Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Zhao Rong smacked the spicy snack onto the assistant’s face, a miraculous scene suddenly unfolded.

The Hanged Ghost assistant, who moments ago had been utterly bloodthirsty, ferocious, and malicious, abandoned his assault the instant he saw the snack. He squatted down, picked it up, tore the package open, and began to feast on it with great relish.

When the three women saw that the assistant, even as a ghost, couldn’t overcome his inherent love for spicy snacks, their eyes widened in utter amazement.

Miss Lili exclaimed, ”Who would have thought a single pack of spicy snacks could take care of the assistant...”

Yu Lan joked, ”If we’d known a pack of spicy snacks could handle evil spirits, we could just throw them at any ghost we meet from now on. We wouldn’t need Peach Wood Swords anymore.”

Xuelian added with a laugh, ”It seems even the most formidable Taoist is less effective than a pack of spicy snacks.”

Just as everyone was reeling from the shock, the assistant suddenly collapsed, foaming at the mouth. His eyes rolled back into his head, and he showed no signs of life.

Seeing this, the three women immediately concluded, ”Oh no, the assistant must be dead!”

Zhao Rong stepped forward and checked the assistant for breath. He nodded and said, ”It seems I’ll have to refine a Resurrection Elixir to bring him back to life.”

Hearing the words ”Resurrection Elixir,” a curious Miss Lili asked, ”Zhao Rong, what’s a Resurrection Elixir?”

As Zhao Rong began to take scorpion venom, Divine Grass, and Forgetfulness Grass from his Magic Ring, he explained to her, ”A Resurrection Elixir, as the name implies, can immediately bring a person back to life after they’ve died, provided they consume it.”

Yu Lan curiously asked how the medicine was made. ”Zhao Rong, how do you refine the Resurrection Elixir?”

Taking a pressure cooker from his Magic Ring, Zhao Rong tossed in the Divine Grass, venom, and Forgetfulness Grass. ”It’s quite easy to make,” he told Yu Lan. ”Just toss these ingredients into the pressure cooker, roast them with a persistent fire, and before long, the Resurrection Elixir will be ready.”

Before he could finish his sentence, he had already ignited his persistent fire and begun the refinement process.

Xuelian stood by, watching Zhao Rong work, and asked curiously, ”Zhao Rong, can the Elixir you’re making really bring the assistant back to life? After all, he’s already dead. He has no heartbeat or breath, and his brain has died from lack of oxygen...”

Hearing her words, Zhao Rong immediately reassured her, ”Xuelian, rest assured. Just watch how I use this Elixir to revive the assistant.”

An hour later, the miraculous Elixir was successfully refined.

When the three women saw the black pill resting in Zhao Rong’s palm, they said in awe, ”Zhao Rong, is this the legendary Resurrection Elixir?”

Zhao Rong smiled. ”Of course. Otherwise, all the effort I just put in would have been for nothing.”

Miss Lili stepped forward and took the black elixir from his hand. She sniffed it and, noticing a sour smell, remarked, ”Zhao Rong, this elixir smells like disinfectant. It’s quite strong. I don’t know if it’ll have any effect after the assistant takes it...”

Yu Lan took the elixir from Miss Lili and fed it to the assistant. ”Assistant, once you take this elixir, you need to come back to life quickly. Otherwise, our team will be short one member.”

Xuelian stood beside them, watching the assistant who had just consumed the elixir with a heart full of uncertainty. Could the elixir Zhao Rong spent an hour refining really turn a dead man back into a living one? This is too magical, too far beyond technology... it feels like something out of the future...

However, before Xuelian could even finish her thought, the assistant’s eyes shot open. His eyes rolled in their sockets as he spoke. ”What just happened? I feel like everything went black, and then suddenly, I knew nothing... But when I opened my eyes, you three beautiful ladies were standing right beside me. And... why does it feel like I’ve eaten a fly? There’s a sour taste in my mouth...”

When the three women saw that the assistant had truly come back to life, they hugged each other joyfully. ”We can’t believe it!” they exclaimed. ”The elixir Zhao Rong made is so powerful! It revived the assistant in no time!”

Miss Lili helped the assistant up from the ground, saying, ”Assistant, you don’t know what happened. When you went to the supermarket, you were ambushed by a group of evil spirits. They captured you, hung you on the wall, and you died. So you’ve already died once today.”

When the assistant heard that he had actually died, he said incredulously, ”Miss Lili, you’ve got to be kidding me, right? I’m clearly alive and well. How could I possibly have died? And even if I did die, how could I be alive again right now? That’s just absurd.”

Yu Lan stepped forward, pulled out her phone, and showed him a video she had just recorded. ”Assistant, don’t dismiss what just happened. Look at this video on my phone. You’ll see that after you became a Hanged Ghost, you took advantage of Zhao Rong being distracted and attacked his neck. Zhao Rong didn’t go easy on you. After he kicked you away, he immediately refined the elixir that brought you back from the dead and saved you. Now, not only are you ungrateful, but you’re also mocking us. You really deserve a beating.”

When the assistant saw the video on Yu Lan’s phone, he was utterly astonished. ”I can’t believe I really died... That’s terrifying. But thankfully, Zhao Rong, with his benevolent heart and masterful skill, gave me a second chance at life.”

Xuelian smiled at the assistant. ”Assistant, since Zhao Rong saved you, how are you going to repay him?”

Hearing her words, the assistant thought for a moment, then promptly downloaded a movie onto his phone. He turned on his Bluetooth and said to Zhao Rong, ”Zhao Rong, to repay you for saving my life, I’ve just downloaded a movie from the Island Country. I’m sending it to your phone via Bluetooth right now so you can enjoy just how awesome this movie is.”

Before Zhao Rong could respond, the assistant had already used his high-tech features to transfer the movie to Zhao Rong’s device.
