Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

As Zhao Rong picked up the package from the ground and was about to open it, Lili speculated, ”Brother Zhao Rong must have bought a Laser Cannon. With one shot, he could blow all 100 of these zombies to smithereens...”

Yu Lan shook her head. She was certain Zhao Rong hadn’t bought a Laser Cannon, as they were far too expensive. Racking her brain, she guessed, ”Since Brother Zhao Rong is such a good shot, he must have bought a cost-effective shotgun to deal with these 100-plus zombies...”

When Xuelian heard Yu Lan suggest a shotgun, she disagreed. ”I think Brother Zhao Rong definitely bought a rocket launcher. A shotgun just wouldn’t be enough for him...”

The assistant stepped forward, rejecting all three of their guesses. ”Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, you’re all wrong,” he said, offering his own theory. ”I think Brother Zhao Rong bought a small crossbow, specifically a repeating Zhuge Crossbow...”

Just as everyone was guessing what weapon Zhao Rong had bought, he suddenly opened the package and took out a potted plant.

When the assistant and the three women saw that the mysterious weapon Zhao Rong had bought from the Paradise Shopping Cart to fight zombies was actually a potted plant, they were so shocked they stumbled and fell to the ground.

Lili stared at the plant, frowning. ”Brother Zhao Rong,” she said in disbelief, ”I thought you had bought some top-secret weapon to deal with these zombies. But why did you buy a ’shameless plant’? How is something like that supposed to handle these ferocious creatures?”

Zhao Rong held the plant, aimed it at the approaching zombies, and smiled at Lili. ”You don’t get it, Lili. Just wait. I’ll show you how I’m going to use this plant to wipe out these 100-plus zombies.”

Yu Lan remained skeptical. Frowning, she couldn’t accept the situation. ”Brother Zhao Rong, is there a time bomb hidden in the soil? Do you plan to put the pot down, lure the zombies over, and then press a button to blow them all up?”

Zhao Rong shook his head and replied with a smile, ”Using a time bomb to deal with this mob of zombies? Isn’t that a bit lame?”

Xuelian’s imagination ran wild. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I don’t think this is any ordinary plant... It must be the kind that can open a giant mouth and eat zombies!”

”Xuelian, you’re halfway there,” Zhao Rong told her. ”But you missed the other half. Let’s see if the assistant can guess it...”

Before Zhao Rong could finish, the assistant stepped forward. He looked at the plant and, laughing, said to everyone, ”I’ve been racking my brain, and I finally get it. This is basically the legendary *Plants vs. Zombies*, isn’t it?”

At the assistant’s words, the three women had an epiphany. They took out their phones, launched the game *Plants vs. Zombies*, and said to Zhao Rong as they played, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you really think outside the box! So you actually bought a plant that can fight zombies...”

When the zombies saw Zhao Rong planning to use a single potted plant against them, they roared with laughter. ”Bro, have you played so much *Plants vs. Zombies* your brain is fried? You’re daydreaming if you think you can take us on with one lousy plant! We’re going to charge over, tear you to shreds, and then smash that pot to show you what we’re made of!”

With that, the horde of over 100 zombies charged madly toward Zhao Rong.

Just as they closed in, Zhao Rong gently caressed the plant and said with a smile, ”*Plants vs. Zombies*... begin!”

At Zhao Rong’s command, the plant began to replicate, mutating and growing at an incredible speed. In an instant, the single small pot had cloned itself into 100 massive plants. Facing the incoming zombies, they fired a constant volley of projectiles and taunted, ”In *Plants vs. Zombies*, the plants are always the strongest! You zombies are just cannon fodder!”

As Zhao Rong, his assistant, and the three women watched a real-life version of *Plants vs. Zombies* unfold, their eyes widened in amazement. ”We used to play this game all the time,” they said in awe, ”but we never imagined a real-life version existed. This is incredible!”

Lili played the game on her phone while enjoying the live spectacle, feeling an incredible thrill. ”I used to think *Plants vs. Zombies* was just okay when I played it on my phone,” she said. ”But watching it for real while playing at the same time... this game is absolutely epic! What a rush!”

Yu Lan immediately took out her phone, opened Douyu Live, and began broadcasting. ”Come on in, folks! Light up those hearts and join my stream for a live look at a real *Plants vs. Zombies*! You think it’s awesome now? It’s only going to get better!”

Xuelian, meanwhile, was busy recording short videos to upload to Douyin. She laughed and said, ”If I post these clips of a real-life *Plants vs. Zombies*, my follower count will skyrocket! Once I pass ten million followers, I can start making money from streaming!”

Unlike the three women, the assistant rushed forward and joined the fray. He took a position beside the plants, grabbing various plant projectiles and hurling them at the zombies. ”Playing on a phone is nothing,” he shouted with a laugh. ”I’d much rather be right here in the middle of the fight, using these plant projectiles to take on the zombies myself!”

Zhao Rong found a rock to sit on. He took out his phone and started watching Takeuchi Ryo’s *The Reason I Live Here* while also enjoying the real-life battle. He chuckled and said, ”Watching a show on my phone while a real-life *Plants vs. Zombies* plays out beside me... now this is interesting.”

In less than ten minutes, the plants had annihilated all the zombies.

Just as Zhao Rong’s plants finished wiping out the horde of over 100 zombies that had been plaguing the area, he spotted a helicopter descending from the sky.

After it landed, the mayor walked straight toward Zhao Rong. Gripping his hand, the mayor praised him, ”Young hero, you are truly amazing! We’ve been helpless against these zombies for so long, but today, you eliminated them with such ease. You have truly rid us of a great menace!”
