Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Before Zhao Rong could answer the three women’s questions, Black and White Impermanence strode toward them, whispering to each other as they walked.

”What in the world is going on today? So many young people have died all of a sudden,” one said. ”Look over there. Those three beauties and that handsome guy... must be more young people who just died.”

Before Black and White Impermanence could finish, Zhao Rong smiled and cut in. ”Sirs, don’t misunderstand. We’re not dead; we’re very much alive. We’ve traveled to the underworld to rescue a companion, and then we’re leaving.”

When Black and White Impermanence heard the people before them claim to be alive, they roared with laughter. ”Damn it! We’ve been Black and White Impermanence for years, and our job is to reap the souls of the dead. This is the underworld, you’d better get that straight! Everyone who comes here is dead. Living people simply cannot enter this place!”

With that, they moved to capture Zhao Rong and his group. They planned to haul them before King Yanluo for judgment, where they would be subjected to the tortures of the mountain of knives and the sea of fire.

But before they could reach them, Zhao Rong began opening his package. ”I’m warning you two, don’t come any closer!” he warned. ”Otherwise, this Ghost-Beating Stick in my bag won’t be so polite.”

As he spoke, he opened the package and took out the Ghost-Beating Stick he had purchased from the Paradise Shopping Cart.

When the three women saw Zhao Rong holding what looked like an ordinary rolling pin, they stared, completely flabbergasted. ”Zhao Rong, are you joking?” one of them asked in disbelief. ”That’s clearly a rolling pin in your hand, yet you insist on calling it a Ghost-Beating Stick. That’s just... unbelievable.”

Lili reached out and touched the ”stick.” Frowning, she said, ”Zhao Rong, this rolling pin... it looks like you just used it to make dumpling wrappers. It’s still got flour and bits of dough on it.”

Yu Lan glanced from the rolling pin to Black and White Impermanence, her expression hopeless. ”Zhao Rong,” she said, ”if you’d brought a knife or a sword, maybe you’d stand a chance against them. But a rolling pin that’s not even a meter long? Are you trying to be funny?”

Xuelian was equally skeptical. ”Zhao Rong, using a rolling pin against Black and White Impermanence is completely futile, like a mantis trying to stop a chariot!”

Hearing the three women mistake his famous Ghost-Beating Stick for a simple rolling pin, Zhao Rong quickly explained, ”Ladies, you’ve got it all wrong. This isn’t a rolling pin; it’s a genuine Ghost-Beating Stick! It cost me a fortune from the Paradise Shopping Cart and is a weapon specially designed to deal with all the different ghosts in the underworld. If you don’t believe me, just watch. I’ll use it to take care of these two right now.”

With that, Zhao Rong pointed the Ghost-Beating Stick at Black and White Impermanence. ”Sirs, since you insist on trying to capture us, don’t blame me for what happens next!”

When Black and White Impermanence heard this human threatening them with a rolling pin, they looked at him with utter contempt. ”A dead man threatening us—Black and White Impermanence—in our own territory?” one of them sneered. ”We are the big shots on this turf. Every soul that comes from the world of the living to the underworld grovels before us. They’re polite, they try to flatter us, bribe us, and suck up to us!

”But you? You don’t flatter us, you don’t speak respectfully, and you don’t bow your head. Fine. But to actually threaten us with a wooden stick?

”Now, we brothers are going to kill you, and we’ll make sure you can never be reborn—never reincarnate for all eternity!”

As he finished speaking, White Impermanence charged, swinging his own club at Zhao Rong. Seeing that his opponent was also armed with a club, Zhao Rong didn’t hesitate. He hurled his Ghost-Beating Stick at the charging White Impermanence, shouting, ”White Impermanence, take this!”

The moment the stick hit him, White Impermanence was knocked to the ground. He spat out a mouthful of blood and snarled, ”Damn it! I didn’t expect a brat like you to have a few tricks up your sleeve...”

Seeing his brother felled by the human, Black Impermanence flew into a rage. He charged forward, raised his club high, and smashed it down toward Zhao Rong’s head. Facing the descending weapon, Zhao Rong swiftly raised his Ghost-Beating Stick to block.

CLANG!

A deafening sound erupted as the two weapons collided. After the noise faded, Black Impermanence’s club was in pieces.

Staring at his shattered weapon, he said in utter shock, ”Impossible! In all my life, I’ve never met a human who could break my club. This can’t be happening!”

Before he could finish, Zhao Rong swung his Ghost-Beating Stick again, slamming it into Black Impermanence’s waist. ”I didn’t want to hurt you,” Zhao Rong said coolly. ”You forced my hand.”

The blow sent Black Impermanence sprawling to the ground. Clutching his side in agony, he hissed, ”I can’t believe it. A dead human causing such chaos on our turf? Fine! We’ll let you go for now. But just wait until our brothers, Oxhead and Horseface, get here. They’ll definitely take care of you!”

Seeing that he had taken down the arrogant Black and White Impermanence with just two strikes, Zhao Rong led the three women onward. ”Alright, they’re dealt with. Let’s keep moving. I think my assistant must be in King Yanluo’s palace up ahead, probably being judged as we speak.”

When the three women saw how Zhao Rong had defeated the most fearsome enforcers in the underworld with a mere rolling pin, they stared at him with pure admiration. ”Zhao Rong, you’re on another level!” one exclaimed in disbelief. ”You cut down anyone who gets in your way, human or ghost. You’re unstoppable!”
