Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1778: Chapter 1680: Saving Lives

Chief of Staff Liao didn’t know Gu Xu’s specific identity, and thought he was like Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian, one of those carefree second generation from the Imperial Capital. However, after he sent a team of medical personnel over, the situation he saw shocked him.

Gu Xu led a rescue team composed of four people, continuously saving lives at a very rapid pace. By the time the medical team arrived, there were already ten or so injured who had received simple emergency wound treatment.

After understanding the situation, Chief of Staff Liao realized he had misunderstood, and upon seeing Gu Xu’s skills and ability to save lives, he vaguely suspected that Gu Xu might also be their colleague.

Initially, Chief Liao felt that Ouyang Jun and his companions coming to the disaster zone at this time was pure nonsense, but now he realized they had something to rely on.

However, even with something to rely on, in the face of natural disasters, humans are merely ants.

Chief of Staff Liao secretly calculated that the people these few second generation are looking for are most likely more dead than alive.

However, Chief Liao didn’t dare to say this in front of Gu Xu and Ouyang Jun for fear of attracting dislike for no reason.

Gu Xu was unaware of Chief Liao’s thoughts. Although he was filled with worry for Huo Sining at the moment, the situation in front of him didn’t allow him to think further. As a soldier, saving lives is his duty, and in such circumstances, he must reach out to those in need.

On the other side, Huo Sining, after experiencing a series of aftershocks, regained her composure from panic and fear.

The first thing she thought of was to call her family.

But what she did not expect was when she took out her phone, she found there was no signal at all. The entire Meishan was trapped in a predicament of isolation from the outside world, and she couldn’t make any calls.

Huo Sining knew that by now, the outside world must already be aware of the earthquake, but she had no idea if Gu Xu and the others were in chaos. However, without the ability to send signals, no matter how anxious she was, it was useless.

Moreover, what worried Huo Sining more now was the safety of Xie Yuxing, Zheng Lixiang, and others staying at the hotel. After the film wrapped, everyone from the crew returned to the hotel, and now that the hotel had collapsed, it was completely unknown if those people had escaped safely.

Thus, Huo Sining couldn’t dwell on reporting her safety to Gu Xu and the others. After making sure she was properly protected, she returned to the ruins of the hotel.

The hotel had collapsed, and Huo Sining wanted to find a crew member to ask if everyone inside had escaped safely, but she didn’t expect that as soon as she reached the hotel entrance, she saw a few seventeen or eighteen-year-old kids carrying a blood-covered wounded person and staggering out.

These kids obviously escaped death themselves, looking panicked, with tears in their eyes, walking while continuously pressing on the wounded woman’s wounds with their hands, but doing this was pointless as the blood kept flowing.

”Save our teacher, someone please save our teacher, sob sob sob...”

Huo Sining wanted to rush into the hotel to check the situation, but upon seeing this scene, she couldn’t help but pause her steps. She quickly rushed forward uncontrollably, pushing aside one of the kids’ hands that were covering the wound, urgently and sharply saying:

”Your hands are covered in mud; don’t touch the wound, it’ll get infected and worsen the situation!”

Huo Sining pulled out a clean bedsheet from her backpack and quickly said to the kids, ”Follow me, find some flat ground, we have to stop the bleeding first; otherwise, she won’t live to see the rescue team arrive if the blood keeps flowing.”

The kids were already desperate; seeing Huo Sining rush over gave them hope like grasping the last straw. They found their backbone, doing whatever Huo Sining asked them to do.

Following Huo Sining’s instructions, they arrived at a clearing, and she spread out the bedsheet, motioning for the others to place the injured woman on it.

The woman was in her thirties, covered in blood, and Huo Sining couldn’t bother wiping her clean; she touched her and was shocked speechless.

Under the Heavenly Eye, this woman’s spine was broken in several places, four ribs in her chest were fractured, her lower leg suffered a comminuted fracture, and there were countless large and small cuts over her body. With so much blood lost, it was amazing that she was still alive, and Huo Sining had to admire her tenacious vitality and will to survive.

Huo Sining urgently infused spiritual energy into the woman’s body to at least hold onto her last breath; otherwise, all her subsequent efforts would be in vain.

The woman’s physical condition seemed to improve with the spiritual energy; her eyes brightened significantly. She opened her eyes to glance at her students beside her and tried to speak.

”Don’t speak now, save your energy. I’m giving you emergency treatment. Don’t worry, after such a significant disaster, the government will quickly send medical personnel here!”

Huo Sining, afraid that the woman might die suddenly, quickly indicated for her not to speak and then took out an emergency medical kit from her bag, cleaned the woman’s wounds, and swiftly bandaged them.

This woman had multiple fractures, but luckily her heart and vital organs weren’t damaged. After bandaging the wounds and using spiritual energy to quickly stop the bleeding, it was essentially saving her life.

However, this situation cannot last long; if the rescue team doesn’t arrive within a day to transport her to a hospital for proper treatment, she might not survive.

But Huo Sining could only help this far; her abilities were limited, and she couldn’t exhaust all her spiritual energy for this woman. Besides, she hoped to use Azure Pearl’s spiritual energy to treat more wounded.

With memories from her previous life, Huo Sining clearly remembered several earthquakes where the government promptly reached the disaster zone for rescue, so she believed the rescue team would arrive soon. She wasn’t worried about this.

”Her wounds are now treated and won’t bleed anymore, but she has several fractures requiring surgery from an orthopedic expert. You all should stay here with her; it’s a safe clearing, unaffected by aftershocks. Don’t be afraid; it won’t be long before the army and medical personnel arrive to rescue!”

Huo Sining quickly reassured the kids she noticed were filled with fear.

The children, seeing their teacher rescued, were extremely grateful, almost bowing to Huo Sining in thanks.

”Miss, thank you for saving our teacher; without you, we wouldn’t know what to do now...”
