Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

91: Chapter 91 The Sequence of TruthLin Sheng had been trying to chat with the system, but the system consistently gave him the cold shoulder.

After some time, Marshal Chang Xin returned.

Lin Sheng sensed that Marshal Chang Xin’s mood was somewhat foul. Just as he was pondering how to handle the ensuing developments, the Marshal did not attempt to probe his information again.

“Create the ’truth sequence’. This sequence shall be the primary experimental sequence for civilization test subjects.”

“Incorporate this test subject into the ’truth sequence’. Subject sequence number: ’0’.”

After returning to Lin Sheng’s side, Marshal Chang Xin used special means to relay orders to his subordinates.

Through ’Omniscience’, Lin Sheng completely read these orders issued by Marshal Chang Xin.

Although Lin Sheng had long anticipated that the Source of Information might discover his mastery over Truth,

he still felt a surge of nervousness now that the matter was being brought into the open.

What if the Source of Information wanted to study him in depth? Wouldn’t he be doomed then?

Given the time perception of a High-Level Civilization, Lin Sheng felt it wasn’t impossible for them to study him for several hundred million years.

However, Marshal Chang Xin’s next words dispelled his concerns.

“Once the sequence editing is complete, send ’Subject 0’ into the ’Twin-Star Experiment Field’. Observe only; no interference is required.”

“Understood.”

Upon receiving Marshal Chang Xin’s orders, the subordinates first used the Marshal’s authorization to write the ’truth sequence’ into the civilization’s information database.

Subsequently, they established the entry for organism ’0’ within the ’truth sequence’—which was Lin Sheng’s information.

However, while recording Lin Sheng’s source information, they encountered some unexpected issues.

“Marshal, there are three strands of information on Subject 0 that cannot be recorded.”

“Ignore them. There is no need to pay deliberate attention to Subject 0; simply record his location and basic information.”

Marshal Chang Xin transmitted this message with a solemn expression.

Once the subordinates finished their tasks, Marshal Chang Xin waved his hand.

Lin Sheng vanished from the Marshal’s office. A second later, he appeared in an unknown stretch of starry sky.

This region of space was exceptionally empty. Aside from some faint lights in the distant reaches, there was only a massive, nameless cube before him.

“Another cube.”

Seeing this cube again, which resembled a four-dimensional slice, Lin Sheng instinctively felt a sense of vigilance.

He guessed that this must be the ’Twin-Star Experiment Field’ Marshal Chang Xin had mentioned.

Lin Sheng had just heard the name ’Twin-Star Experiment Field’ from the Marshal.

He knew that by sending him here, Marshal Chang Xin definitely intended for him to enter this experiment field as a test subject.

Lin Sheng had already surmised this after the Marshal assigned him a number.

Currently, the situation was beyond his control; Lin Sheng could only temporarily accept these circumstances.

He had no choice but to accept it, especially after seeing the surroundings of the experiment field.

It was a desolate wasteland, practically a cosmic void.

Aside from the pinpricks of light from stars countless light-years away, Lin Sheng truly could find nothing else.

Although he had decided to enter the ’Twin-Star Experiment Field’, Lin Sheng didn’t rush in this time, having been burned by the previous four-dimensional slice.

He directly used ’Omniscience’ to check the status of the cube.

“Twin-Star Experiment Field. Constructed by the Source of Information civilization. Internal to external time flow ratio is 50,000:1.”

“As I thought.”

Lin Sheng examined the cube, focusing primarily on its corners.

Upon closer inspection, he discovered something unusual.

The corners of the cube looked as if they had ’outlines’, with each corner featuring a trim about 4 meters long.

Lin Sheng approached one of these trims and, without a word, took a direct bite out of it.

evolution points +10 billion.

Meanwhile, just a second after Marshal Chang Xin had sent Lin Sheng away, he received a message from the personnel monitoring the ’Twin-Star Experiment Field’.

“Marshal, the Information Stabilization Device of the Twin-Star Experiment Field has been destroyed by Subject 0.”

“The experiment field’s time information has begun to synchronize with the Great Universe. The primary planet of the experiment field is projected to undergo fusion into a star within 5,000 civilization years.”

“It’s just an insignificant experiment field. If it’s destroyed, so be it,”

Marshal Chang Xin replied indifferently.

“Cut off the energy supply to the Information Stabilization Devices and recover the remaining ones.”

...

“That shouldn’t be right? Why is the energy from a High-Level Civilization’s object so low?”

While 10 billion evolution points was a lot, if the item came from a High-Level Civilization like the Source of Information, 10 billion seemed very little.

Just as Lin Sheng was feeling puzzled, a piece of information suddenly surfaced in his mind.

“The Information Stabilization Device itself does not possess energy; its power is remotely transmitted by the Source of Information.”

Lin Sheng understood.

He turned to look at the other edges of the cube, intending to devour those ’Information Stabilization Devices’ as well.

But when his attention returned to the cube, he was shocked to find that the original cube had vanished at some point, leaving behind a binary star system.

This star system was somewhat similar to the Earth-Moon system in the Solar System. The only difference was that while Earth’s satellite was the Moon, the ’satellites’ of this giant terrestrial planet were two stars.

At the first sight of this binary star system, Lin Sheng recognized it.

Wasn’t this Eighteen’s home?

Back when he was digesting Eighteen’s memories, Lin Sheng had a major doubt in his mind.

He couldn’t understand why fusion reactions wouldn’t occur inside such a massive terrestrial planet.

Now he understood.

It turned out this planet wasn’t naturally occurring, but an experiment field created by the Source of Information.

For a High-Level Civilization like the Source of Information, making an ordinary terrestrial planet defy the laws of physics was quite easy.

...

Gazing down at the massive terrestrial planet below, Lin Sheng’s eyes gradually sharpened.

The memories Eighteen gave him also mentioned that there was a ’Planet Lord’ in its home world, who had nearly slaughtered Eighteen’s entire clan.

From Eighteen’s memories, Lin Sheng could feel that profound hatred.

Furthermore, Lin Sheng knew that this Planet Lord was the same fellow he had clashed with on the dark side of the Moon.

Eighteen also knew the Planet Lord frequently appeared on the dark side of the Moon. Combining that with the Planet Lord’s actions there, Eighteen had named him the ’Bone Stripper’.

The spatial distortion on the dark side of the Moon was actually a passage leading to this planet; Eighteen was well aware of this.

But because the ’Bone Stripper’ was too powerful, Eighteen was no match for him. Thus, even though it knew home was right there, it couldn’t return.

The reason Eighteen had warned Lin Sheng not to go to the dark side of the Moon was also because of this Bone Stripper.
