Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Zhao Rong got out of the car and looked at the man whose face was covered in blood. ”Sir, what happened to you? Do you need help?”

Before Zhao Rong could finish, the man glared fiercely at him and snarled, ”You have the nerve to ask me what happened? Let me tell you what happened! When you drove through the Qinling Tunnel just now, you crashed right into me and smashed my head open. What’s more, instead of helping, you just fled the scene!”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong looked bewildered. ”That’s impossible,” he retorted. ”I’m sure I hit a pig in the Qinling Tunnel. How could it have been you? Even if it was, we’ve driven quite a distance since then. How did you manage to catch up? You even got ahead of us.”

At that moment, the assistant got out of the car, pointed at the bloodied man, and said to Zhao Rong, ”Brother Zhao Rong, let’s not bother with this guy. One look at him and you can tell he’s bad news.”

The three women in the car rolled down their windows and called out, ”Zhao Rong, get back in the car! Let’s get going!”

Lili said, ”Zhao Rong, stop wasting your time with that blood-soaked man. It’s only going to delay us.”

Yu Lan added, ”Zhao Rong, that man has such a brutish face. Besides, the blood on his head is clearly just red ink. This poser couldn’t even make his act look realistic. It’s so fake, it’s obvious he’s up to no good.”

Xuelian then warned, ”Zhao Rong, you have to be careful. A man with a bloodied head suddenly appearing in the middle of nowhere... Be wary, he might be a magical beast in disguise.”

However, before the three women could finish speaking, the man before them revealed his true nature. He lunged toward Zhao Rong, roaring, ”If you want to pass this zombie road, first, you’ll have to leave your lives behind!”

As the bloodied man lunged, Zhao Rong sidestepped with a swift motion, easily dodging the attack. He followed up with a flying kick that sent the man sprawling to the ground. ”You zombie,” Zhao Rong said coolly. ”After all that acting, you’ve finally shown your true colors.”

When the assistant standing nearby heard Zhao Rong say the man was a zombie, he was so terrified that he scrambled back into the car. ”Zhao Rong, why didn’t you say so sooner?” he stammered, horrified. ”If you’d told me he was a zombie, I never would have risked getting out! I’ve been bitten by one before, and I know how awful the pain is.”

Inside the car, the three women were speechless with shock when they heard the bloodied man was a zombie. ”Zhao Rong, this is bizarre,” one of them said in disbelief. ”How could there be a zombie on the highway?”

Hearing them, Zhao Rong pointed to the ditches lining the road. ”It’s not just one zombie on this stretch of highway,” he announced. ”It’s a whole horde of them.”

Before he had even finished his sentence, more than a hundred zombies began to climb out of the nearby ditches. All of them were covered in blood, their faces contorted in terrifying masks as they lurched toward Zhao Rong’s group.

When the assistant and the three women saw the horde of over a hundred zombies shuffling toward them, they screamed. ”Zhao Rong, get in the car, quickly! If that many zombies rush you, they’ll tear you to pieces!”

The bloodied man who had been on the ground staggered to his feet and pointed a finger at Zhao Rong, commanding the approaching horde, ”Get him! Whoever tears this man to shreds, I’ll help them become the zombie king!”

With that, he sneered at Zhao Rong and his companions. ”This stretch of highway is our territory now. It’s your bad luck you drove here. I’m going to turn every last one of you into a zombie!”

From inside the car, the assistant asked in utter amazement, ”Zhao Rong, did we take a wrong turn? How can there be so many zombies on this highway?”

”We didn’t take a wrong turn,” Zhao Rong explained. ”A horde of vicious zombies has appeared on this highway recently, causing all kinds of trouble. We just happened to be passing through today. In that case, we might as well serve some justice. We’ll wipe out these zombies and make this highway safe again.”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s words, the three women immediately took out their phones and began searching for recent news reports about this highway.

Lili looked up from her screen, surprised. ”Zhao Rong, you’re absolutely right! Starting this past Monday, there has been a string of car accidents on this highway, but no one could figure out the cause. What’s worse, the bodies of the victims were never found. It turns out these zombies were behind it all!”

Yu Lan, also reading the news, added, ”The police have even issued a reward! They’re offering one million US Dollars to anyone who can capture these zombies.”

Xuelian then tossed two canisters of pepper spray she had with her out the car window. ”Zhao Rong, I know you can defeat these zombies, but you’re unarmed! Here, take these. It’s better than nothing!”

However, as he faced the horde of more than a hundred zombies, Zhao Rong was not only calm but completely composed. ”I’ve been itching for a fight for a while now,” he said casually. ”It’s been too long since I’ve fought zombies. Your timing is perfect. You can be my sparring partners.”

With that, Zhao Rong charged forward and took down two zombies. But as he did, he found himself splattered with their blood and other fluids. He instinctively took a step back in disgust, retching twice.

”Damn it,” he muttered. ”I was going to wipe out this entire horde with my bare fists, but now I see how disgusting they are, covered in all this filth. Forget it. I’ll just open the Paradise Shopping Cart and buy a weapon to deal with them. It’ll save me from getting my hands dirty.”

Saying so, Zhao Rong purchased a mysterious weapon from the Paradise Shopping Cart.

As a package descended from the heavens and landed before him, the three women immediately began to speculate on what the mysterious weapon could be. ”I bet he bought an AK-47 to deal with this horde of zombies!” one of them exclaimed.
