Reborn As Super Heiress

Of course, Huo Sining couldn’t go into the details, but her strong aversion to seeking attention was clear to both Yan Xuesong and Chen Qiankun.

Therefore, Yan Xuesong and Chen Qiankun refrained from insisting:

”As for the authorship, it’s something Old Chen and I can promise you. However, if you want to refuse, it’s okay. We can sign an agreement privately, not including your name, but the scientific achievements will certainly count as your contribution. If there are rewards or other profits, your share won’t be missing.”

Huo Sining waved her hand: ”We’ll talk about these things later. I know what kind of people you two are; you definitely won’t let me suffer any loss in this regard. I don’t really understand scientific research, but if you need funding, manpower, or laboratory equipment, I can provide. Additionally, you definitely want to acquire this Xishu Daoguang orchid, right?”

Yan Xuesong nodded.

Huo Sining laughed and said, ”It’s not very appropriate to ask me about this. Since you’ve heard the whole story just now, you should know that this orchid doesn’t belong to me, but to Jiang Chao. So, I’m not the person to make a decision here.”

Yan Xuesong and Chen Qiankun immediately understood, instinctively casting hopeful glances at Jiang Chao.

Jiang Chao had never seen such a scene, and the reputation of Yan Xuesong and Chen Qiankun was well-known; these two were like the Mount Tai and Shu level professors of the academy. Her admiration and respect towards them were no less than what she felt for her idol, Huo Sining. She nervously pursed her lips and impulsively spoke:

”Professor Yan, Professor Chen, my mom dug this flower out of the mountain. It didn’t cost much, and since you both fancy it, I’ll just give it...”

Before she could finish speaking, Huo Sining suddenly interrupted her.

Huo Sining looked at Jiang Chao with some frustration and amusement, thinking to herself that this girl’s brain must be missing a gear or have a screw loose. She had previously tried to give the flower to me for free and was refused, and now she wants to give it for free to Yan Xuesong and Chen Qiankun?

With her forehead lined with black, Huo Sining pulled Jiang Chao to the side and softly admonished:

”Are you stupid? Do you really think these two in front of you are good people? These two are scientific research maniacs. If you tell me you’re giving it for free, I definitely won’t let you suffer a loss, but if you give it to them, do you know how they’ll react?”

Jiang Chao was taken aback, instinctively shook her head, and obediently said, ”I don’t know.”

Huo Sining tapped her forehead and replied, ”Sending a meat bun to a dog: gone without return. They are eager to receive it. If you give it to them, they’ll take it without hesitation!”

Jiang Chao nodded, indicating she didn’t mind: ”It’s okay, as long as it’s for the professors’ research project, it counts as a little contribution from me. Compared to you providing research funding, my contribution is insignificant.”

Huo Sining was truly impressed. She had earned a lot of money like a fortune windfall, but this girl’s possessions were not, and there was no comparison between the two!

”You say you’re silly, you still want to apply for their graduate program but don’t know how to take advantage of it, what a waste of that big head of yours! Forget it, don’t interfere in this matter, later when I say something don’t interrupt, just watch me!”

Huo Sining had already given up on enlightening this girl. It seems she’s a naturally straightforward girl suited for scientific research. If she truly gets accepted into Chen Qiankun’s graduate program, given how similar their temperaments are, they’ll surely get along well.

”I just discussed with Miss Jiang, I think it’s better like this, as I previously mentioned, let’s first take the flower to the Orchid Exhibition. At that time, see who bids and what the final price is. I will buy it under the research institute’s name at that price, ensuring Miss Jiang doesn’t suffer a loss. As for the money, it’ll count as research funding. Mr. Chen and Mr. Yan, keep your retirement funds for yourselves for now. How about this plan?”

Chen Qiankun and Yan Xuesong exchanged a look, feeling somewhat embarrassed: ”Money should definitely go to Jiang Chao; we can’t let people suffer because of our research project. However, it’s not right for you to pay for everything, Huo. How about we...”

Huo Sining didn’t wait for the two elders to finish and interrupted directly: ”Don’t be polite with me about money. I’ve said it’s a free sponsorship, and I won’t nitpick over a sample. But I have a personal request.”

Yan Xuesong was momentarily stunned but then quickly responded, nodding: ”Speak.”

Yan Xuesong understood Huo Sining, knowing she wouldn’t make unreasonable demands, and they would certainly be within an acceptable range.

Chen Qiankun also curiously looked towards Huo Sining.

They had lived most of their lives and naturally knew there was no free lunch in the world. With Huo Sining offering free research funding, she must have her considerations and goals. They were waiting to hear what conditions she would propose.

But the next moment, Huo Sining said something that left everyone present, including the two professors, Hu Yongyuan, and Jiang Chao surprised.

”Miss Jiang is my fan. I think she’s a good person, and it just so happens that she’s already applied for Professor Chen’s graduate program. So, my intention is not to directly participate in this project, but I can have someone represent me to join it.”

”As for the candidate, I think Miss Jiang is a good choice. As she enters, there’s no need for any special treatment. Professors, you just treat her as an assistant, no need to be considerate or worry.”

Yan Xuesong was taken aback: ”Is this your only request?”

Huo Sining nodded: ”Yes, just that. Professor, you don’t need to be concerned about using her efficiently. Just train her as you would normally. I’m sure Miss Jiang can handle it, right, Miss Jiang?”

Jiang Chao nodded repeatedly, looking gratefully at Huo Sining, while also anxiously and nervously glancing at Chen Qiankun and Yan Xuesong’s reactions.

Chen Qiankun glanced at Huo Sining with a slight smirk. When he first met her at the market and she tricked him out of his few Ancient Tea Tree plants, Chen Qiankun had already seen through her mischievous, clever nature.

He obviously understood what her intention was:

”Alright, don’t try to reason with straightforward Old Yan. He doesn’t understand the subtext of your words. I know what you want, isn’t it just a graduate student? Letting her pursue it isn’t difficult, but you know my principles, Chen Qiankun. If she doesn’t have real skills, it doesn’t matter if she brings a first-generation Xishu Daoguang or a first-generation Su Guan He Ding. I won’t accept her!”
