Reborn As Super Heiress

Upon returning to the Lake Heart Villa for less than half a day, without even having fully unpacked, Huo Sining’s phone rang. The call was from none other than Yan Xuesong, who had been in contact with Huo Sining frequently these days.

Huo Sining thought Yan Xuesong was calling about the orchid samples he had given her before, so she hastily answered the phone, only to hear Yan Xuesong’s hearty laughter on the other end:

”Huo girl, I heard you’re back in S City?”

Huo Sining was momentarily startled, then smiled wryly: ”Your information is really well-informed. I just got home and haven’t even unpacked yet.”

Yan Xuesong didn’t seem the least bit embarrassed: ”What’s the big deal? Your news with that brat Gu Xu is all over the headlines. Do I even need to dig deeper for your whereabouts? Besides, with Xie Daoyuan’s little apprentice shouting everywhere, is there any need to keep it under wraps?”

Upon hearing this, Huo Sining felt a wave of exasperation. Yan Xuesong’s words were surely exaggerated, but Su Qingqing must have blurted out her return to Xie Daoyuan, and it’s no surprise Yan Xuesong heard about it. Su Qingqing is such a blabbermouth; she can’t keep any secrets.

”Alright, let’s not argue about it. Do you have time? If you’re free, come to Guose Tianxiang this evening. Chen Qiankun and I will be there, and so will Zhao Guotian.”

Zhao Guotian is the boss of Guose Tianxiang. Earlier, Huo Sining had dined at Guose Tianxiang and coincidentally saw Boss Zhao buy a dying pot of Old Golden Osmanthus. Huo Sining timely intervened to save the plant, leading to her acquaintance with Boss Zhao.

With these three gathered together, Huo Sining couldn’t fathom what it could be about and asked in puzzlement: ”Is something going on?”

Yan Xuesong replied: ”It’s about the Orchid Society. It’s hard to explain over the phone. You should come and see.”

Huo Sining didn’t have anything pressing at hand, and she also wanted to graduate early. To bring this up directly with the school leadership would be tricky, but with the help of professors like Yan Xuesong and Chen Qiankun, it would probably go more smoothly.

So she didn’t refuse Yan Xuesong’s invitation, simply promising to be there shortly.

The distance from Lake Heart Villa to Guose Tianxiang wasn’t far, so Huo Sining decided to walk instead of drive. After leaving the house, she made a detour to the nearby bank to withdraw some cash and put it in her Space, then leisurely headed towards the restaurant.

Walking through an alley beside S University, she was about to reach the restaurant’s entrance when she was about to call Zhao Guotian to ask for the room number. Suddenly, a sharp voice rang out from not far away.

”You call this an orchid? Who are you trying to fool?” The voice was full of ridicule and disdain, sounding more like an accusation than an inquiry.

Following the direction of the voice, Huo Sining saw two familiar figures, Zhou Mei and Wu Linger.

Although S City is not very large, Huo Sining couldn’t help but lament how small this world really is, constantly running into these people unexpectedly, a fate that’s tangled and hard to sever!

Zhou Mei and Wu Linger aren’t the brightest, but such women can be quite troublesome. Huo Sining dreaded nothing more than trouble; thus, adhering to the principle of ”the less trouble, the better,” she pretended not to see and quickened her pace to avoid them.

Unexpectedly, in the next moment, Wu Linger sneered in a haughty tone:

”Still talking about Xishu Daoguang? I think this is an iris! She’s just trying to swindle us because she knows we’re desperate to find an orchid lately, trying to extort us, Mei Jie. I don’t think we need to argue with her; let’s just call the police!”

Initially intending to steer clear of this trivial matter, Huo Sining couldn’t help but pause upon hearing the words ”Xishu Daoguang.”

To participate in the upcoming Orchid Society, she had put in quite an effort, systematically studying orchid knowledge, especially with a keen understanding of various renowned orchid exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific region over the years.

Thus, the name ”Xishu Daoguang” was not unfamiliar to Huo Sining.

Xishu Daoguang, originally known as Xu Jiayahuang, is celebrated as the premier traditional orchid of Bashu. Additionally, it is the most famous variety among Spring Sword Su Xin Yahuang Flowers, its color, texture, shape, and fragrance exhibiting distinctive qualities, embodying the essence of Bashu orchid culture.

Though slightly inferior to the likes of Su Guan He Ding, it was still considered a top-tier orchid. In the early ’90s, it had even won a gold medal at the Xiangjiang International Orchid Exhibition.

However, these years, with an abundance of cloned and artificially cultivated Xu Jiayahuang, authentic wild ”Xishu Daoguang” had long vanished, with its name devalued by ubiquitous artificial varieties.

Logically, such an inconspicuous species shouldn’t draw excessive attention from Huo Sining, but she paused precisely because of Wu Linger’s previous statement.

Not only did she mention Xishu Daoguang, but she also brought up the iris, which instantly triggered a recollection in Huo Sining’s mind, a passage she had read in a book.

Xishu Daoguang has a long history, reportedly discovered over a century ago during the Qing Dynasty in a mountain range in Bashu. This flower is a hybrid mutant between Spring Orchid and Spring Sword Orchid. Earlier known varieties of Bashu Daoguang, had leaf edges with slight serrations, leaf tips curved upwards like a dragon’s head. Unbloomed, it closely resembled iris seedlings, with its golden blooms being the primary feature distinguishing genuine Daoguang.

Yet nowadays, through artificial cultivation, the ”Xishu Daoguang” has significantly diverged from its original strain. Consequently, most people cannot discern the authentic old ”Xishu Daoguang.”

Huo Sining harbored a vague hypothesis, driven by the thought of possibly stumbling upon a valuable find, she instinctively turned back and discreetly approached the group.

Sure enough, upon nearing them, she saw three people entangled, besides Zhou Mei and Wu Linger, there was also a girl with a flushed face, holding a pot of lush orchids.

Indeed, the moment she saw the pot of orchids in the girl’s arms, Huo Sining’s eyes lit up, confirming her earlier suspicions.

This pot of orchids was very likely the original ”Xishu Daoguang” she had speculated!

Because Wu Linger had spoken rather loudly, coupled with the proximity to the school, a crowd had quickly gathered to watch the commotion. Wearing a thick sweater coat and a hat, Huo Sining blended in subtly, remaining unnoticed by Wu Linger and Zhou Mei.
