Reborn As Super Heiress

The waves crashed against the sea reef as the group searched for a spot about seven or eight meters deep. There were black rocks nearby, with small crabs and fish hiding in the crevices, but these were just for amusement and not enough to fill a tooth gap if eaten.

Su Qingqing and her friends didn’t pay attention to these small fish and shrimp. This girl boasted about holding a fishing competition and even declared she would compete with Huo Sining and Yue Shuwen to see who could catch more fish.

Yue Shuwen and Huo Sining exchanged a glance, feeling a bit speechless.

Competing in fishing against Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan, two regular people, didn’t faze them. Not to mention herself and Huo Sining, even Niuniu and Qibao wouldn’t lose to her. They all came with built-in cheats. By channeling Spiritual Energy into their fishing gear, they could catch fish even without bait.

After all, they were Jiaoren who roamed freely in the sea. Underwater was their territory, where all the shrimps and crabs obeyed their commands. Ordinary people were no match for them.

Huo Sining and Yue Shuwen didn’t want to play with Su Qingqing, but Zhong Xiaoyao, Qibao, and Niuniu were very enthusiastic. Seeing their expressions, it was clear they were up to some mischief, clearly intending to give Su Qingqing a hard time.

Su Qingqing was oblivious, feeling proud as she shouted to the group, ”I brought a treasure this time, my dad’s privately cherished War God King. There’s no way I won’t catch fish with it!”

She pulled out a deep-sea fishing rod of great style and class from a black bag nearby. Just from the black sheen on the rod’s surface, it was clear this was a premium piece of fishing gear, worth a pretty penny.

However, the item Su Qingqing produced didn’t receive much admiration from the other girls present. In fact, no one gave it much attention, seeming disinterested in her fishing gear.

Seeing her item didn’t have the expected effect, Su Qingqing seemed a bit displeased and continued to explain:

”This fishing gear is top-of-the-line. See the LCD screen on the rod? When a fish bites, it shows on the screen, indicating when to reel in and when to let go. It’s absolutely professional-grade, and even a beginner can quickly get the hang of it!”

Huo Sining instinctively touched her nose, while Niuniu, the venomous little girl, had no intention of sparing Su Qingqing’s feelings, directly countering:

”Fishing is supposed to be fun. If you rely on equipment, what’s the fun in that? If you’re going to play like this, then there’s no reason for us to compete. We can beat you with standard equipment!”

Niuniu was only three years old, with Qibao being just in primary school, and only Zhong Xiaoyao being a bit older. But by her clumsy way of handling the rod, it was obvious she was a beginner at fishing too. Yet clearly, these little ones didn’t take Su Qingqing’s words seriously and didn’t think they’d lose in this fishing game.

Su Qingqing, who could sometimes be particularly childish and serious, saw the little ones’ disbelieving expressions and immediately got fired up, insisting on the competition and vowing that whoever lost would have to run a lap around the island at night.

The island wasn’t small, totaling about twenty miles around. Running a lap was no easy feat.

The little ones weren’t afraid of a challenge and agreed right away, leaving Huo Sining no time to object before Su Qingqing had already cast her line.

Huo Sining was immediately left speechless, Bai Yishan and Yue Shuwen were also helpless and could only join the fray.

Because Huo Sining and Yue Shuwen injected Spiritual Energy into the sea, within ten minutes, schools of fish had followed the Spiritual Energy to the island. Amidst the rolling waves, they could see dark circles of fish swarming toward them with the naked eye.

Huo Sining and the others were well aware, but Bai Yishan and Su Qingqing were oblivious. Surprised and delighted at the sight of the fish, the two women couldn’t help but shout excitedly, especially Su Qingqing, who was thrilled as if she were on a sugar high:

”See, I told you my rod is top-tier. I just put it in the water, and it attracted the fish. It’s a divine tool! Haha, looks like you’ll all lose to me today!”

Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh, shaking with uncontrollable amusement.

Girl, you’re really good at giving yourself credit. Do you really think your rod attracted this massive school of fish? You’ve got quite the bragging skills, huh? Okay, let’s see how many fish you actually catch!

Su Qingqing firmly believed in her own guess, but Bai Yishan, looking at the bait Huo Sining tossed near the rocks, seemed pensive. She thought perhaps it was the bait Huo Sining brought that worked, and curiously asked:

”Ningning, where did you get this fish bait? It looks quite effective.”

Huo Sining chuckled and shrugged, ”I bought it at a tackle shop at the fish market yesterday. I don’t know if it’s effective, but the shop owner said you need this kind of bait to create the bait site, otherwise, the sea fish won’t bite.”

Huo Sining’s words were three parts true, seven parts false. This type of fish bait was indeed common in tackle shops, and she did buy them with Su Qingqing yesterday. However, Huo Sining had tweaked them a bit, as otherwise, they would be useless for making a sea bait site. In reality, the fish would consume them all before you could reel them in, and no amount would ever satisfy their appetite.

Seeing Su Qingqing had already cast her line, Bai Yishan followed suit, imitating her actions. Meanwhile, Qibao, Niuniu, and Zhong Xiaoyao unhurriedly brought out their standard rods, casually hooked some bait, and, like kids playing house, carelessly tossed their lines to the rocks below.

Not long after Su Qingqing cast her line, a fish bit the bait.

Su Qingqing was thrilled, quickly reeling in her line. With a swift motion, she pulled a small bream fish, about three inches long, out of the water.

”Haha, first one!” Su Qingqing proudly lifted her eyebrow, nodding towards Qibao and the others, showing off her catch before placing the bream in the basket before her.
