Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

55: Chapter 55 Talents of Balanced Level and AboveLin Sheng slowly backed away, but suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck his mind.

「Swallow a few more mouthfuls」

「Swallow a few mouthfuls before leaving」

This caused Lin Sheng’s retreating steps to come to a sudden halt.

Seeing Lin Sheng stop, the Blue Spirit God’s heart also tightened.

Fortunately, however, Lin Sheng did not launch an attack on Him.

He simply stayed in place, then greedily devoured the energy being emitted by the Blue Spirit God.

Though the Blue Spirit God was furious at this behavior, He did not directly take action.

He had been thoroughly intimidated by Lin Sheng’s performance just now.

From His birth until now, it was the first time He had seen such a terrifying lower organism.

But even though He felt a bit cowardly inside, He still had to maintain appearances.

If He did nothing, this lower organism might push His luck even further.

The golden light in the Blue Spirit God’s golden pupils flared up. He suddenly lunged His massive body forward, keeping a safe distance while glaring deathly at Lin Sheng.

The Blue Spirit God’s approach startled Lin Sheng, but once He was closer, the energy Lin Sheng could devour increased.

[Ding]

[Host has met the conditions for Evolution. Please evolve within ten local stellar days, otherwise the opportunity will be forfeited.]

Hearing the system’s notification, Lin Sheng knew it was time to leave.

He gazed into the Blue Spirit God’s pair of golden eyes and then backed away once more.

At the same time, the Blue Spirit God retracted His lunging body, transformed back into a mass of blue light, and dove back into the ”deep blue pedestal.”

Seeing the Blue Spirit God return to the pedestal, Lin Sheng also turned around and quickly left this sea area.

...

The ocean was vast, so vast that Lin Sheng could find a place to stay anywhere.

After leaving the Blue Spirit God’s territory, Lin Sheng did not choose to return to land; instead, he continued to stay in the deep sea.

This battle with the Blue Spirit God made Lin Sheng realize that the deep sea was a treasure trove.

As long as one had enough courage and strength, the evolution points in the treasure trove were Lin Sheng’s for the taking.

Lin Sheng lay on a reef in the sea and began to deal with the ”chaotic information” that had grown wildly during the previous battle.

After dealing with these Tentacles, Lin Sheng took stock of his gains from this trip.

This incident happened suddenly. Although it was dangerous at the beginning, overall, the battle with the Blue Spirit God wasn’t too high-risk.

If the Blue Spirit God had used a massive humanoid body to engage in melee combat from the start, Lin Sheng really wouldn’t have been able to win.

But for some reason, the body He initially condensed was roughly the same size as Lin Sheng, which gave Lin Sheng an opening.

A single thrilling battle had not only netted Lin Sheng hundreds of millions of evolution points but had even gifted him a talent that looked very high-level.

Previously, when he reached the point of being able to evolve after devouring something, the system gave a one-day window before the opportunity expired, but this time was different—it gave a full ten days.

“System, check my data panel.”

[Ding]

「Host: Lin Sheng

Body Length: 501 meters

evolution points: 630 million

Talents:

Immortal Consciousness (Truth Level)

Omniscience (Pseudo) (Truth Level)

Devour (Concept Level)

Evolution (Concept Level)

Immaculate Body (Balance Grade)

...

Description: Putting aside your size, you are already a qualified Starry Sky Behemoth. With your abilities, you are an absolute natural disaster for a Level 1 civilization.」

The battle with the Blue Spirit God directly allowed Lin Sheng’s Immaculate Body to reach completion.

Now, he could fully adapt to the environment of space and easily navigate through the universe.

“System, when I evolve, can I directly use evolution points to increase my talent level?”

As Lin Sheng’s body reached five hundred meters, he suddenly felt that for his current self, size didn’t seem that important anymore.

With so many abnormal talents, even against a creature over a thousand meters long, Lin Sheng was confident he could rely on these talents to kill it.

Now, instead of using evolution points to increase body size, it would be better to use them to upgrade his talents.

Of course, the prerequisite was that evolution points could actually upgrade talents, or that Lin Sheng could afford the cost.

[Ding]

[All talents below the Balance Grade can be upgraded using evolution points.]

The system gave a direct answer, but Lin Sheng was somewhat puzzled.

Since talents that could be upgraded with evolution points could only be below the Balance Grade, what about those above the Balance Grade?

[Ding]

[Talents above the Balance Grade cannot be obtained through specific gacha draws or designated talent point acquisitions.]

“Why are there no specific gacha draws for those above the Balance Grade? How do I get talents above the Balance Grade? System, can you explain this to me?”

After hearing the system’s words, many questions inevitably rose in Lin Sheng’s mind.

[Ding]

[Levels above the Balance Grade already involve the Patterns of the universe, and cannot be measured by the quantity of evolution points.]

[As for the methods to obtain talents above the Balance Grade, the Host can obtain them through random gacha draws, devouring, or through Ordinary Evolution to a certain extent.]

Hearing the system’s explanation, Lin Sheng somehow suddenly thought of that biological energy factory in the desert.

That factory was a standard Rule-level factory, and the ”Three-Dimensional Volume Conservation” rule inside was the best illustration of what the system just said.

If this rule were improved, it would be ”Pseudo-Infinite Energy.”

If such rules could really be directly evolved using evolution points, then what would be the point of evolution points after that?

Having figured this out, Lin Sheng stopped obsessing over talents above the Balance Grade.

In any case, once he achieved freedom with evolution points, he could completely use ”random gacha draws” to stack himself with top-tier talents.

“System, how many evolution points are required to evolve ‘Stellar Energy’ to the Balance Grade?”

[Ding]

[Requires 645.1 billion evolution points.]

Lin Sheng: ?

“Isn’t a Balance Grade gacha draw only 100 million evolution points? Why does evolving a talent cost so many evolution points?”

[Ding]

[The span of Balance Grade talents is very large, and the functions different talents can perform are also not the same.]

Lin Sheng understood; it was because the ”Stellar Energy” talent was considered one of the better ones within the Balance Grade, which was why it required so many evolution points.

“What about ‘Semiconductor’?”

“How many evolution points are needed to evolve this talent to the Balance Grade?”

Lin Sheng hadn’t used this talent since he got it.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to use it; as a Natural Grade talent, it should have some use.

But the problem was, this was a physical talent, and Lin Sheng had no idea how to use it.

Now, asking the system to evolve this talent was just to see how useless it was by checking the number of evolution points required.

[Ding]

[Requires 13.4 trillion evolution points.]
