Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When the assistant heard that Zhao Rong was unwilling to leave the space, he became dejected. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you want to fight to the death here, but the rest of us don’t want to die with you!” he said desperately. ”Hurry up and take out the Space Shuttle Device so the three beauties and I can leave this dangerous place. We’ll wait for you somewhere safe. You can just stay here and fight this space on your own.”

Having said this, the assistant turned to rally the three women. ”Miss Lili, the beautiful Yu Lan, the beautiful Xuelian, I’m sure you all feel the same way I do. You don’t want to stay here and die, right? Since that’s the case, follow me. We’ll use the Space Shuttle Device to leave and reach a safe space. We can wait there and leave Brother Zhao Rong to fight alone.”

The three beauties will definitely agree with me, the assistant thought, snickering to himself. They’ll probably raise both hands in support.

However, before he could finish his smug thought, Lili stepped forward and slapped him across the face. Pointing at his nose, she scolded, ”You cowardly, gutless disgrace! You have no sense of team spirit! If you want to leave, then go. The three of us will stay here to live or die with Brother Zhao Rong.”

Hearing Lili’s words, the assistant turned his gaze to Yu Lan and Xuelian.

Even if Miss Lili doesn’t want to go to a safe space and save her own life, surely Yu Lan and Xuelian will agree with me, he thought. They’ll be willing to come with me, leave Brother Zhao Rong behind, and wait in safety.

But before he could finish his thought, Yu Lan rushed over with a flying kick that sent him sprawling. ”You pretentious poser!” she cursed. ”You’re only around for the good times, never the bad! Brother Zhao Rong is in danger, and your first thought is to abandon him to save yourself? You’re an animal! If you want to run for your life, then get out of here! The three of us will stay and die with Brother Zhao Rong.”

Knocked to the ground, the assistant scrambled back up and stubbornly said, ”So what if Lili and Yu Lan disagree? Xuelian will definitely agree with me! I refuse to believe all three of you are prepared to stay here and die with Brother Zhao Rong.”

But before he could finish speaking, Xuelian snatched a loose brick from the ground and smashed it over his head. He crumpled to the floor, knocked unconscious. ”If you’re so afraid to die, then just leave!” she had shouted. ”We don’t seek to be born on the same day, in the same month and year as Brother Zhao Rong, but we vow to die with him on the same day, in the same month and year!”

After being knocked out by the brick, it took the assistant a long moment to come to. He slowly got up, rubbing the back of his head. ”Fine! Since none of you are willing to go with me to a safe space and wait for Brother Zhao Rong,” he said, utterly humiliated, ”then I might as well stay here and fight alongside you all...”

But before he could finish, the three women charged and gave him another brutal beating. Then they turned to Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, take out the Space Shuttle Device now! Send this coward away from this dangerous space. Let him wait on Earth where it’s safe. Our team has no place for a selfish traitor who only thinks of himself, disregards the lives of others, and is too afraid to face death with his comrades!”

Hearing their demand, Zhao Rong was initially reluctant. But, seeing he had no other choice, he brought out the Space Shuttle Device and handed it to the women. ”Alright, here it is. You can send him away to wait in a safe space. But be careful when you operate it. Whatever you do, don’t accidentally send him to hell... This device can connect directly to the eighteen levels of hell.”

However, before Zhao Rong could finish his warning, the three women had already activated the device, and the assistant vanished from the dangerous space.

The assistant’s vision went black, and he found himself hurtling through a tunnel of light at impossible speeds.

Since those three harpies wouldn’t let me die there, I might as well go back to Earth and enjoy myself, he thought. When I get back, first thing’s first: KFC and a large Coke. Then, I’ll hit up one of those seedy salons in the urban villages for a good time. Day two, I’ll go to a bathhouse. Day three, a Wenzhou hair salon. Day four, a dark dance hall...

The thought made him cackle with glee, but before the laughter died in his throat, he suddenly arrived in a place devoid of all light.

He looked around, bewildered. ”Is it still nighttime on Earth?” he mumbled. ”Why else would it be so pitch-black?”

As he pondered this, two figures approached. They were bizarre to behold, with the bodies of men but the heads of animals.

When the assistant saw the figures of Oxhead and Horseface, he laughed. ”What are you two kids doing wearing masks in the middle of the night to scare people?” he said with curiosity. ”Come here, let Uncle take those off for you. You shouldn’t be frightening people like this.”

With that, he rushed forward, grabbed their faces, and began to pull with all his might. But after yanking for some time, he realized he was tugging on real flesh, not masks.

The assistant gasped. ”Excuse me, who... who are you?” he asked in utter shock. ”Why do you have human bodies, but one has the head of an ox and the other the face of a horse?”

Before he could finish, Oxhead and Horseface exchanged a look, seized him, and shackled him in iron chains. ”Your time in the mortal world is over,” one of them said with a dry laugh. ”And for the countless evils you committed in life, you’ve been cast into the eighteen levels of hell.”

The assistant swallowed hard. ”Stop fooling around, will you?” he pleaded. ”Just tell me, who are you and where is this place?”

Before he could finish, Oxhead and Horseface were already dragging him before a terrifying throne. With a chilling smile, one of them said, ”Oh, right. We forgot to introduce ourselves, human. We are Oxhead and Horseface, bailiffs of the underworld. As for where this is... this is the eighteenth level of hell. You are about to face the judgment of King Yanluo, who will decide whether to send you up the Mountain of Knives or down into the Sea of Fire.”
