue Spirit God, if the deity truly went mad, Lin Sheng wouldn’t be able to keep reaping benefits.

Furthermore, Lin Sheng knew that behind the Blue Spirit God, there was an even bigger power standing there.

If the Blue Spirit God had a way to notify that greater power, Lin Sheng would have no choice but to find a way to wander the universe.

Unable to bear Lin Sheng’s frequent harassment and having no way to deal with him, the helpless Blue Spirit God had recently begun shrinking His territory.

Although divinity still blanketed this sea area, the energy emitted by the ”deep blue pedestal” was being hidden by Him.

Facing this situation, Lin Sheng didn’t have any good solutions.

While Lin Sheng countered the Blue Spirit God and could reap benefits in His territory, if it came down to a direct head-on confrontation, he really couldn’t defeat the Blue Spirit God while she was continuously buffed by the ”deep blue pedestal.”

Even without the buff from the ”deep blue pedestal,” if the Blue Spirit God wanted to kill Lin Sheng at all costs, Lin Sheng might not necessarily be able to escape.

Seeing that he could no longer squeeze any evolution points out of the Blue Spirit God’s side, Lin Sheng simply left the ocean.

Currently, as long as Lin Sheng didn’t provoke creatures on the level of that underground biological factory, he basically didn’t need to worry about his safety on Earth.

Therefore, Lin Sheng decided to travel around Earth and see sights he had never seen before.

For his first stop after leaving the ocean, Lin Sheng planned to go to that insect-filled wasteland he had encountered before entering the sea.

For no other reason than that Lin Sheng simply wanted to go back and get some revenge.

...

The Wasteland.

The Ground here was almost completely occupied by a dense, black Zerg Swarm.

In the very center of the wasteland, there was a giant crater.

The crater looked as if it had been smashed out by something, and the cracks formed by the impact around the crater were still faintly visible.

In the center of the crater sat a massive, meteorite-like spherical Flesh Ball.

The surrounding Zerg Swarm came and went, constantly stuffing prey they had captured from outside the wasteland into the Flesh Ball.

The Flesh Ball was like a giant piece of modeling clay; flesh could be stuffed into it from any point.

Whenever the flesh inside the Flesh Ball accumulated to a certain level, an insect would be ”spat out” by it.

This insect could be a giant Dragonfly, a Giant Millipede, or other strange, unidentified insects.

They possessed extremely strong adaptability from birth, quickly finding their place within the Zerg Swarm and rapidly entering production.

Lin Sheng observed from the Sky for a while, and once he discovered the process by which this Flesh Ball produced insects, he reached a conclusion about it.

This thing absolutely cannot be allowed to remain.

Setting aside its terrifying production capacity, Lin Sheng recalled how the Zerg Swarm’s attack patterns last time seemed controlled by a single consciousness; he was quite certain that this Flesh Ball possessed its own independent consciousness.

Furthermore, the intelligence of that consciousness was not low.

”Able to control the Zerg Swarm, possesses extremely high intelligence.”

Countless bolts of lightning, a hundred meters in diameter, instantly poured down from beneath Lin Sheng’s wings.

Influenced by certain novels from his past life, the Zerg had always been an image in Lin Sheng’s mind of something that ”must be completely exterminated upon sight.”

The devouring and reproductive capabilities of such creatures, once given an opportunity, could even become a disaster for the entire universe.

While acting to eliminate the insects on the Ground, Lin Sheng completely forgot that compared to the Zerg’s devouring ability, his own devouring ability was the true disaster for the universe.

Only taking in and never giving back; over time, even the Great Universe could not withstand his consumption.

...

”Rumble!”

Lightning like divine wrath struck the giant Flesh Ball; in an instant, several plumes of black smoke appeared where the lightning hit.

Faced with this sudden situation, the Flesh Ball didn’t react much, but the Zerg Swarm had already begun to move.

Hard-shelled insects surrounded the Flesh Ball in layer upon layer; some insects with long-range attack capabilities were spitting unidentified liquids at Lin Sheng, while flying units from afar were also quickly massing toward this location.

At this moment, the entire Zerg Swarm acted as if it had only one will, methodically performing the tasks of protecting the Flesh Ball and launching a counterattack against Lin Sheng.

Looking at the Zerg flying units with sickle-like forelimbs charging toward him, Lin Sheng gave a disdainful smile.

He, Lin Sheng, was no longer that low-level creature only two or three hundred meters long who could only flee when facing the Zerg Swarm.

Standing here now was the one whom even the Great Universe sought to suppress—the True God, Lin Sheng.

Just a group of insects only a few dozen meters in size; what did it matter how many there were?

Before the True God Lin Sheng, they could only obediently accept their deaths.

”Wahoo!”

”Mere insects, how dare you look upon a god?!”

Lin Sheng let out a roar toward the Sky, and powerful electromagnetic radiation spread outward from him as the center; the intense heat caused the bodies of the insects near him to instantly begin spontaneously combusting.

But even as their bodies burned, those insects on the Ground relied on their tenacious vitality to continue launching attacks at Lin Sheng.

Due to Lin Sheng’s flight altitude, these attacks could not cause any substantial damage to him.

As for the aerial units flying toward Lin Sheng, most of their wings were like a Dragonfly’s, consisting of only a thin layer; the moment their bodies ignited, they began to plummet in free fall.

After a moment of electromagnetic radiation, a massive number of flying insect corpses piled up on the Ground; not only that, but countless more were still falling from the Sky.

Lin Sheng kept a constant watch on every movement of the Flesh Ball below; at that moment, he suddenly noticed that the insects surrounding the Flesh Ball all abruptly left it.

The insects on the Ground also stopped attacking Lin Sheng.

Holding the corpses of their kin, they began to put the dead back into the Flesh Ball in a sort of relay fashion.

”Trying to recycle and remold them!”

Watching the Flesh Ball below devouring the insect corpses to breed new ones, Lin Sheng did not hesitate and launched another attack against it.
