Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

After dealing with Oxhead and Horseface and Black and White Impermanence, Zhao Rong immediately led the three women toward the nearby Hall of King Yanluo.

Miss Lili followed behind Zhao Rong fearlessly. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, since you have a demon-fighting stick in your left hand and a mechanical dog in your right, we shouldn’t have anything to fear when we enter the Hall of King Yanluo, right?”

Watching Zhao Rong walk with his head held high in confidence, Yu Lan’s own fear dissolved. She said, ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, when we first arrived in Hell, I was terrified because we were surrounded by all kinds of ghosts. But when I saw how easily you dealt with Black and White Impermanence and Oxhead and Horseface just now, I realized you’re simply amazing! Following you, there’s no need to be afraid, whether we’re in a dangerous place or right here in the underworld.”

Xuelian gave Zhao Rong a double thumbs-up. ”Big Brother, you’re a true master,” she praised. ”Definitely a master among masters!”

As the three women praised him, Zhao Rong pointed to a dim structure nearby that looked like a ghost movie set. ”Alright, we’ve arrived at the legendary Hall of King Yanluo,” he said. ”That place over there is where the dead are judged. And the Judge is none other than King Yanluo.”

When the three women heard that the very dim, even somewhat plain and unremarkable place was the famous Hall of King Yanluo, they were all shocked.

Lili asked curiously, ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, does everyone have to go in there to be judged after they die?”

While observing the two guards at the entrance to the Hall, Zhao Rong replied, ”I believe so.”

Yu Lan imagined the Assistant being judged and crying inside. She said with a smile, ”I bet the Assistant has just been judged and is about to be thrown into the cauldron of boiling oil. He’s probably scared witless right now, wailing for his parents.”

Xuelian took a pair of X-ray glasses from her pocket and put them on. Looking into the Hall of King Yanluo, she said to Zhao Rong, ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, we have to hurry inside! If we’re a step too late, the Assistant is really going to be thrown into that cauldron of boiling oil!”

With that, Zhao Rong led the three women and charged toward the Hall of King Yanluo.

Meanwhile, inside the Hall of King Yanluo, the Assistant was tearfully pleading with King Yanluo. ”King Yanluo, I beg you, please spare me! I really don’t want to die! I truly want to live another five hundred years...”

Before the Assistant could finish, King Yanluo commanded the several minor demons beside him, ”The time has come. The oil is hot. Throw him into the cauldron.”

Hearing the King’s command, the demons immediately hoisted the Assistant up and headed toward a large, scorching cauldron of boiling oil nearby.

As they walked, the demons whispered among themselves. ”In recent years, the number of people who did only evil in the mortal world just keeps growing. More and more of them end up in the cauldron of boiling oil after coming to the underworld.”

”Exactly. The living are always advised to do good deeds, help others, and be kindhearted. But they just won’t listen and insist on doing evil. Only after they die do they realize how tragic their fate is.”

”Once this fellow goes into the cauldron, he’ll never be reincarnated. After he’s cooked, we’ll just clean out the oil, pour out some ashes, and be done with it.”

When the Assistant, being carried along, heard these minor demons discussing him in such a manner, he cried out, ”Please, brothers, be merciful! Just give me a bowl of Meng Po Soup and let me be reincarnated!”

Hearing his plea for mercy, the minor demons scoffed at him. ”You want to be reincarnated? Then when you were a human in the mortal world, you should have done more good deeds and contributed to society. But you? You didn’t do good, nor did you do evil... you just filled your mind with incredibly lewd thoughts. Every time you saw a woman, you’d imagine her naked. For someone like you, escaping the cauldron of boiling oil is impossible. Reincarnation is completely out of the question.”

Hearing their words, the Assistant looked up to the heavens and sighed with regret. ”If I had known doing those things on earth would lead to this punishment—to being boiled in oil—I would have tried to be a good person...”

His words trailed off as he suddenly thought of Zhao Rong and the three women. He wiped away his tears, recalling the wonderful memories. Brother Zhao Rong, after I’m gone, don’t think of me or feel sad. Just consider me, your assistant, to have died on the battlefield. You all must continue to work hard, complete more missions, level up, and achieve glorious things...

His thoughts then turned cynical. Although Brother Zhao Rong is incredible... although he seems to have three heads and six arms... although he can travel between heaven and earth... there’s no way he could enter the underworld to rescue me, right?

Just as the Assistant concluded that rescue was impossible, he suddenly heard several voices rapidly approaching.

The first was a deeply magnetic male voice that roared, ”Let that man go! Leave him to me!”

The second was a woman’s cutesy, high-pitched voice. ”Assistant, don’t be afraid! We’ve come to the underworld to save you!”

The third voice was an uncanny imitation of Lin Zhiling’s. ”Assistant, no chasm is too wide, no mountain too high to stop us from coming to rescue you!”

The fourth was also a woman’s voice, but this one sounded remarkably like Cang Jingkong’s. ”Assistant, don’t be afraid! Right now, just find a way to jump down from those minor demons’ grasp. Stay where you are and wait for us to rescue you and take you back to the world of the living! Then, we can start a new life, a comfortable life. We’ll take on new missions, complete them, and get rich all over again!”
