Reborn As Super Heiress

The worries of Huo Sining are not unfounded. Leaving aside the grudges between Wang Zhongwei, Zhong Zifan, and Liao Song, the grievances between Ma Liwen and Huo Sining over the years are not easily resolved with just a few words.

Of course, Huo Sining never considered resolving them. To her, these two are just small figures, and any tactics they might have, they can bring out—she’s truly not afraid.

But Zhong Zifan and Liao Song are somewhat weaker; petty people are difficult to deal with. Sometimes you can’t just laugh it off and settle a grudge.

Liao Song and Zhong Zifan were evidently well-prepared. Upon hearing Huo Sining’s reminder, they couldn’t help but laugh: ”Don’t worry, we’ve got countermeasures and plans. If we really can’t manage it, we’ll come to you for help, and there’ll be no politeness involved.”

Huo Sining smiled and nodded, indicating no problem. But seeing Liao Song and Zhong Zifan so confident, she reckoned there wasn’t much chance she’d need to step in.

After resting in the Imperial Capital for three months, Mrs. Gu finally allowed Huo Sining to return to the Magic Capital. By then, it was already November; the new semester’s courses were halfway through. Though she took leave, she had promised Qin Shaoyou that her exam scores wouldn’t be below 80 at the semester’s end. Still, she needed to show her face at school, otherwise, it would invite gossip.

Although Huo Sining didn’t care about such gossip, avoiding some slander was better than not. There was no need to give others ammunition as going to school wasn’t particularly difficult.

The junior courses weren’t easy, but with Huo Sining’s memory, she’d already devoured all the professional course materials. Going to school was mostly a formality.

Returning to S City definitely meant bringing the children along. As for the little one, the Gu Family wasn’t aware of his existence yet, so bringing him back wasn’t an issue. However, Yuanyuan’s presence or absence gave Huo Sining a headache.

Miaomiao and Yuanyuan hadn’t been to S City yet. Although Huo Sining was now married, she still viewed S City as her maternal home, given it’s where her new life began after reincarnation. Hence, she always held special feelings towards S City.

So she still wanted to bring the children back for a visit. But persuading several members of the Gu Family posed a big challenge.

After a few days of pondering, Huo Sining brought up her idea during a family gathering.

Madam Gu and Mrs. Gu’s faces turned somber upon hearing her, though stopping Huo Sining from taking her children to S City wasn’t appropriate since they’re young, and staying with their mother better aids their growth.

Master Gu didn’t say much, but he wasn’t pleased hearing Huo Sining wanted to bring the children back to the Magic Capital.

Even Chen Yu and Brother Gu looked reluctant, and Tuantuan downright grumpily said:

”Auntie, leave the sister behind; don’t take her away. Sister can sleep with me at night, and I’ll save my pocket money and snacks for her!”

Huo Sining found those words laughably bittersweet.

The little one’s innocent words reflected the family’s sentiments.

These folks were all elders, and the Gu Family had finally gotten a daughter in Huo Sining’s generation after three generations. The family doted on her excessively, afraid she’d melt in their mouth or fall from their hand. Estimating that future requests to the stars or moon would have everyone brainstorming solutions for her.

Gu Xu could see Huo Sining’s predicament and quickly helped his wife persuade: ”Grandpa, we’re merely visiting S City, not living there permanently. Ningning’s company has moved to the Imperial Capital; it’s impossible to reside long-term in S City. The child is still young and needs proximity to her mom at night for safety; we wouldn’t feel safe leaving the child behind.”

No one in the room spoke. Huo Sining knew she couldn’t be too forceful and could only reason emotionally:

”Grandpa, Grandma, I’ve already applied for early graduation. This trip to S City, on one hand, is to let the children see it, and on the other hand, to take the senior-year graduation exam. If I pass, I’ll get my diploma ahead of time and then won’t have to travel back and forth with the children.”

”Also, come January next year, the children will be around half a year old. Coincidentally, there’s an international orchid appreciation exchange in Yun Province, and I’ll have to attend with Professor Yan Xuesong from my school. By then, I’ll need your help to look after her.”

These words were like throwing a sweet date; sure enough, after hearing this, everyone in the room looked a bit happier. Madam Gu nodded happily:

”What’s the fuss; we’re all family, no need for division in talk. Your mother-in-law and I are eager to babysit the children. Don’t worry about us not being able to handle it; we may not know more than you, but have some experience. Besides, there’s the nanny; Aunt He, who cared for Tuantuan, is quite adept at raising children. I’ll invite her back soon; she’ll surely help you care for the children well!”

Mrs. Gu also chimed in: ”Yes, yes, Aunt He knows her stuff about raising children. Tuantuan was taken care of by her till he was three without ever being sick. When Yuanyuan turns half a year old, she can stop nursing, giving you time to handle your affairs. This arrangement is perfect!”

Feeling the atmosphere in the room relax, the tension in Huo Sining’s heart finally eased. People always say mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships are tricky; she hadn’t thought so before, but now felt a bit overwhelmed.

Catching a moment when others weren’t paying attention, Huo Sining gave Gu Xu a bitter smile. Gu Xu instinctively wiped his forehead, and both let out a synchronized sigh.

The day after the family gathering, with all luggage sorted, Huo Sining and her group set off back to the Magic Capital.

Learning that Huo Sining was returning, none was more excited than Su Qingqing.

She had openly gotten involved with Wu Jun recently, and their relationship had become quite heated, with Su Qingqing eagerly desiring a daughter herself. After meeting Yuanyuan, her envy was palpable, wishing she could take the little girl home as her own daughter.

Huang Hongying was also delighted to hear about Huo Sining’s return and drove to the airport early to welcome her.

Wu Jun and Bai Yishan also came along, as they couldn’t miss out. This time, along with Huo Sining, Yue Shuwen, Zhong Xiaoyao, and Jiang Xiaoqin returned as well, not to mention Qibao, Tongtong, and Niuniu, making it a big party. Without Wu Jun and Bai Yishan, Su Qingqing’s car alone couldn’t accommodate everyone.
