Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Seeing the anxious looks on the three women’s faces, Zhao Rong came up with a great idea. ”If we’re going to rescue our assistant from the eighteen layers of hell, we must find some kind of machine that can get us inside,” he said.

As he spoke, Zhao Rong took out his phone, opened the Paradise Shopping Cart app, and began searching for some high-tech gadget that could access the eighteen layers of hell. ”Right now, I’m going to buy a piece of high-tech from the Paradise Shopping Cart to help us get into hell and rescue our assistant.”

When the three women heard that Zhao Rong was going to buy some strange new gadget to get them into hell, Lili was the first to offer a suggestion. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I think you should buy a time machine to transport us there. That would be a bit safer.”

Yu Lan then chimed in, ”Brother Zhao Rong, I think it would be best to buy a ghost sports car. Once we’re inside, we could drive straight into the eighteen layers of hell. Then, after we find our assistant, he can just hop in, and we can drive right back out of hell and return to the real world. That would be the best way.”

Xuelian, ever the imaginative one, had a flash of inspiration. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I think you should buy a transport cannon! It could shoot us directly into the eighteen layers of hell like cannonballs.”

However, before the women could finish, Zhao Rong pointed to a package that had just fallen from the sky. ”Look,” he said to them, ”I’ve already bought the Hell Elevator.”

When they heard the words ”Hell Elevator,” they were completely astonished. ”Brother Zhao Rong, what’s a Hell Elevator? Does that mean as soon as we get on, we’ll go directly from the mortal world to the underworld, reach the eighteen layers of hell, and see King Yanluo, Black and White Impermanence, and Oxhead and Horseface?”

Zhao Rong opened the package as he explained, ”Exactly, you guessed right. The so-called Hell Elevator will transport us from the mortal world down to the eighteen layers of hell the moment we step inside. Then, once we’ve finished our business and found our assistant, we can ride the Hell Elevator from the underworld back to the world of the living.”

Hearing that such a miraculous, sci-fi elevator actually existed, the three women were so dumbfounded they could hardly believe it. ”Holy cow, I’ve only ever heard of Mitsubishi elevators from Japan, big-name elevators from Shanghai, and all sorts of normal ones. I’ve never heard of a Hell Elevator that goes directly from the realm of the living to the realm of the dead. This is completely mind-blowing.”

Just then, Zhao Rong finished opening the package and pulled out a portable ladder.

When the three women saw the incredibly simple, silver-white ladder in his hands, they couldn’t believe their eyes. That this crude, almost pathetically basic ladder was the so-called high-tech gadget, the Hell Elevator.

Lili stepped forward and touched the simple ladder Zhao Rong was holding. She frowned and said doubtfully, ”Brother Zhao Rong, are you sure this flimsy ladder isn’t a cheap, single-use item you bought from the Bargain Bin app? The kind you’d use for building a brick house?”

Zhao Rong held the ladder and began setting it up on the ground. ”Lili, don’t underestimate this ladder,” he said. ”It’s quite magical. Once I have it set up, just watch how I use it to transport us into hell.”

Yu Lan stepped forward, looking from the simple ladder to the image of a sophisticated, high-tech elevator in her mind. She questioned him, ”Brother Zhao Rong, didn’t you say you bought a Hell Elevator? That should be electric, with doors that open and close, something that moves up and down automatically. But this thing you bought... this very simple ladder isn’t an elevator at all, is it?”

After securing the Hell Elevator, Zhao Rong smiled and explained to Yu Lan, ”Yu Lan, you shouldn’t underestimate this simple-looking ladder. It really can be electric and have closing doors, just like an elevator.”

Listening to Zhao Rong, Xuelian stepped forward and snapped a photo of the ladder with her phone. She did a quick search online and said, ”This kind of ladder sells for only ten yuan on the Bargain Bin app. Brother Zhao Rong, are you really planning to use such a cheesy gadget to take us from the human world into the underworld, into the eighteen layers of hell, to rescue our assistant?”

Just as the three women were voicing their skepticism about the incredibly basic ladder Zhao Rong had bought from the Paradise Shopping Cart, he pulled out his phone again and downloaded a ”Hell Elevator” mobile app. After opening the app, Zhao Rong began operating the ladder with his phone. ”Watch closely,” he said to the three women. ”I’m now going to control this Hell Elevator with the mobile app.”

When the three women heard that this incredibly crude ladder could be remotely controlled by a smartphone app, they were simply flabbergasted.

Hoping to see Zhao Rong make a fool of himself, Lili said, ”I’d like to see just how you’re going to command this simple ladder to transform with a phone app.”

Yu Lan also couldn’t fathom how this basic ladder could possibly turn into a real elevator, the kind you’d find in a modern skyscraper. She said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, I’m extremely curious now. How is this rudimentary ladder going to take us into hell, one by one?”

Xuelian added jokingly, ”Brother Zhao Rong, don’t tell me this ladder you bought is a Transformer, is it? Can it instantly turn into a superhero and fly us to hell faster than the speed of light?”

Before the women could even finish their sentences, Zhao Rong used the mobile app to begin the simple ladder’s transformation. The moment he pressed the button on his screen, the crude ladder in front of them instantly reconfigured itself into a small wooden house.

When the three women saw that the plain, silver-white, flimsy-looking ladder had turned into a small wooden house, they were once again left speechless.

Lili walked into the house, observing it closely. ”Could this be the legendary Uncle Tom’s Cabin?”

As Yu Lan stepped inside the small wooden structure, she remarked with great interest, ”Could this be the legendary Cold Dwellings? Where Xue Baochai waited for Xue Rengui for twenty years, eating wild vegetables every day just to survive?”
