Reborn As Super Heiress

How could Wu Linger not understand what Zhou Mei was thinking? Seeing Zhou Mei like this, she felt even more disdainful, dragging along her contempt for other members of the Zhou family. She couldn’t help but snort coldly before turning her head to look towards Huo Sining.

Huo Sining didn’t pay any attention to the clash between Wu Linger and Zhou Mei; her gaze was fixated on Jiang Chao and the pot of Xishu Daoguang in her hands.

After all, she was a wealthy individual holding billions, and money was simply a series of numbers to her. However, Jiang Chao was different; one hundred thousand yuan was her mother’s life-saving money, and three million could let this family live a stable and peaceful life.

Huo Sining didn’t value this three million, but for Jiang Chao, it was definitely an astronomical figure.

By considering her past life’s situation, Huo Sining knew what Jiang Chao’s current situation was, but this girl showed no sign of covetousness or greed towards the three million, which proved her noble character, uncommon.

Huo Sining had always appreciated talent; Wu Jun, Li Quan, Zhao Cheng, and Zhang Chao were all talents she personally discovered, and now they were beginning to shine brightly under her guidance. Hence, seeing this girl Jiang Chao, she couldn’t help but feel joyful, unable to restrain the urge to recruit her under her wing.

However, she planned to keep this thought to herself for now. After considering it in her mind, she had a strategy and directly smiled at Jiang Chao:

”Here’s the thing, Senior Jiang, I genuinely appreciate your kindness. Honestly, I’ve taken a liking to your orchid, not because I actually like Orchid Grass, but because I’m planning to go to Yun Province after the new year to participate in the new session of the International Orchid Exhibition, which you’ve probably heard about?”

Jiang Chao nodded continuously:

”I’ve heard Professor Chen Qiankun mention it in class. Our college received an invitation to represent S University at the orchid exhibition. The college values this matter highly and has been preparing for months. Did you receive an invitation too, Sophomore Huo?”

Huo Sining shook her head: ”I’m not an orchid enthusiast, so there’s no reason for someone to invite someone irrelevant like me. But I know Professor Chen Dekun and Professor Yan Xuesong, and I happened to have a decent orchid, so they wanted me to participate too. After all, I’m part of our College of Biology, and my participation wouldn’t be against the rules, don’t you think?”

Jiang Chao nodded, somewhat like a devoted fan, clenched fists with a determined expression: ”Sophomore, participating in the orchid exhibition will surely land you the championship; you’re the best!”

Huo Sining instantly felt embarrassed, her mouth twitched subconsciously, wondering why seeing Jiang Chao like this reminded her of the fans holding support signs at the airport upon her and Gu Xu’s arrival this morning.

It was just... too similar!

This girl sported an expression of ”my idol is the best,” making it hard to continue the conversation.

Huo Sining resisted the urge to cover her face and steadied her expression before continuing:

”Your pot of Xishu Daoguang is pretty good, but it is somewhat lacking. The first-generation Xishu Daoguang is perfect in all aspects except for one flaw: it’s not easy to identify. Just now, Miss Wu mistook your flower for an Iris Flower; it really does look too similar when not blooming, so it’s understandable, don’t you think?”

Jiang Chao nodded: ”If you hadn’t mentioned it’s a first-generation Xishu Daoguang, I would have doubted myself, as I’ve only heard the name from villagers, not confirmed.”

Huo Sining smiled: ”The orchid exhibition in Yun Province will surely attract many orchid enthusiasts, and countless premium orchids of various kinds will be showcased. I won’t take your flower for no reason, but I can offer you a suggestion.”

”I can help bring your pot to the orchid exhibition, and if someone takes a liking to your flower and the price is right, I can help you sell it and transfer the money after my return. What do you think?”

Upon hearing Huo Sining, Jiang Chao hesitated: ”This...”

Huo Sining smiled: ”You don’t need to have any doubts, though Xishu Daoguang isn’t considered a top-tier orchid, it’s still a fine specimen. At an orchid exhibition, there’s bound to be someone who favors this type of orchid, and the price certainly won’t be lower than the one I just offered.”

Jiang Chao waved her hand repeatedly:

”No, no, I’m not doubtful; it’s just that as you’ve mentioned, this Xishu Daoguang is still in a non-flowering state. Even if it’s taken to the orchid exhibition, not many people will recognize it, so it might not even make it past the exhibition threshold.”

Huo Sining’s lips curled into a smile: ”This is exactly what I wanted to tell you. I know a friend who’s an expert in orchid care; the orchid I own was nurtured with my friend’s help. If you trust me, hand this pot over to me, and I’ll find my friend to help. He surely can make your flower bloom in time for the orchid exhibition, without delaying its participation.”

Jiang Chao was stunned, partly surprised that someone had the ability to alter the natural blooming period of plants, making the Spring Sword Orchid, which usually blooms in April and May, bloom early in January, and partly worried about whether it would be too troublesome for acquaintances she barely knew.

Seeing through Jiang Chao’s thoughts, Huo Sining quickly continued: ”Of course, I haven’t mentioned one thing; my friend doesn’t help for free. He’ll care for your flower for a while, but he’ll charge a fee. When your flower sells, he’ll take a five percent commission. What do you think?”

Jiang Chao nodded repeatedly; she never even expected such a result, which was a pleasant surprise given by Huo Sining. How could she possibly have any objections?

”That’d be wonderful, Sophomore Huo, isn’t this too troublesome for you?”

Huo Sining waved her hand: ”Not at all, not at all. You liking me makes us family, and there’s no trouble among family. By the way, you mentioned Professor Chen Dekun teaching your class, are you his student?”

Jiang Chao blushed: ”No, no, Professor Chen only teaches our elective course. I plan to apply for his graduate program, currently in the preparation phase, hoping to understand my professor’s research direction and teaching style beforehand to prepare for future studies.”

Huo Sining nodded thoughtfully: ”Professor Chen is indeed a good mentor; you’re making the right choice. Here’s the thing, I happen to have arranged dinner with Professor Chen tonight. Why don’t you come along to get acquainted with him? During next year’s graduate interview, maybe the professor will directly recruit you!”
