Reborn As Super Heiress

That said, even though Huo Sining was running her mouth like a buzzsaw, deep down she didn’t really buy Oil Rat’s guess.

She’d met Fujiwara Seiho, and she’d seen firsthand how he could blow hundreds of millions in one go, so she knew very well this Dongyang guy was not short of money.

Besides, back in Philadelphia, he’d ignored all those pricey, valuable antiques on the Philadelphia Black Market, which already showed he wasn’t some smuggler who lost his mind the moment he saw antiques.

Based on Huo Sining’s observations, and Fujiwara Seiho’s series of actions, Huo Sining could basically be sure this Fujiwara Seiho, after hopping around so many Thousand-Year Ancient Tombs, definitely had an ulterior motive.

This man had cultivated so many connections in the country, scouring the great rivers and mountains of Huaxia Country for Thousand-Year Ancient Tombs, going into tombs over and over to survey and search for something, then in Philadelphia spending a sky‑high price trying to snatch that box containing the Classic of Mountains and Seas off the black market. Huo Sining had every reason to believe the purpose behind all this was very likely related to that Classic of Mountains and Seas written in that strange script.

But he’d been unlucky: on the Philadelphia Black Market, because Huo Sining and the Rothschild siblings had made a bet, she won a chance to make a demand, and when Fujiwara Seiho bid for that Classic of Mountains and Seas, she cut in and snatched it right out from under him.

Huo Sining knew clearly that Fujiwara Seiho’s reason for hunting down the Classic of Mountains and Seas was anything but innocent, and quite possibly tied to the secrets of Diaoti Country and the Jiaoren, so there was no way she could stay out of it.

So when she heard Oil Rat say that this Medicine King Cauldron incident was connected to the Luofu Mountain Ancient Tomb, and that Fujiwara Seiho had also stuck his hand into it, she couldn’t possibly sit back and watch and just let things develop on their own.

Fujiwara Seiho had lived in Huaxia Country for many years, and supposedly his father and grandfather had also lived in Huaxia Country, so Huo Sining felt it was no surprise if this man had once heard legends about Jiaoren, or even learned from someone the secrets of that strange Classic of Mountains and Seas.

But the fact that Fujiwara Seiho was mixed up with that Daoist Lu Huairu gave Huo Sining solid reason to believe this Dongyang man’s intentions toward the Jiaoren were anything but kind.

And Huo Sining and Fujiwara Seiho had already crossed swords more than once. She knew full well that the grudge between them couldn’t be wiped clean with a single stroke, so all she could do was keep opposing him.

She didn’t sympathize with Oil Rat and that partner of his, but with this bunch of Dongyang bastards coming right to their door to bully them, swallowing it without a peep was really not Huo Sining’s style.

”Your partner is still in those Dongyang devils’ hands, right? Does he know the entrance to the Luofu Mountain Ancient Tomb?”

Huo Sining asked instinctively.

Oil Rat shook his head. ”You know my talent for digging tunnels. Back when we were surveying the Luofu Mountain Ancient Tomb, I was the one doing it, so when I dug the tomb-raiding tunnel I didn’t call him in at all—just had him wait outside as my backup. I went into the tomb, took the goods and left. That place is hidden; without someone leading the way, you’d never find it.”

Huo Sining nodded. ”You didn’t tell that bunch of Dongyang people any details, did you?”

Oil Rat shook his head again. ”How could I? We Southern Faction tomb raiders have principles, okay. From my grandmaster on down, there’s an ancestral rule: we can raid tombs, but we absolutely cannot sell out the country. We Huaxia people digging our own ancestors’ graves, that’s family settling family affairs, but we must never let Dongyang devils go rob them. That’s an insult to the tomb owners.”

Huo Sining gave Oil Rat a lazy look. ”Oh really? You already signed a contract with them and you still talk about principles? You sure have the nerve. You sell antiques to Dongyang devils—how’s that any different from leading them to the tomb? Stop erecting a memorial archway for yourself. A Tomb Robber is a Tomb Robber, it’s not half as noble as you’re making it sound!”

Still, from the resolve in Oil Rat’s eyes, Huo Sining could at least judge that this old bastard really hadn’t told those Dongyang devils where the entrance to the Luofu Mountain Ancient Tomb was. Otherwise they wouldn’t have tortured him this badly—he was practically at death’s door.

From that, you could also tell that while Oil Rat was greedy, he still had some backbone. At the very least he knew what lines could and couldn’t be crossed; when it came to major matters, he wasn’t completely muddle‑headed.

Of course, this wasn’t praise. Huo Sining knew that the moment this guy stepped into tomb raiding, he’d already gone way off the rails.

But from this information, Huo Sining could at least deduce one thing: those Dongyang devils hadn’t pried any useful intel out of Oil Rat, and now that he’d escaped, they definitely wouldn’t let it go at that. In all likelihood they were still lurking nearby, trying to grab the escaped Oil Rat.

That actually made things easier. As long as they found this bunch’s boat, even if they couldn’t take on Fujiwara Seiho himself, they could at least deal with his little lackeys first—that would count as a warning to Fujiwara Seiho.

Huo Sining shot Oil Rat a cold look and said straight out, ”Alright, I’ve got the situation. You stay on the yacht for now. Your injuries have been treated and are basically not serious anymore. We won’t be going back to S City for the time being, so you’ll just have to stick it out with us. Conditions on the boat are limited, so do your best to put up with it. But if you really don’t feel well, don’t force it—tell us early so we can make plans.”

Oil Rat nodded, practically overjoyed.

Forget not returning to S City right now—he wished he could stay out at sea forever, that way he wouldn’t have to sit around with the cops. Those cops were way more troublesome than this woman Huo Sining.

As soon as Huo Sining stepped out of the cabin, she called Yue Shuwen and Gu Xu into a room and went over everything she’d learned from Oil Rat.

Yue Shuwen knew about the few copies of the Classic of Mountains and Seas Huo Sining had, and she’d seen Fujiwara Seiho before, so she couldn’t help but knit her brows, holding a suspicious attitude toward everything about this man.

”That Fujiwara Seiho is a menace—if we keep him around, sooner or later he’ll cause a disaster. I think we need to figure out a way to get rid of him.”

Yue Shuwen said bluntly.

Huo Sining also couldn’t help feeling some regret. Even though she still had no idea what Fujiwara Seiho was actually trying to do, and she herself had never taken the initiative to harbor murderous thoughts, this Fujiwara Seiho’s malicious intent was obvious. Even just to protect her own life, she couldn’t possibly show him mercy.

It was a pity that the first time she met Fujiwara Seiho on Qingping Mountain, she’d misjudged him and failed to see the malice he was hiding. Otherwise, back in Dongyang, she would’ve taken advantage of Fujiwara Seiho salvaging the Awa Maru to take him out on the spot, instead of letting him continue his evil deeds and live comfortably up to now.

So‑called ”raising a tiger invites calamity”—at this moment Huo Sining deeply understood the meaning of that saying.
