Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1794: Chapter 1697: News Arrives

Huo Sining had no idea that after Zheng Lixiang returned to Qing City with the rescue team, she eagerly dialed the phone number Huo Sining had left for her.

It was Gu Xu’s private number. Generally, if someone wanted to contact Gu Xu, they would call his secretary Zhou Qi’s number. When Zheng Lixiang dialed it, she was somewhat anxious, afraid of accidentally angering this Young Master Gu.

But to Zheng Lixiang’s astonishment, when she dialed the number, what she heard was a mechanical female voice from the other end: Sorry, the number you have dialed is not in the service area...

Not in the service area?

Thinking she dialed wrong, Zheng Lixiang redialed the number, but the voice was still the same.

This drove Zheng Lixiang to panic; she didn’t have the phone numbers of Huo Sining’s other friends, and Huo Sining didn’t have an assistant. She had no idea who to contact; this was troublesome.

Feeling flustered, Zheng Lixiang quickly called her father.

If her memory was correct, her father knew Huo Sining and might even know some of Huo Sining’s other friends.

Zheng Lixiang didn’t dial the wrong number this time, and after receiving her call, Zheng Huaqing separately dialed Ouyang Jun, Qin Tian, and Su Jinyuan. The first two numbers were out of service, but the last one went through.

Su Jinyuan was still in Magic Capital, but the Su Family had known since the afternoon that Huo Sining was in trouble in Meishan.

Not only the Su Family, but also the Huang Family, the Zhou Family, the Gu Family, and even Chief Lu knew. Everyone was worried about Huo Sining’s safety. Su Qingqing and Su Jinyuan were even prepared to set off for Meishan but were stopped by Su Zhenhua.

”If you go there now, it will only create more chaos. If Huo Sining is fine, the rescue team will naturally bring her back. If she is indeed in trouble, going there won’t help and will instead increase the difficulty of the rescue efforts. The rescue team’s current task is to focus all their forces to rescue those affected by the disaster. If you go, they would need to allocate people to ensure your safety, which is absolutely disruptive!”

Su Zhenhua firmly opposed the Su family siblings entering the disaster area. Despite Su Qingqing’s numerous futile protests, she could only return upstairs to nervously refresh her Weibo to keep track of the rescue situation in Meishan.

After calming down, Su Jinyuan also realized his father was right. None of them were professionals, and their presence would only hinder the rescue efforts.

So he quickly devised a plan, leveraging all his connections to see if he could find anyone in Meishan to help gather information.

Not only the Su Family, but also the Gu Family, Huang Family, and Zhou Family were trying to find Huo Sining. But with Meishan’s communication cut off, it was as if it was isolated from the outside world, making obtaining information difficult.

Chief Lu immediately issued top directives, instructing the rescue team that as soon as they found Huo Sining, they should report back to him.

However, after the directive was issued, six to seven hours passed without any news of Huo Sining’s safety, causing everyone’s hearts to hang heavily.

At around eleven at night, the Su family members hadn’t slept, all sitting in front of the TV, eyes fixed on the scenes captured by reporters.

This was a video shot by earthquake survivors showing the post-earthquake situation in the Qingya Disaster Area.

The devastation and the scenes of life and death farewells were stark. The video was filmed at dusk, and so the background was dark, with blurry images. Yet, rubble and collapsed buildings were visible everywhere, along with cries and calls for family members audible throughout.

Seeing this, Huang Hongying’s eyes were red with emotion, and she sighed, ”I don’t know how many lives will be lost this time. Heaven bless us; may our Ningning be safe and sound!”

Su Qingqing’s tears fell uncontrollably. ”Ningning is so capable; she’ll definitely be alright. She’s an indomitable queen; how could she be taken down by an earthquake like this!”

Whether Su Qingqing spoke these words to herself or to the rest of the Su family was unclear.

Su Jinyuan and Su Zhenhua remained silent, their gaze fixed firmly on the television.

”It’s late; go to bed. No news is the best news right now. That child has been in Bashu for so many years, withstood it alone, indicating that this child is blessed and fortunate. This time, she’ll surely be fine as well!”

After a period of silence, Su Zhenhua spoke these comforting words.

However, no one listened to him; Huang Hongying and the Su siblings all sat on the sofa without reacting.

At this moment, Su Jinyuan’s phone abruptly rang, sounding remarkably loud in the spacious living room.

The sound caused the Su family members to tremble and all turned toward Su Jinyuan.

Su Jinyuan was also thrilled, hastily pulling his phone from his pocket. Yet, when he saw the caller ID, he froze, and the intense joy in his eyes vanished instantly.

The call was from Zheng Huaqing. Su Jinyuan didn’t know why he was sought at this moment, but he still answered out of courtesy.

”Director Zheng?”

Once the call connected, Zheng Huaqing exhaled deeply with relief and eagerly said, ”Mr. Su, notifying you was really difficult. I tried calling Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian, but I couldn’t reach either, almost driving me mad.”

Upon hearing this, Su Jinyuan felt a surge within and suddenly realized something, hurriedly asking, ”Is there news about Huo Sining?”

After hearing that Su Jinyuan’s phone rang, the Su family couldn’t help but crowd around. Seeing the caller ID displaying Zheng Huaqing’s name, they were all disappointed and returned to their places.

But the next second, upon hearing Su Jinyuan ask if there’s news about Huo Sining, Huang Hongying and the others straightened up, their faces surprised, and anxiously perked up their ears, eyes full of hope.

On the other end, Zheng Huaqing also laughed, ”Yes, my daughter just called me. Everyone in their crew is fine. Miss Huo was in the hotel at that time but managed to escape smoothly without a scratch!”

Upon hearing this, Su Jinyuan felt a huge sense of relief and said, ”It’s good that she’s okay, just good!”

Zheng Huaqing hesitated for a moment and then continued, ”However, their crew followed the rescue team back to Qing City, while Miss Huo stayed in Meishan.”

Su Jinyuan was taken aback, ”She didn’t follow the rescue team back? Why?”
